    Finally! Somebody playing audio through it instead of just talking about it. Phew!

      It's like you send your track to be mastered, and he just kinda plays with his dinosaur like a little kid and hardly works on the track, but then he goes, ahhhh no biggie, I'll just give it a quick rip through the MBP with some silk! Boom done.

    It gives confidence in the musicianship of an audio engineer when I see them hit engage/bypass in time with the music :)

      dont be fooled by the gain loss. he only gain-matched on the last song.

    • @protooler7
      @protooler7 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it's the amount of polish and thickness the MBP unit adds. It would be silly only to listen to gain changes.

    • @vPlanB

      +protooler7 Thats what added gain sounds like buddy

    • @protooler7

      Mania Yup, we should use our DAW's gain plugin and add 3dB of gain. It's silly to spend $4000 on the Rupert Neve Designs MBP. :)

    Great video! The first example is pretty mind blowing. Not so sure about the other two.. especially the last one, once you level match it, I kind of like it without the processing but there's no doubt the first example benefits tremendously from the Protico II. What an awesome piece of kit!

    Great vid. I love the way you engage/disengage the unit on the start of a bar. That way you can really enticipate on the change in sound. If you know what I mean ;) I really want to try and use one of these puppy's on my master whilst mixing, with some subtle settings. See in what way it changes the way I mix.
    Just invested in some Neve pre's and som ad/da converters, so i'll have to save some money first though!

    I just ordered an MBP and an Orbit. I'm trying to get some more punch out of my mixes. I'm using the Focusrite ISA 8 channel and a 2 channel ISA 2. My interface is a Tascam Model 24. Anyone with any tips? I am always looking for some new ideas. I guess I would play the mix I have through the MBP and send it to two tracks? I am an old analoger and I used to have an Otari 8 track and a 2 track mixdown deck. I'm hoping this takes my mixes to the next level!

    I’m new to hardware and maybe a crazy question, but I’m just a mixing engineer and wanted to know if this is only for mastering or could this be placed on the master buss for a mix before sending it to a mastering engineer? I have the fusion it works great, but I also love the Neve sound and looking to purchase. So please let me know if possible.

      @@prodjincmusicproductions6587 Excellent question! Very early Master Buss Processors had a 250Hz side-chain filter (as shown in this video), but the side-chain filter is now at 125Hz in current production units. (We updated the unit a number of years ago based on user requests.)

      +Allan Curtis lol... thanks for your reply but I would need two 1073s because this will be used on a master bus! The mbp seems primarily for dynamics where the 1073s are pres with eq.

    • @Jjf109nine
      @Jjf109nine 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +springfield Fam yeah 1073's wouldnt make much sense here. The mbp is a great swiss army knife (lots of functions). Ssl Bus comp is a classic if you are looking for dynamics only😎

    I noticed you do not increase the percentage of the silk knob, it seems you just leave it at min? Is your intention to only place the min amount in the circuit?

    Your funny mad visionoflife.I own this do not say silly things like that just cause you cannot buy one.YOU CAN ONLY JUDGE IF YOU HAVE ONE,not off some video.Looks like he was using a basic studio setup to show you how powerful this unit is.DO NOT COMPARE CHEAP PLUGINS TO A 4000 DOLLAR UNIT.When you use this in a pro studio thats why the price is so high it will give you radio ready music guaranteed.If you think im lying click on my pic on the left GO TO ABOUT G+ thats me in my home studio look at my rack full of gear you'll see it.Ozone is a joke.THERE'S A REASON PEOPLE STILL COME TO EXPENSIVE STUDIO'S TO GET THAT RADIO SOUND.WE SPARE NO EXPENSE.We all started with a project studio.But when I had one in my early days I was'nt on ssl pages saying a certain plugin can do that same sound.Thats given out false truth,that will make the unexperience make a bad purchase.Work hard and save for whats needed to make pro music.

    I'm sure this box is good, but I just stopped the video when you didn't matched the gain in first example. Human ear instantly perceives louder "better" so this is a completely biased demonstration, therefore completely flawed... Good bye...
