Communism while horrific in the shot term was clearly less deadly to Russia than whatever you want to call what’s happened to America.

You think you're taking codeine but it is actually fentanyl. Only a junkie opens a box with a broken piece of glass and I know from experience codeine just isn't that potent. I learned the Cyrillic alphabet (and some basic Russian) just to visit for a week. C'mon America, you're making us look bad. Yeah, like NASA was gonna use SAE units, lol. They are nothing but a headache and a good way to make sure you measure something wrong and then the rocket blows up. People complain about plastic but that Craftsman drill is die cast and modern plastic composites are stronger. 21:21 All the planetary gears ended up in crappy automatic transmissions, lol. Another point of note is that the Craftsman drill you show is a heavy duty, professional grade one and isn't even in the same class of tool as your Soviet one. The Soviets only beat us into space because they valued human life less. And that is still apparent today on Ukrainian battlefields. I mean it makes sense - Putin is just trying to put the Soviet Union back together so he can be included in the history books right alongside Lenin and Stalin. Dubious honor if you ask me.

Been bitten by 230/240 before. Granted, It was just my hand and fingers. Did not die. Didnt even hurt that much, it just scares the crap out of you when your hand feels like its opening and clamping at the same time while youre having no part in it doing so.

"vaguely round piece of steel"? In Russia they call this "precision ground", it's the reason their airplanes crash faster than western planes, also their trucks, tanks, and missiles.

You earned a new subscriber. I'm a Russian immigrant to America, and I appreciate how you recognized America used propaganda and it's not like the USSR was as bad as America wanted to show it. So commonly people will grab the simplest of things and say to me "Oh yeah, bet you didn't have these back in Russia" or make jokes and insults that are just entirely false, so I like that you didn't just come at it with a "American is automatically better because it's American" attitude. I appreciate you being fair and honest with both tools and also I love your humor. :)))))

It is interesting how the plug provided was not what was used on double insulated devices in Europe. That is for single insulated and for safety reasons it does not fit grounded sockets. If the device really is double insulated then of course that is not an issue. Maybe grounded sockets were so rare in the Soviet Union that it was not an issue

For anyone wondering about Judith (the woman from what I presume is a printing test that was used as packing material): the text is German, and I presume she is German herself as well as the text mentions ARD, a German TV broadcaster. The text describes the book she wrote, containing 30 knitting projects (hats and scarves, among others) and an emphasis on how soft and cuddly they are. Very much not the point of the video, but just in case someone's interested.

the grease iside of the gearbox is named "солидол" (solidol) which was a thickened solidified oils, mostly made of synthetic oils and soaps, there were many types of it in USSR for different applications. Some of them where made of animal fat and used even as a medicine for skin deseases.
