Are they? Do you have any proof of that contention? No doubt some surgeries will be experimental, as new techniques are always being developed for all types of surgery. However, these surgeries have being going on for some time now so some related procedures must be well established at this point.
Doctors, especially surgeons hold a lot of power. So when they are selling the fantasy solution that some confused young person believes will fix all their problems…..
@@kevinarnold8634 > Sir, you are defending the indefensible. Listen to the de-transitioners, and those who are essentially “gelded” for life. And now they are arrogantly doing this to kids. Children! What kind of ‘Doctor’ would cut the breasts off of a 12 year old little girl because she *thinks* she is really a boy? I’ve seen pictures of this.
@@kevinarnold8634 A huge part of the problem is all those private clinics in the USA that want to earn money by jumping on the woke bandwagon. In Europe and Asia these surgeries are done for decades. Of course, it's complicated surgery and there are risks, but if done professionally they are not experimental.
@kevinarnold8634 lobotomies went on for over TWENTY years before that medical practice finally started getting phased out. Over 60,000 people who needed therapy and mental health care were instead funneled quickly into surgery; they were then mutilated and their lives were destroyed. At the time drs were insistent that removing lobes of the brain would cure their patients of all their ills. Parents were being encouraged to have their daughters lobotomized if they weren't showing an interest in traditional female ideals such as marrying and having children and they instead wanted to pursue male activities like college and voting. Getting your daughter lobotomized would make her become obedient and feminine, the way she was truly meant to be from birth. Even President Roosevelt bought into it and in 1941 (which was when he was actively serving in office btw), it was about ten years deep into lobotomies being regularly practiced and he consented to have one performed on his 23 yr old daughter after being pressured by outsiders that it would "fix" her wild independent tomboy attitude. Any of that sound familiar at all? Just because they technically and clinically know how to do these procedures doesn't mean that those procedures automatically equate to a positive long term quality of life for the patients afterwards. Today we look back at lobotomies in abject horror and wonder how society could have let this happen to so many people for so long when it's clearly incredibly harmful. How could those Drs have been so stupid? How could this horrific experiment spread so far and wide that even the white house was affected by it? I fear that 100 years from now people will look back at these new experimental genitalia surgeries that have been performed on young people who's brain isn't fully developed yet, or mentally ill people who need psych treatment for trauma, etc and not amputation, (and to be clear, even if it's been around for 10 years-in the medical community that is still considered brand-new) and that they will views us with the same mix of horror and disgust and confusion that we today view those who allowed, even encouraged, lobotomies to happen.

"it was more like social dysphoria not gender dysphoria, I just wanted to be accepted." That is the message that needs to be spread far and wide to teenagers thinking of going through this process. Thank you ShapeShifter for your bravery in speaking out. I really hope that you have a support network around you.
I think that is definitely a huge part! I used to think I had to look a certain way to be accepted. A little thinner, then when I was too thin, I wanted to be a little curvier! I wanted to change everything from my nose to my lips and I hated my stomach after giving birth. I was never satisfied with anything.
I absolutely agree. I saw this when all this started. Every insecure teenager wants to be accepted and special and 95% of teenagers fit tht bill. When this first started they said it was only 1-2% of the population. It has become a real viral contagion. It is now infecting like half the population it seems. 49:31
Jeffree Star is exactly who comes to my mind when I think of a man who wants to present physically as a woman but mentally is still a man, not a trans person. And there’s nothing wrong with that. It hurts to see that not only society but medical professionals (!) are pushing their agenda onto troubled, often lost and insecure people. Great interview.
Yes exactly. I mentioned him in the other video on Blaire’s main channel. He doesn’t believe in all this non-binary crap going around too. Even me as a “cis” woman sometimes I wish I could dress more masculine certain days because I love fashion in general. I love being feminine but my creative side just wants to be tomboyish some days. That doesn’t mean I’m trans or non-binary lmao.
This is such a great point! Jeffree is obviously a very feminine presenting person but anyone who’s watched him for a while can tell his ‘soul’, if I can call it that, is definitely male. Which is totally fine! You can be a dude through and through and still enjoy wearing makeup and pink wigs.
Same with Pete Burns, he discussed it in big brother, he sees himself totally as a man, dates men and women but needs to present the way he does, he said women do not own skirts and feminine clothes etc, women can wear trousers, so why can't he wear a dress?
Absolutely. I think the noise polarising online is making it harder to do this all the time and it's so fucking sad. It's sad for people that went through this but its also so terrifying that they won't be the last. It's just so heartbreaking
I can relate to that too- I grew up in an abusive home, emotionally neglected, really troubled, abusive long time boyfriend (now ex thank god), was abusing drugs, raped, only a few days after being raped someone I thought was my friend sexually took advantage of me and the bad state I was in, suffering from depression suicidal thoughts suicidal actions and anxiety, had no one to turn to, and I can honestly say that if someone had just given me a hug and said "You're loved, wanted, cared about, and there's nothing wrong with you (because in my mind if my own mom didn't love me why would anyone else and on top of everything else I was going through my self confidence was nonexistent)" I probably would've burst into tears. Like you said compassion can go a LONG way.

Please share your stories, ITs important to share how the medical community has abused trans individuals. This is exactly like the 21st century lobotomy,,,Sexual Lobotomy
I almost cried when I heard this story. I just had peritoneal penile vaginoplasty at Kamol Hospital in Thailand and it has been nothing short of amazing, with none of the complications Shapeshifter has experienced. I wonder how their experience would have been different if they also had full depth, full sensation, and a naturally lubricating vaginal canal as I have. If they want a revision to restore all these things, I recommend Kamol Hospital. It’s not too late, many girls go there for revisions and are very very happy. So it’s inaccurate to say science/surgery is not capable of helping trans women achieve the body they desire. My vagina/vulva is wonderful and I am now complete. This, of course, is completely apart from the mental issues Shspeshifter suffers from.
As a liberal from MA, I agree whole heartedly with this entire episode. This is devastating and children cannot consent to this. These doctors who prescribe these meds for children need to have their license taken away immediately
It's very normal. It doesn't matter the area of medicine. A lot of doctors won't go in and fix other doctors work. Not just trans doctors. It's why it's particularly dangerous to go overseas for surgery - if they make mistakes, a local doctor won't touch you. It's not really that they see you as a difficult patient, more that they just don't want the hassle or possible negative reputation that comes with trying to attempt to fix a botched surgery. Is it right? I see both sides. It absolutely sucks for the patient, but I also get where the Dr is coming from.
Oh they care about is the cash. If they cared about the person they wouldn't be doing the surgery in the first place. Yeah I agree with that comparison as well. I fully believe society will look back on these surgeries with the same bewilderment and flat out disgust as we look back at lobotomies nowadays. How was that allowed to happen? People really thought that was ok? Will be common questions. Guarantee it.
Reminds me of the line from 1984 where the government official tells the protagonist that they are "working on getting rid of the human orgasm entirely," implying that they want it so that people's only energetic outlet is work and devotion to the State.

Saying trans people (an at-risk for suicide population) die from suicide AS COMPARED TO CIS PPL AFTER SURGERY is very moronic and a terrible conclusion to form. Vivem lutando contra o preconceito, mas são preconceituosas, falam que as pessoas podem ser o que quiserem, mas quando alguém quer destransicionar não pode, que absurdo
i agree, their story is just as important as everyone else’s. it’s their reality, and they should be allowed to turn to the community, tell their story without being ostracized or ridiculed
I don’t understand how they let these sort of sad stories happen?? When having cosmetic surgery, they have to tell you the down sides but something so impactful as this, they don’t! 😱. Shapes, sending you all love and healing ❤️❤️
I have faith you will come to a conclusion 💜 trust your gut and follow your heart. A moment will come that shows you all the clarity you have been needing.
Sending love and a big big hug. Please don't do anything drastic, take time with yourself, be kind to yourself and remember when you'll feeling low, I promise you the sun will come up again xxx
“I wish somebody would have just hugged me as a child.”😢😭 My son who is 11 has a friend, a little girl; she has told him and her other friends that she is trans. I know that this baby girl has had lots of trauma in her young life, she’s been talking lately of surgery and transitioning… AT 11 YEARS OLD!?😭 Leave the children alone! Thank you both for this real talk.
Yeah its terrifying what we are doing to kids as a society rn, its insanity that we have to get to a point of thousands of kids suffering from their past decisions to see that it was a mistake 😔
I've seen that sometimes young girls want to transition (not only because female puberty is like getting hit by a semi-truck. One day you're playing soccer with the boys and the next day you're being looked at differently and have unwanted attention from people and you don't "feel right" in your own body.) Because of trauma from their past. I've seen a couple people say they wanted to transition because of sexual abuse and that they felt like they could take back their power by being a man. I've also seen a video on the destruction of feminity and how we're telling young girls that feminity isn't powerful in its own way and that you should aspire to be more masculine. It's all so sad since it's resulting in permanent mutilation and sometimes they don't even realize it until after the damage has already been done.
@@волк-ы1ш this is all so true!!! It pisses me off that "neo" feminism is basically telling girls to embrace masculine qualities to "empower" themselves. I feel it's all an attempt to drive women away from the power of divine femininity. Because it is divine. We create life, we nurture the next generation, we can bring men to their knees. But trying to be more like men does the opposite.
@@волк-ы1ш I know girls who were anorexic/bulimic and essentially they had been in traumatic sexual situations and they didn’t want to grow up. They saw being anorexic as a way of keeping power over their body and also by being underweight they thought they would get less attention from a sexual point of view. I mean this understanding has come about after years of searching to find out why they did what they did etc and then they finally understood! Puberty is so tough on girls. Girls that are like eleven years old getting stared at by grown men just because they have boobs is a really hard thing for girls to understand/cope with. Then if you have bad periods 😩
I transitioned at the age of 20 and came to the realization that trans-sex is as non-existent as trans-age, trans-race or trans-eye-color. You can't change biology. I pass as a women but I now know that I'm a feminine man and that it s beautiful thing. Please be careful, don't hurt your perfectly healthy bodies. Feminine men and masculine women are amazing.
I had friends ask if i ever considered getting surgery, then were shocked when i would ask "for what?" I grew up sorta walking the middle line in feminine and masculine traits and interests. I wanted to play in the mud and roughhouse, but i also wanted to put on a princess dress to do so. Had i ever transitioned i would have been miserable, personally. I am a woman and i am comfortable being a woman. Thank you for validating mine, and so many others, experiences. Feminine men and masculine women are indeed amazing 💕
oh and btw you are just a feminine man. if you are trans, you would be having gender dysphoria unless you do surgery on your body. dont equate your case with everybody
I watched just a part of it and i am overwhelmed by the honesty of your guest, for the openness and details that are never talked about. I feel so sad to hear your guest talking about the problematic consequences, health related specifically and the rest, my heart hurts. But someone had to talk about it out loud to save others. I admire the courage to put yourself out on the internet and going into intimate details in order to prevent and warn others to not repeat mistakes, that is altruistic! People who are different, feel different are accepted but people trying to force others accepting a lie is never going to be tolerated, this direction leads to dictatorships and endangers a whole society. The nervous laugh and how detached is speaking of the problems, makes me think the guest suffers of depression and is taking medication; i cried hearing these things.
I can't imagine getting surgery to change my genitals and then regretting it for the rest of my life. He's so brave to tell his story. This podcast can save so many people who are considering surgery and didn't have this content to view a few years ago
The Hollywood image of a woman is fake. Everything about what makes a sexy woman is a fraud because of the Hollywood business of fraud and magazine fraud images that are fake because of makeup, fake hair, lighting and cropping and altering of the images! Some men as well as women have become critical of their bodies because of trying to match up with Hollywood images of people who don't really exist. They are altered and fake so people get caught believing the lie. Most men don't want nor need the Hollywood female. They are attracted to normal females, without those perfect figures and fake nails and fake boobs! Real women don't obsess over their looks 24/7. That isn't reality. So trans men stick out in the real world because of their mannerisms and appearance and how they speak. The stripper business gets most of the trans workers.
A big problem (UK) is that many people arrive at therapy so committed to an idea that when you try to do some work around exploring other issues, they won't listen or engage and view it as invalidation or denying access rather than a therapist doing their job. They also utilise their distress to create urgency and panic and rush the process, and many therapists have become fearful of being viewed as invalidating to the client. I think we might have forgotten how to challenge people.
I said the exact same thing, less politically correct, in another statement. I’ll go so far as to say it’s seeking out a fantasy, or fairy-tale solution to childhood trauma as well as attempts to change, or remove oneself from the Sturm & Drang of modern life.
Shapeshifter I’ve listened to you on another interview You are very important and instrumental to getting the experience out there so others can see how risky it is It has so many downfalls and makes a person medically dependent. The surgery can bring many unexpected surgeries You are appreciated
Tragic. Need more stories like this to be available so these confused kids can understand exactly how big a decision it is and how bad the consequences can get. You can always get the surgery. You can't fully reverse it. That decision can wait.
@lemonssssssss4 true! and how long the decision process take place in reality and not after a drag queen show in school or boys wearing girl cloths...i also loved to take my brothers when i was a kid..this dont means anything!!!
At 49:00 "The essence of a woman has been reduced to the extraction of synthetic estrogen and that's a false reductionist way of thinking. That is dangerous" That's powerful statement right there
@@rebeccarambo2893 I don’t mean to be tried but I have heard many trans activist say That D transitioning was extremely rare. That’s not what I’m seeing. And the medical problems that this person had sustained is truly catastrophic. For this reason, I do not believe children can give informed consent. I’m all for live and let live and if someone has dysphoria so severe that they need to present as the opposite gender, I’m fine with that. My issue is children
So amazing. Thank you for this. As a straight woman, I speak from experience after having my own plastic surgery that it doesn't fix anything. Good for you for speaking up and just remember it's not transphobic. It's an honest, personal experience. You are allowed to share it. Especially if it helps a child make a decision to wait until they are in a better mental space to decide.
Watching this, I am so glad i didn't fully transition. That was so going to be me and i feel heart broken for you and just want to give you thousands of huggies xxx At 30 i decided to start hormones with the end goal of having bottom surgery but i met an amazing girl and I ended up throwing away my hormones before trying one and i now have 5 beautiful kids and although i still have a severe case of gender dysphoria, i have learnt to be at peace with it. It's still not an ideal life cause i desperately want to be a genetic female which unfortunately and obviously will never happen but i am ok and my body is as it has always been and my mind is coping. Trans is a hard and torturous life so leave the kids out of it and stop promoting it. There are not many people like me but now for the first time at 50 years of age i believe i made the right decision. Thank you for helping me understand that the grass probably wouldn't have been greener. You both are so beautiful and lovely and i just want to say I love both so much xxx
Me too. Thank you for sharing your story. I also chose to live in my birth body in spite of my gender dysphoria and I am so thankful for my kids and my husband- but I do still struggle with the labels and roles people/society push. And people are so cruel on both sides. Right wingers patronize and belittle me, but left wingers literally hate me and call me names and utter death threats. Thank you for sharing because although I’m so sorry you go through this too it’s nice to hear someone with an experience like mine. But I agree with you- it’s not OK to dip other people in our pain just so we can attempt to feel accepted and understood. I’d rather just grow thicker skin and be OK with being unique instead of ruining other kids and people by pushing this ideology on people who may never have struggled with this otherwise.
Wow. Good for you. Thanks for sharing. I think you have so much to be grateful for. It seems to me you dodged a bullet and that the grass definitely isn’t greener on the other side. 🫶
@@lili-kayypark5577 I’m glad you avoided this as well. I guess I fall onto the right at this point and I feel like y’all have been used to help a political agenda. It’s not fair and it’s not okay. I have absolutely no ill will towards adults that do what they want to do and feel like that’s probably the majority but sadly there’s always going to be hateful people out there. I say this also as a Christian and only mention that because I want people to know that most don’t care what people do personally but rather are concerned about the kids. You seem to have a clear understanding of why that is. I’m glad there’s accounts such as this so real people can message and have a better understanding. I think most people want the best for one another and are just trying to get through their own life problems. Best wishes to you. 🫶
Thank you for telling me, for a while I too got the feelings of gender dysphoria due to not meeting the standard of femininity according to society. But I never choose to ever transition or take hormones because I knew even if it was a glimpse, or if I hated my appearance there would be someone who loved me for me just as much as you found someone that loves you for you. Despite the dysphoria I can tell you're proud of yourself for over coming a choice that could of been peer pressure and even though you struggle you're doing amazing. Promise ^_^
Just taking birth control made me asexual. I started at 13 and took it till 23. There was little desire/lubrication/orgasm at all. Even after I quit taking it for 10 years this state persisted. Only after I managed to get pregnant did my system reset and I had a real puberty and was finally able to enjoy sex. Hormones are no joke.
Similar situation here. I was forced on birth control because I am autistic and my parents didn’t want to deal with , and I quote, “my autistic hormones”???? So I was forced on bc, gained 175 pounds, was an emotionless zombie… I was on depo for 5-6 years starting at the age of 13! I am now 21 and struggling to get pregnant. I am sincerely hoping that that shit didn’t fuck me up as bad as I hear that it can. :((( I feel so broken as a woman. I want a huge family with tons of happy little kids that came from MY belly. Nothing against adoption it’s just not for me, not for any moral reasons I just want my own kids! And I feel so sad and empty. :( I’m glad that you say when you got pregnant everything kind of reset though. I’m doing everything right, I can only hope now. ✨ 🤗 xoxoxo thank you for helping me not feel crazy and alone. 🫶🏽
I took birth control for acne then started painting as soon as I got off. I cried in art class when I was on birth control because I couldn’t feel creative until I got off.
i started BC in my mid 20s because of very painful periods that i later learned were caused by ovarian cysts. i was on it for almost 4 years, and for almost the entire time i was on it, my already low sex drive disappeared completely and i literally couldnt orgasm. i also gained a lot of weight. when i stopped taking BC i realized just how much it was affecting me. my periods still havent returned to ‘normal’ over a year later. its been rough and i regret ever taking it. i was never told any of that could happen; i mean i was old enough to know that hormones werent something inconsequential, but BC is so common and pushed so heavily that i figured it couldnt actually be anything bad or harmful. i genuinely think that women are often just an afterthought when it comes to medical care, even when its sex-specific. unfortunately i think trans people are being similarly used and abused.

When I went in BC it was because I was sexually active in my early 20s so. As an overweight person who has struggled with my weight all my life, losing the weight changed NOTHING about how I feel about my body. I still look in the mirror and see obesity. I find this content ULTRA important. Body image is so complicated. Blaire, I am so glad I watched this. Not only does it help me as a biological female to understand the struggle of trans women, this is going to help a lot of trans youth make better informed choices. Thank you!
Both Blair and Shapeshifter are beautiful. Not just physically but in their personality. I can’t relate to being transgender but as an almost 60 year old woman I can understand feeling like I wasn’t beautiful enough. Finally as I approach 60 I am learning to accept myself. I am thankful to Blair and Shapeshifter for being open about their struggles. I want only the best for both of them.
@A Don't sell yourself so short. You are beautiful too. Clearly your husband thinks you are because he helped you create your child, and that in itself is beautiful.
Wow your guest has been through a lot. I’m glad your shedding light of this topic. Many people just need someone to talk to that can help them appreciate themselves as they are. Learning to be patient and also like your guest said think critically about things that have life long ramifications is so important. Most people go through so many changes mentally and physically during puberty and in to their 20s. However with age, increased knowledge, life experience we become more confident in who are and more self aware. And so it’s very understandable that many people end up regretting changing elements of themselves irreversibly.
It's so frustrating that there are people out there who deem the use of the phrase "social contagion" in this context as hateful. It is so obvious to anyone paying attention that social influence plays a role in these ideations, and likely a large role. To try to hide or prevent that discussion is what is hateful. You should want anyone to be as fully informed as possible before they ever make a decision, especially one that is so literally life altering and permanent as this.
“Social contagion” in NO context is inherently hateful! It is what it is. People need to stop assuming/assigning subtext to language that is neutral by nature. I share your frustration, friend.
Just because you like feminine things or masculine things, it doesn't make you the opposite gender. Being a femboy or tomboy is perfectly fine. Being androgynous is perfectly fine. Don't let people convince you that you need to chop off for feel happy
Hopping under this comment to say just because you like things typically associated with the sex you were born as doesn't make you any less trans if you experience gender dysphoria. As a transsexual man who likes to have long hair and dresses I thought I was going insane for a long time because I didn't want to allow myself to view myself as a man. Because how can I be a man if I like dresses? Well there are a lot of man out there who like dresses. The dysphoria wasn't any less present just because I enjoy feminine things. Hobbies and Interests don't define gender. You can be a biological woman liking trucks. That's fine and pretty cool at that and doesn't make you any less of a woman. You can also be a trans woman who likes trucks. That doesn't make you any less worthy of medical treatment.
@@Mikey_was_here ffs. There is no such thing as trans, just people who are immensely unhappy with themselves. It's terribly sad, but it doesn't change who you are. Nothing will. No surgery, hormones, or clothes can make you the opposite sex.
@@Madonnalitta1 Being trans is a medical issue. There's gender dysphoria which is a medical condition. Otherwise people who are trans wouldn't have a reason to be unhappy in their body. Of course nothing you do will make you the opposite sex. You're right with that. But there are things that can lessen the medical condition like clothes, hormones and surgeries.
Finally some sense. You can still be a be a man or a woman or non-binary regardless of what phenotypical traits your body possesses. Your actions have no bearing on your gender. Also thank you so much for giving me permission to be androgynous oh mighty one, I highly appreciate that from a weeble who speaks from such confidence, as if they are the leader of the trans community, oh thank you for letting me express myself in this way as your opinion carries so much weight for me. I'm so glad tomboys and femboys can exist thanks to you! If one wishes to have vaginoplasty or have mammoplasty that is up to the individual and shouldn't be forced on anyone. I'm glad it was my choice to replace my genitalia instead of having others force me to keep it.
This needs to be seen by everyone. It's sad that this is happening to humans, period. No matter your sex or sexual orientation, we should be protecting each other from the darkness. Shape Shifter you are saving lives, and you're spreading the right information. Thank you Blair ❤️
Instead, what a lot of people do is shine a light in the darkness, a pitch black room, then tell a young confused person "Look!! There is plenty of light in there! You can be free and happy in there!!!". Then when the young impressionable manipulated person is in the room, they leave with their flashlight and shut the door.
I literally was thinking every parent should see this video. We need to protect our kids (the new generation). This is awful, I feel so bad that so many think that getting reassignment surgery will be so amazing and in reality it leads to the worst. I have 3 boys. And I would always love my kids no matter there preference but I would feel awful if this situation happened to one of them. Also I wonder the impact of depression/suicide rate that comes from the aftermath.
@@kassijones3519 Just wait until that new generation grows up a little bit. Its terrifying to think about how some of them may react to being let down by the ones who were supposed to love and protect them.
I really appreciate he admits that he doesn't know what it is like to be a woman... He knew what it was like to be a man on estrogen. I love his honesty! We need to create a space for transwomen to just be transwomen so they arent trying to be real women. The body mutilation stories are so sad!! My god, it is so horrible. The other thing that is causing problems is biological men in women's sports and pageants. If this were to stop, transpeople would have so much more support from women.
"Sometimes the bitter truth is better than a sweet lie". Wow, I felt that. 😟 Very real and I couldn't be more sympathetic to his life experiences. This really opens one's eyes to see the darker side of the negative and real effects of transitioning. I feel terrible knowing this is happening to so many people and they're just believing in a lie. Yeah, I am so,so sorry that he went through all this. I really hope that things do get better for him somehow. I know that he’ll never fully recover but I really do wish him the best.
You hit the nail on the head with the term "Social Disphoria," that's exactly what it is! I grew up in San Fransisco back in the 1970's, in a way things were lot freer back then. In the LGBT community gender stereo types were not rigid like they are today. Gender nonconformity regarding clothing was not an issue. Not having to define ourselves with gender labels felt healthy and incredibly liberating. Men could wear make up and dresses, and women hiking boots and flannel shirts. People dressed and lived how ever they wanted and were accepted, and more importantly we felt empowered by accepting ourselves. No one contemplated radical surgery . The focus was on breaking rigid gender stereo types, not reinforcing them. Giving people more freedom to be themselves. The women's movement fought long and hard towards dismantling harmful cultural attitudes, and PR ad firms, that manipulate and undermine our self worth and confidence, make us ashamed of, or even hate our own bodies for not living up to some patriarchal ideal, then of course selling a cure for something they created. I wish us all the best finding some peace in this chaotic world
I just wanted to give Shape a big hug and let this person know all will be well. Shape seems like a great person. And Blaire KILLED it with this amazing interview and commentary.
his nervous laugh is heartbreaking... i wish i could hug him and hold his hand. it's super courageous of him to tell all. i feel like saying i'm sorry is not enough compared to what he had gone through.
Her laughing mixed with crying at the end actually broke me. I’m listening to this at work right now. Poor baby ☹️. She’s so sad and trying to just laugh it away. I can’t. This is heartbreaking. Sweets need a hug i literally cry
On the surgeon's side of everything, we get lambasted for discouraging transitional surgery or even suggesting getting a psychological eval before surgeries. Surgeons are encouraged to learn about transitional surgery but we don't know long term consequences yet, there hasn't been enough longitudinal studies. We also don't know enough about corrective surgeries or trying to reverse some of the worse side effects enough to suggest transitional surgery in my opinion.
That’s why it blows my mind when patients have to sign off on “informed consent”. There’s not enough information out there to be fully informed. So you’re just giving consent… Not informed consent because you, as a patient, know just about as much as the doctors know at this point
There is no followup for these patients. The surgeries should be classified as experimental. So patients know the true risks and lifelong obligations they are agreeing to
@vee to ultimately decimate the existence of the traditional family unit and rattle our individual sense of selves, and something to fight over while the powers that be implement more nefarious things upon us covertly. By the time people wake tf up it is going to be too late.
This is so heartbreaking. I hope he knows that he's a beautiful soul and finds peace in this lifetime. He deserves it. Thank you for the honest dialogue.
When he said he was living as a "caricature of a woman" wow.. but yeah he's right. Who says what a man or woman are in the terms of gender expression? He can be a man but like makeup, do you boo! This idea of "only women like makeup" or other such ideas make people think they might be trans when they just like things that are not stereotypical. I was always a tomboy.. I dont like a lot of "traditionally feminine" things.. and thats ok. Im not less of a woman and he's not less of a man. We can just like things!
That's exactly it, I don't feel much different to the men in my life because I've always had more traditionally masculine interests. I said in another comment reply I find it difficult to define what makes me feel like a woman, I only know what it feels like to be me. The defining point for me personally is periods and the hormones that come with being biologically female. However not all biological women experience the things that come with being a biological woman. There isn't one right way to define being a woman because we are all individuals.
@@Onyxxu20 there is actually an easy way to define being a woman. It’s an adult human female. Someone with XX chromosomes and was born with a vag*na. It’s pretty simple. But you are right it has nothing to do with how you dress or what your interests are.
Men have worn makeup in the past. Men have worn what we would now view as "dresses" in the past. Men have worn high heels in the past. The *difference* is that the makeup, the dresses the shoes, were (1) designed for the MALE body not a copy of female outfits (2) the men didnt pretend to BE women. Where Women have worn "masculine" looking clothing, they have made them FOR their female bodies not slavishly copied them from men. The sexed body does dictate the way a garment is made and this how its worn.
What a way to reduce women to their stereotypes all over again. We say women are more than high heels, make up, femininity, but men being told they can be fully women by… putting in a dress, wearing makeup, etc.
Honestly this a groundbreaking interview. The issues raised are so important. The bravery to do this interview is also incredible especially in this landscape
this is so sad. truly heartbreaking. there is nothing wrong in looking for help and when that “help” pushes you into non reversible surgery... thats another level! I hope you find some peace
I can relate in a way. I developed huge breasts aged 12 and it brought so much unwanted male attention (often adult males). I felt like my body had betrayed me & I resented having a big bust. I didn’t feel emotionally equipped for the change. Sending prayers of healing & inner peace.
I think a lot of girls feel that way when puberty hits and your breast develops more than "normal", the unwanted attention is overwhelming . Hope you feel better about yourself.💕

My heart goes out to you Shape and i pray for your healing body, soul and spirit. Every adult and child considering these surgeries, needs to hear your story. It will save lives. Medicine and big pharma is a business. Healthcare is creating lifelong patients. Its very telling your statement that this is the only medical issue where patients pick their own treatment plan. This makes the individual responsible for the outcome... rather than the doctors. Its also telling that costly hormones create other serious and painful health problems like osteoporosis. More medication for life. Corporate greed creating a generation of sterile hurting people. Where are the medical studies about those detransistioning? We should be demanding that be a requirement of all medical practitioners involved in this speciality. God bless both these intelligent caring brave beauties. Blaire, you are a national hero. As someone in my 50s I think everyone has something to overcome to truly accept ourselves. everyone feels like an outcast at times or in some ways. The goal is learning to accept ourselves. Not changing our original blueprint.
...the general system of the medical system, is in fact malpractice....it's just people have been indoctrinated to think it's actually good. Bandaid approaches always muck things up in the end.
I have body dysmorphic disorder and I’m not trans but I always wonder if this is how trans people feel. I just got back from Korea after having plastic surgery and as I’m all swollen and in regret- I look at my old photos and suddenly see someone that was perfect the way she was. I never feel beautiful and I feel like my body is not how I feel but I know what I have is an illness. I have had a lot of plastic surgery and I’m so depressed. I feel like every time I wish I never touched myself. Surgery is permanent. You can’t undo it so matter how hard you try and you go down a rabbit hole and make things worse trying to undo. God bless anyone who have any dysmorphia. It’s so hard and it’s not your fault.
I'm so sorry for what you've been through. I think there's a culture that encourages people to get surgery or change their gender or their look because that'll make them happier, it might sometimes but I think it's better to just choose to be content with how God made us.
@@sarahberkner I agree and thank you for the kindness and love. After having my surgeries I just see my flawed old face as more beautiful and charming. So sorry and sad to read about your experience. It seems that whether you choose bottom surgery or not, life is excruciatingly difficult. God bless you for your honesty. It seems to me that starting with sorting out your head and emotions before surgery might prevent people living a sexless, depressed and often suicidal life.
I struggle with some body dysmorphia. I have been playing with the idea of plastic surgeries. Like little "touch-ups". But, like you said, surgery is permanent... I'm nit in a position to even afford anything so.... Maybe being poor is saving me from myself 😅

No one ignores and silences them. The truth is a lot of research has been done and the rate of regret is 1-2 %. It is horrible this happens but it is not typical.
I am not sure why people don't admit that these doctors are basically experimenting with these surgeries.

Jeffree himself has said that pronouns don't matter to him nor do gender labels. He just identifies as androgynous.

Like you said compassion can go a LONG way.

“Difficult” = “causing problems for me and my reputation”
It's very normal. It doesn't matter the area of medicine. A lot of doctors won't go in and fix other doctors work. Not just trans doctors. It's why it's particularly dangerous to go overseas for surgery - if they make mistakes, a local doctor won't touch you.
It's not really that they see you as a difficult patient, more that they just don't want the hassle or possible negative reputation that comes with trying to attempt to fix a botched surgery.
Is it right? I see both sides. It absolutely sucks for the patient, but I also get where the Dr is coming from.
Yes, doctors can be real monsters.
Oh they care about is the cash. If they cared about the person they wouldn't be doing the surgery in the first place. It is insane to me how such a simple and technically “small“ surgery still has so many affects on my body and forever will, yet we are allowing children to drastically change their bodies natural inclination. STOP their puberty, introduce hormones their bodies are NOT built to handle, and permanently change their body parts. My gait is different, joints are different, stability and general mobility is different. Just from simple foot surgery. TRANS SURGERY AND HRT IS NO JOKE AND ITS NOTHING TO DO IN THE HEAT OF THE MOMENT.
Spiral fractured fibula/ severe sprain of the ankle: 2 surgeries to correct it & I have a fallen arch, a deformation in the ankle itself (due to the fallen arch) & permanent nerve damage (pain, burning & numbness) from the incisions).
Fractured clavicle: 1 surgery (so far) to correct it & I have permanent nerve damage (pain, burning & numbness) from the incision.
I cannot fathom WHY anyone would wish to voluntarily go under the knife for anything except physical medical necessity.
Good to know because that’s something I have considered before
@@BM-fz9yc I can honestly say that in my case it was necessary because they were really bad long before I had the surgeries. The reason that they were bad was because my tendon has just about zero stretch. It is rock solid literally. So I had to get it done, but because my tendon still is essentially all but immobile, The stretch on it due to the bunion ectomy‘s has caused pull in other areas. If you have bunions due to age, because you wear heels a lot, but you have pretty decent mobility in your tendon (a good way to check is sit in a squatting position with your toes pointed straight out, if your heels touch the floor you’re good) Bunionectomy, definitely go for it because bunions can cause a lot of issues. I never had that mobility in a crouched position, and I still don’t, so while the bunionectomy helped in some areas it has changed everything I mentioned before

Holy shit. I never been super pro trans and maybe at times I been very vocal and ignorant about it. This video really gave me 1. A deeper understanding of Trans ppl 2. A more educated and compassionate way of looking at transgender people. 3. It’s really sad how society pushes this narrative to make money, instead of really help ppl understand what is going on and if transitioning is really the right choice for them. We keep pushing all this pro movement, without the research and education to make sure that it’s the right way to go.
The saddest part of this whole film is the sad little laughs every time Shapeshifter says something really traumatic or painful. I feel so sorry for him - he's been so badly let down by the so-called doctors and the whole stupid "affirmation only" policy.

Heartbreaking. My spouse is a psychologist and works with men who wish to transition. He said he is going to have them watch this powerful interview. Thank you, Shapeshifter.
Thank you, Blaire.
What is the solution? Then? For someone who is truly trans?
Then he's a good psychologist; providing your patients ALL information in the matter is key to them making a real informed decision. If someone makes a decision on something without knowing the all the potential consequences (pros/cons), then they made a manipulated "decision".
@@tarcisiasiniscalchi6641
They need to be fully educated on all the possible risks BEFORE making any permanent changes to their bodies and as Blair's guess said, no doctor checked on his past trauma as a kid, which would have provided a lot of answers as to why he wanted to "transition" in the first place.
@@tarcisiasiniscalchi6641 then theyll be completely sure that they are trans. Someone who isnt, will reconsider. Blaire is happy with her decision, yet she didnt get the bottom surgery. Shape is such a well spoken and intellectual human. It is so refreshing to listen to this intelligent conversation about such an incredibly complex topic.
42:00 Blair, there's nothing wrong with not knowing what it is like to be an actual woman, there's something wrong with claiming you do when you don't. That's why you are watchable. Because you are honest and don't gaslight women and say you are exactly the same as us.
It takes emotional intelligence
Exactly. Blaire not being biologically female isn’t something I hold against her. As Blaire has said before she wouldn’t have it any other way and she’s ok with being a transwoman. It’s part of the reason why she has a major female following, because Blaire doesn’t gaslight as you said.
you can say female instead of "actual woman". she's a woman, just a trans one.
Well said!! Probably the best comment I’ve read!! Why do people do this gaslighting shit? So crazy!!

this really hits home. i am a detrans woman and lesbian, and just the similarities while detransitioning as well as transitioning is...insane. there are SO many similarities that play out between men detransitioning and women detransitioning. not everything is the same, clearly. but just listening to him speak, the emotion, the regrets, this all speaks to me.
thank you for doing detransitioning stories. we often get shut down, called transphobic, our stories don't matter, we were never True Trans so we actually don't know anything, yadda yadda. but this allows us to get it out there, hopefully helping others from making the same regrets a lot of us have.
Because the root of this evil is mysogyny and homophobia.
What is very worrying, a woman on the scene said ''Lesbians are all Transing~ out''.... When I was young, ''Butch'' lesbians were just normal... but now it seems getting hormones and surgery is the way to go. Physically harmful to bones.
Sending you so much love 💛
Sorry you weren't trans to begin with, we need to keep saying you need gender dysphoria to be trans, this is why there is so many detransitioners
What’s crazy is if doctors and others weren’t influencing young people to transition in the first place then there wouldn’t even be as many people de transitioning. As a mother it makes me so angry that it’s literally being pushed on children
I hate when people say that detransitioners detract from the trans movement. It’s not true. The fact is people who decide to detransition are still very much a part of the trans community and it’s SO important that we lift these people up and hear their story.
Trans people only have a problem wirh detransitioners when they try and ban transioning as a whole cause realistically they are the 99% of people statically are happy with gender affirming care. It's like saying you had botched plastic surgery therefore all plastic surgery is bad. Or you had a bad doctor so therefore all doctors are bad

Thank you both for this real talk.
That is so tragic. 😥
So true
I said the exact same thing, less politically correct, in another statement. I’ll go so far as to say it’s seeking out a fantasy, or fairy-tale solution to childhood trauma as well as attempts to change, or remove oneself from the Sturm & Drang of modern life.

It is so obvious to anyone paying attention that social influence plays a role in these ideations, and likely a large role. To try to hide or prevent that discussion is what is hateful. You should want anyone to be as fully informed as possible before they ever make a decision, especially one that is so literally life altering and permanent as this.
Yeah, they deserved way more options than "JUST DO THIS". Due to the rampant bullying a lot don't want to speak up, they deserved so much better.

This really opens one's eyes to see the darker side of the negative and real effects of transitioning. I feel terrible knowing this is happening to so many people and they're just believing in a lie. I'm glad he's brave to speak the truth about his experiences. His story will definitely not be forgotten nor fade. He's going to help so many people by sharing his story. Thank you Blaire for doing the right thing. I knew I liked you for a reason. 💖💖💖
Yeah, I am so,so sorry that he went through all this. I really hope that things do get better for him somehow. I know that he’ll never fully recover but I really do wish him the best.
I'm straight not heartless. My heart genuinely goes out to people like this. Y'all are in my prayers.
I wish us all the best finding some peace in this chaotic world
Such great points. Everyone should be free to be themselves, exactly how they are inside and out
I just wanted to give Shape a big hug and let this person know all will be well.
Right I was thinking the same thing poor thing has a nervous laugh and so much anxiety I feel so sorry for him!
@@d.l831 informed consent is just a "get out of jail" card at this point
We need surgeons speaking up about this issue. The hippocratic oath demands it.
There is no followup for these patients. The surgeries should be classified as experimental. So patients know the true risks and lifelong obligations they are agreeing to
It shouldn’t even go to a surgeon before the psychological side is addressed, but I think it’s malpractice not to fully advise of the risks.
There is a massive social experiment going on and I feel for those that get caught up in it. Wishing you all the best!
It's not an experiment. The drive for it is very purposeful.
@vee to ultimately decimate the existence of the traditional family unit and rattle our individual sense of selves, and something to fight over while the powers that be implement more nefarious things upon us covertly.
By the time people wake tf up it is going to be too late.
@vee it's also to lead into acceptance of paedophilia and animal relationships as well via desensitisation to weird shit.
Shape is so incredibly articulate and brilliant. He's got so much to give to the world. Take care and keep your head up x
This is so heartbreaking. I hope he knows that he's a beautiful soul and finds peace in this lifetime. He deserves it. Thank you for the honest dialogue.
My heart goes out to ShapeShifter. Their story literally is crying out to be acknowledged.
The irreversible harm being done to a generation is tragic
It’s intentional.
@@Ava-rb4cnI agree it's absolutely intentional
Our younger generation is being used as human test subjects
It's like a slaughter of our youth.
Real Women can conceive
I absolutely adore these 2 beautiful humans. THANK YOU for being brave and bold!!! You are both so appreciated and loved 💕
@@annhans3535 Thank you Ann 💙. I’m 46 now & have learned to accept things the way they are. I’m a little underweight right now but I’m getting there slowly….. wishing you a blessed weekend 🙏🏻💙

Every type of surgery has complications and risks and to deny that is medical malpractice.
...the general system of the medical system, is in fact malpractice....it's just people have been indoctrinated to think it's actually good.
Sending u hugs 🫂 😥🫂
I'm so sorry for what you've been through. I think there's a culture that encourages people to get surgery or change their gender or their look because that'll make them happier, it might sometimes but I think it's better to just choose to be content with how God made us.
@@sarahberkner I agree and thank you for the kindness and love. After having my surgeries I just see my flawed old face as more beautiful and charming. My new face is ‘prettier’ but it’s not what God gave me. I don’t see my fathers nose anymore or my grandmothers eyes. Everyone’s natural bodies tell a story. It’s a rough time to be alive when it seems looks matter more than ever, but I truly believe a tipping point is among us and we need to continue to be open and tell our stories to help others 🙏🏽🤍✨
I’m not trans but I appreciate that there are people bringing issues like surgery and risks related factors many trans people struggle with to light
Just stumbled across your channel, love it, keep it up. Emotional recognition.
