  • What it do TH-cam?! Traded my 2021 Subaru WRX for this 2023 Chevy Colorado Trail Boss. Roughly 100 miles in right now and wanted to share my initial thoughts and do a quick review.
Truck is far from a base model and I have the following:
    Convenience I Package
    Convenience II Package
    Safety Package
    Technology Package
Not everything you see in the video is included in every 2023 Colorado Trail Boss, something to keep in mind.
I'll check in again as soon as I have any mods, go offroading, or have a better impression of the truck.
    Stay classy, San Diego.
‪@TFLtruck‬ Andre, no shots meant to be fired discussing the cruise control ;)

With my 2023 trailboss on initial start up it revs a little hi like 1500 rpm then about 15 sec later in comes down to 7 or 800, but doesn't do it after ive been driving it, starting and stopping, was just wondering if yours does this?

  • @professor_farnsworth

Picked up the WT version in the same color with the tech and convenience packages. Was able to use the supplier discount to get it about $1500 below MSRP. So about 34k before taxes. Not bad. I’ll add the TB wheels/tires, flares and maybe the lift later on. Mine is also just 2WD but I’ve never once needed 4wd since I started driving 25 years ago. So figured I’d just save the cash.
Anyways, loving the truck so far. I Had the high output tune done earlier today.

Nice truck. Looking for a TB myself. Upgrade those halogens with some led bulbs 💡. Will make a big difference. Although I’ve seen some reviews where people say the factory headlights are pretty bright. The look doesn’t bother me so much compared to some of the competitors. Ram, Jeep, Ford halogens look a lot older than these. Enjoy that beauty!

Yeah definitely check out a TB! Overall it's a great truck (so far) and I'm really enjoying it.
The halogens aren't terrible, definitely miles better than any halogens were 10 years ago, but LEDS should still be the norm by now in my opinion.

As a long ford fan, Chevy knocked it out the park. Comparing to the new ranger and the new Tacoma. Both of them are nice but they don’t offer what this does. If they’d make it have cruise control I’d buy it. As a ford fan as stated I think ford messed up with the ranger with no rear ac vents when their global ranger does have them. And the Colorado has them! Come on ford!

I was so close to ordering one of these and decided not to. I bought a '23 Nissan Frontier Pro-4x instead. This thing is missing so many features that should be standard or at least optional.
No heated seats. Can't get their fake leather seats with the tech or second convenience package. Every contact point looks and feels cheap. Its really a shame.
Also, active fuel management on a 4-cylinder? Come on.
I optioned the truck I was going to order out to about $44,500. Purchased my Pro-4X for about the same after incentives and talking the dealer down (48,150 msrp). It came with every single thing the Colorado was missing, and I got a 3.8l v6 without fuel management, instead of a 4 cylinder that turns into a 2? cylinder on the highway. This isn't a plug for the Pro-4x, its just ridiculous how badly they missed the mark on this trim level.

As to his problem he had pluggeed in an aftermarket electronics device measuring speed, tac, gps etc in the reader port left side and that threw out computer. Simple disconnect of battery to reset computer and all was back to normal and has been since so don't make out Colorado has major issue

Haha a 40k plus truck with a manual sliding rear glass window. Come on chevy you could learn something so simple from toyota, My 2023 Tacoma Ted off road truck has a powered rear sliding window. Also why the heck would you not have a physical button to turn on the headlights!

Agreed. Rubber steering wheel, meh. Mines actually broken in a bit and has a bit of a different texture now. Could always throw a cover on it if you really want. You could throw all the shade you want on Tacomas, never been a fan of those trucks 🤢. I'm just upset that GM and Ford build such terrible vehicles for the American market. I've seen GM and Ford vehicles in Europe and Latin America, and I am quite impressed. GM and Ford throw us a refreshed grille every other year and we Americans jump for joy like if they care about us. Europeans and some markets in Latin America won't put up with the cheap interiors that GM and Ford give us in the USA. For God's sake, around 9 years ago, I jumped in a Chevy Cruze taxi in Portugal and the car had leather seats, heated rear seats with AC vents, turbo engine, HID projector headlights that self adapted with turns and built in sunshades in the rear doors...over 9 years ago! I understand our outdated federal transportation laws put a damper on what can be produced for the American market, but c'mon.
