Old school to me is when families stuck together in good & bad times. And children & young adults had respect for their parents/grand parents. Actually for all people. And words that were spoken weren't filled with trash & filth. I can't imagine speaking to the elders in my life like they do today. And it's not just the young either. It's older adults too. It really saddens me to no end. I actually am fearful for my adult children & my grandchildren because the world is so crazy now. I wish the young ones in my life could have experienced how it was back when. We weren't rich in material things but we did indeed have respect & morals.

I get the jist of this. And i love it. My fave shows as a little girl were Little House or even the Brady Bunch. Why? Because they loved one another so much. They did all they could & stuck things out. Ive never seen that before. Ive never known a parent or family member, including myself & all my sibs, whom werent divorced or had just bad relationships. Its actually almost our tradition! Sad. But i am happy to say that ive been with my bf for 13 yrs soon & am ready to believe this upcoming marriage (#4!) will last for the rest of my life. He puts up with me lol! And im pleased my son has witnessed a healthy relationship we’ve had from when he was a baby now.. i pray for him to have a wonderful
Happy marriage. This is prob one of the ONLY , i think, country songs I LIKED! Maybe its the sentiment which tugs at my heart strings but i really enjoyed this .. TY!!! I LIKED a country tune, u did it!! Or whomever requested, kudos. It took almost a year of really trying to , im so psyched!

I grew up on John Conlee. This guy and his songs (he has many great songs), are among the many reasons why I keep saying that country music had a golden age, that ended a few decades ago.
It is not a "personal opinion", it is a simple fact. The music was vastly better then...across the board. Every genre. Not just country either.
Back then you couldn't just get "anything" recorded or put on the radio.
We need to get the musical standards back!
(And I thought the same thing when I was a teenager, and was watching the good music slowly going away to the Oldies stations, replaced by lesser music. It took me right with it, as I was leaving Junior High school, at the beginning of the 80s. Because I wasn't going to lower my musical standards.)

John Conlee is a really nice guy. He came to our small towns "Western Days" a few years ago and performed for the town. Afterwards he stayed around for pictures and autographs and just visited with us. He is real down to earth. And just as a side note, He sounded as good as he did 40 years ago...Maybe better!!!

This is the first time I've heard this. Wow, what a beautiful song. Good morals and values definitely need to return.
Just remember, the clock's pendulum swings both ways. History shows this. When things go too far one way, the pendulum always swings back the other way. I think we're getting close to that point.

Ty my friend for reacting to this great song , I had never heard of him before this but what a wonderful heart felt true song, I am very much from the old school where when i married my wife that was is it for me, no-one would or could have my heart the way my wife has mine...values from then are lost..as it is very rare to find those who are like us, totally wholesomely devoted to one another..so when we meet couples and can see they are just like us they become a part of our lives, as nothing compares to being in love with just the perfect soul to share a life with forever
Keep Well keep Strong My friend
