Another problem is the cheap plastic used for the bowl and the threaded steel rod through the middle for the thumbscrew to hold the lid on. The plastic is eventually pierced through at many places and throws out the grit. There is no doubt that a durable genuine rubber bowl is needed. The steel rod is inappropriate for this machine since the vibration causes the the thumbscrew to abrade away the thread and it can no longer hold the lid on. The lid should be held on by nice and expensive and durable rubber straps.

Sad ending tho. Why not clean the inners of the motor and try again?

Everything inside the motor was corroded. I could replace the motor but then I still have a crappy lid design. I got a whole setup from Frankford Arsenal that I like much better.

Can you do a trouble shooting video on the drill master rotary tool?? It just stopped working out of nowhere. Sure, I could take it back and get a refund, but where is the fun in that? I want to get in there and play surgeon lol thanks bro

Yo I know harbor freight over heats so I put a fan right next to it hopefully the motor won't burn out for awhile. And I just use my nose to see if it's bad or good my ass be at the swap meet whiffing every thing that has motor or capacitor or etc

I think it was the lack of protection that kills them- nothing to keep spilt blasting media from penetrating the armature and bearings

Shit if you got it a couple years ago you definitely got what you paid for in a $60 tumbler

Well, I can tell you from first hand experience! The biggest problem is the closure. After an hour or two the wing nut loosens up and the vibratory friction heats up the washer until it melts through the cheap plastic lid and the lid flies off. An alternate closure method (elastic tubing around the bowl, a bigger washer, etc) does the trick and it works great! Cleaned thousands of brass shells with it before it died
