Britt , I really enjoyed your reaction and interpretation of this song. I already mentioned that Don was my deceased wife's favorite singer (mine too). I'm finally able to watch it again all the way through. But listening to your reaction really putting meaning into the lyrics turns on the waterworks again. You bring it to life. Nice job.
This was mine and my husband's last song at our wedding in 1995! My husband passed away 12 years ago but this song reminds me of him still after all this time.....
Don Williams reminds me of my husband we both loved Don Williams . We were married for almost 30 years he passed away years ago. I still think of him when Don Williams sings and Kenny Roger's two singers he and I loved ❤
💙💙🦋💙💙 .. I knew you would fall for this beautiful song Britt. You are making your way through the legends of Country Music. This was a huge hit and message from the big man with the smoothest .. like the most absolute smooth Tennessee Whiskey ever made. The gentle giant.. Mr. Don Williams. Try out "I Believe In You" and "Lord I Hope This Day Is Good".... enjoy 🔥🔥🔥
The smoothest and richest country voice ever. He was also one of the nicest people I have ever met. Be sure to check out I Believe In You and Tulsa Time.
Awesome reaction to Don Williams. Some other great songs by him are "I Believe in You", "Lord I Hope This Day Is Good", and "Amanda". They will all melt your heart.
This was my Dad’s favorite song for my Mom. After 59 years of marriage, she left us suddenly with a massive heart attack. I miss her terribly but he’s truly lost without his best friend. Love Don Williams and love your reactions.
Being married 38 years, we have many “our song”….this is one. Don was a master songwriter, singer….he was an inspiration to so many current country artist.
Britt, Don Williams was my first wife's favorite singer and this piece says it all. I was crying by the time I got to the end of this song. As you said, this is a beautiful love song and it describes how I felt and treated my wife. We were best friends. Most nights we would spend at least an hour in bed just talking about the day and our kids. Hearing this again reduced me to a puddle of tears. That's all I can write, I'm about to crack again.
As a wreckless and love struck youngster I copied the lyrics to this song and gave them to my Girlfriend. She never found out what I had done until after we were together for 4 years and my dad, knowing the story, thought it would be funny to play the song. I dead panned looked at her as I saw it starting to register and said "What are the odds of that?". 😂
I watched this again and I'm in tears again. I lost my wife in 1980 and hearing this is truly kicking me right in the heart. Wow, I'm turning into a sentimental old fool. I too admire Don Williams very low bass, as-well-as his choice of songs. That's it, I can't watch this again for a while.
I haven't heard this song in literally decades, but began to remember some of the lyrics as it played! He was one of my Dad's favorite country artists. Thank you for your reaction and bringing back some fond memories of me and my Dad listening to songs on our record player, while drinking sweet teaon gentle Southern summer evenings!
I have always believed the older country is the best . The songs always had a story and most of the time it's something that happened to them . There is some good new country singers but nothing like it use to be .
The Gentle Giant. I never heard or saw anything bad this guy...He was a great singer & had tons of hits.
Agree! Every single song is amazing and rakes me away. ❤️ I think Dan Seals is the same - every song is amazing!

Have another listen to Don's mellifluous voice in his song "I Believe in You." More tearful sentiments. They're medicine for a bothered soul.
Even back in the day when I hated most country music, I'd listen to Don Williams and be glad for the opportunity. The guy knew his way around a song.
