    4mm retraction at 35mm/sec is what is heard here. Thanks. Will this suite PETG as well ?

    Thank you for this great series of videos that are short and to the point for someone who is new to printing, that wants to dial in prints. One thing you should mention is that these steps need to be done for each and every filliment you use. A good reason to find a filliment that works well for you and stick with it.

      Great point, thanks for the tip! We tend to use the settings until we start to notice clear issues with print quality. But, as we switch between types of filament PLA vs Nylon X, for example, we will do this again.

      @@CADclassOfficial any reason you wouldn't be using the latest release of Cura? I know that the features and addons are all avaiable in 5.2

    Hi, great video and for noob very clear and concise, love you videos for this reason. Only thing I seem to miss, watch multiple times to see where missed. I printed the 10x Towers, I marked on 2x where best layer without stringing. Im bit lost what Im keying into the setting, so for tower 20mm, best layer is 2. Would that mean im keying setting of Retraction Distance 2mm with Retraction Speed 20mm thus tower/row best I have?
    PS: Be great to see Cura 5.4 video and the list of key top 3 calibrations to do for new printer, head or filament and in what order as no one seems to have your clarity or provide clear order of steps to do. Subscribed in the hope of more :)

    I have done a bunch of these now and I always get the best result on the first level is that unusual around 30 - 35

    you helped me a lot with this smart way to dial the perfect retraction. thank you very much. I have something else in mind too. I wish the heating of the bed would turn off 10 minutes before the printing is finished. can it be done?

    so once i do the first one and see a value that looks good i then put that as the retraction distance and then try it with increasing speeds of 5 till it looks good

    Nice video, how did you do to make the videohints appear when you travel accross slicer options? I mean, each comment of every option of slider has an animation.

      "settings guide" by Ghostkeeper makes it so when you hover over a setting, it shows a lot of info including photos. hope that helps.

    If I have 4 identical Ender 3 pros and want to use a single gcode that works right for each one do I need to make unique profiles for each printer or is there some way to each each printer calibrated so all four will print the same model at the same quality?

    • @sjorlando7282
      @sjorlando7282 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can use 1 profile across all 4 to start. But you are likely to find slight variances between machines that you have to tweak. These things arent built with tight tolerances. But make sure all 4 have e steps dialed in first, that eliminates 1 issue. And then run PID on each hot end. Then dial in 1 printer. Use the test tower on Pinrter 2. - same settings. Does it work? ,... etc.

      @@sjorlando7282 yea i've wondered about the esteps or each.. three of them for the most part are fine. a clog now and then but i've gotten very efficient at nozzle replacement. i try to give a nozzle a second chance so i don't always replace immediately, but two strikes you're out.

    Why is your “maximum retraction count” set to 1000? Is this just for testing or do you leave it at that number. My stock setting was 10.

    • @CADclassOfficial
      @CADclassOfficial  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good catch. We were printing hundreds of small parts for a client and needed to increase the number of retractions per layer on the build plate. As long as you're not reaching the maximum, that number doesn't matter.

    • @peebs2424
      @peebs2424 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@CADclassOfficial would it be fine to set it at 100? So the limit is never reached?
      Also do you use combing and disable z hop?

    How do do let the value of 38 in Change Layer setting and 5 in Change Layer offset? Each section is 48 layers and using 0.2mm for each layer, that should be 9.8mm height to make a change in the retraction distance.😮😮

    • @Appregator
      @Appregator 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      48x0.2mm = 9.6mm . I am not sure how the offset works. Is it 5x0.2mm = 1.0mm ?? Is it added or subtracted ?
