    Congratulations, my dude! A first complete year on a bike is a big threshold to cross. Most people who make it through their first full year will be life long riders, (at least statistical.) It also means you have a seriously better chance of not dying from your own inexperience now. The next big mark is 20,000 miles, because then you're no longer a noob. Every time out is an experience and you'll always be learning new things. 38 years, 11 bikes and more than a million miles into this, I'm still learning. See you in the next vid!

    KLX250 is a brilliant bike. Power where you need it, tractable throttle, and super easy to work on. A very solid buy. Only upgrade I will do is a 46-48t sprocket. Not wanting to mess with the engine at all

      That means a lot! Congrats on the new ripper! It's going to be a blast riding it around and then you get the itch to mod it.... stay safe but have fun! I try to strike a good balance in the video style. Sometimes, only having shots on the bike makes the video a bit monotonous. I agree with you, though; not being able to hear the bike and the action is just not as fun when you only hear the person talking.

I had the 2012 Carboretor model and it was a great bike but thanks for reaffirming why I'm upgrading to the 2018 Fuel injection with no regrets. I love my 2018 klx250. For the price alone I think it’s worth every penny. I did the FMF slip on with stock header tube. I got the EJK tuner. I still need to open up the air box. Maybe delete the smog. I added a small windshield, crash bars and a center stand along with Pannier racks and bags. Race tech front and rear spring because I’m a big boy plus the weight of the bags. It’s the perfect weekend lite adventure bike. I also have the 3 gallon tank that I still need to install. Great video.

    It really is a great bike. I bought mine used so I'm having that little bit of trouble at higher speeds which i will get resolved im sure, and really only one other peoblem with the coolant leaking. The good things: I have rung it's neck and dropped it and flung it quite a bit in the short time I've had it and laid it down in water In my Louisiana swamps and each time I just pick it up and start it up with no problem or damage but the many scratches on the body

    I will say at least in my case with the coolant leak it only leaks if you drop it almost upside down so it wasn't actually a problem because as soon as you pick it back up it's fine other than the little bit of residue left on the housing.

I upgraded to a 2019 wr450 uncorked an I will never want another 250 in my life. Some might say those 2 bikes are no comparison but yes they are both from dual sport/endoro backgrounds.

    • @jhmotorclub6916
      @jhmotorclub6916  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with that. Compared to the WR450, even with a big bore, the KLX would feel a little lifeless. Unfortunately, I can't plate a WR450 in Oregon :-(. That was my original goal when looking for a motorcycle, but just couldn't make it happen where I live. It would be cool though because I think the WR would be better than the CRF450L.

    I live in Colorado so would the KLX with the FI be better for me vs the Honda CRF250L which I think is carbureted? My usage would be secondary roads in the mountains, fire roads, gravel roads in the national Forest, etc. Also, riding slow around campgrounds as we do a lot of RVing.

    • @jhmotorclub6916
      @jhmotorclub6916  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both bikes have EFI. When you put a programmer on both of them, you lose a little bit of the EFI advantage, where the ECU can compensate for altitude. Instead, with the controller, you adjust the fueling yourself if needed. However, when stock, the bikes will compensate themselves. Personally, I feel the KLX performs better off road. It has a bit more travel than the CRF, and it definitely feels more nimble.
