This brought tears to my eyes. This great! Great job guys! Your grandfathers are proud of you! With young new like you traditional country will never die.
My first thought was, "Well he's no Waylon." I grew up with the music of Waylon and Willie so I'm partial. Then I kept listening. Both have amazing voices and the longer you listen you close your eyes and damn if they didn't sound just like them. Hats off guys you sound amazing. Someone give these guys a platform we need more good strong male country voices.
I've always loved this song and man, that's the best cover of it I've ever heard, I dont care what these boys lineage is! I was touched when Whey put his hand on Thomas's shoulder at the end. These boys are good friends. You can tell that from that simple gesture. I'll definitely be doing a dig for their albums of original material, I'm sure they have had a lot to write about and set to music!
They both have pages with links to their own music. Thomas has TH-cam channel. Unfortunately haven't been able to see Whey, but Thomas is unbelievable in person! Great guy!
I see several comments from "old school" Country fans here and agree with them. My last radio show was top 40 Country. I love doing radio, but the music just sickened me. This is absolutely great!! You did your grandfathers a great justice. I hope to see more from you in the future.
Man, Whey has really come into his own, as this series of videos proves. This is a really good cover of "Highwayman" by Whey and Thomas. I'd love to hear them perform some other duets. It would be great if they recorded a new song, one that isn't overshadowed by the spirits of their grandfathers. Their talent is genuine, they're not imitators. It would be cool if they could team up with Lukas Nelson on something as well. Get Shooter Jennings in on it and that would really be something to hear. I'm just dreaming out loud over here.
get a Kristofferson in there, why add another Jennings, you have Thomas Gabriel and Whey Jennings, a cash, a Jennings, get Lukas Nelson and maybe a Kristofferson.
Nah. I don't think so. He's got lots of talent, he does, but the pain isn't there. Give him fifteen years though, and life will put it there. The emotion the originals put into it.... can't be learned, can't be taught. Can't be transferred. It just happens once you reach a certain point.
With Kris still being around and able to sing, but Willie kind of getting too old, it'd be nice to see a cover of this song with Lukas Nelson, Kris Reprising his verse, and then Whey and Thomas. That would really be something to behold! Edit: Actually, I just looked up Kris as of late, and he's getting to a similar state as Willie. I also didnt realize he officially retired at the start of this year. While I'm not too sure who could take his part (possibly one of his grandchildren) but it would still be an awesome cover!
Oh my! Just loved this! I'm in my 40s and this brings back memories of how country music sounded in my childhood. Just pure voices and instruments. So glad there are those who sing this way.
Wow, that is amazingly great gave me chills! So glad I was able to see there Grandpas sing but this really proves this song is true, we live on through our offspring. Its a cirle of our lives!!

Yes, I could hear their grandfathers in them.
O yes that would be TOTALLY AWESOME!
I was just thinking that myself
Nice profile pic.
I just got goosebumps hearing them sing as if they were the real Johnny cash and Waylon Jennings 😎👌
White Buffalo has a great cover. I believe it was for the Sons of Anarchy soundtrack.
They both have pages with links to their own music. Thomas has TH-cam channel. Unfortunately haven't been able to see Whey, but Thomas is unbelievable in person! Great guy!
@@Johnny_Dregs surprisingly, another good cover is by Ashley Campbell, Glen Campbell's daughter.
@@roadking0073 I will check it out. Thnx
I am so glad to see this legacy still very much alive today
I buy into that dream also.
I'm sharing that dream. Man, I love that they are carrying real music on.
get a Kristofferson in there, why add another Jennings, you have Thomas Gabriel and Whey Jennings, a cash, a Jennings, get Lukas Nelson and maybe a Kristofferson.
Thank you for this. I grew up on outlaw country and fall in love with their voices everytime I listen to their music♥️
That’s so cool, you look gorgeous we’re you from?
@@kenrolland5750ciao Ken!🙋😍😘💘🍀
Wow, that is amazingly great gave me chills! So glad I was able to see there Grandpas sing but this really proves this song is true, we live on through our offspring. Its a cirle of our lives!!
Wow ,I close my eyes and go back in time!!
Well done to both singers. Great song and well sung. Grandparents would be very proud. I love the setting as well and the way you have pride in your nation.🇺🇲🇮🇪
What a wonderful legacy these great men left with their grandsons singing their songs with the fabulous voices that sound just like they did. Truly a blessing
They didn't lie ! They are back again. Living in the voices of their offspring. 🥰 I grew up listening to both Waylon and Johnny. Their music was always playing. Now my grandchildren are listening to Struggle and these guys. 🥰
What a great tribute to family past and gone. You can absolutely hear their roots in their voices.
