Actually in terms of gameplay I'd say that Ninja Gaiden 3 was the best. Well, at least original japaneese version, which is way easier than US release. It finally fixes some annoying glitches like infinitely respawning enemies.
@@michal13121996ify "Ninja Gaiden 3" definitely has the best controls - that game is a pleasure in terms of raw gameplay, since it is very easy to move around and climb walls etc.
@@michal13121996ifyI found the level design in 3 (JP version) too simplistic compared to 2. In 2, it felt like you had to think about placement, enemy pattern, sub weapons, and speed, while 3 feels like a more generic platformer. Not to say that there are aren’t sections where you have to consider the enemies, but most of the time the game compensates for a lack of difficulty by spamming the same bland enemies all at once. It paradoxically feels both too easy and too hard, while NG2 feels like a satisfactory challenge while not being as unfair as the first game. That said, I do think the bosses in 3 are a major improvement, as well as a lot of QoL updates.
I'm not sure if you could even do this or not but I wonder if the music quality suffered if the team who did the port just decided to take the 8 bit soundtrack and feed it through the SNES sound processor then said yeah that's fine. The music wasn't written with a 16 bit console in mind and it shows.
There's now a "High Def" patch for the NES Ninja Gaiden 2 (and 1). It combines the 16-bit graphics of the SNES port while maintaining the NES music, sfx and all the visual effects that were lost in the SNES version (such as the lack of lightning in stage 3-1 or glowing ice in 5-2): www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php?topic=26164.0 You need a specific emulator to play it (Mesen), but its a pretty nice combination of the best of worlds. I don't have a problem with the music I think it's great for an arrangement. Although, I HATE that skeleton bone xylophone shit for stage 4-2. They could've done better. As for the ending theme for NG2 when Ryu regrets Irene dying, they should've used a violin.
I hate it too, but that's not EVEN a xylophone sound, even a shit-xylophone... it's an organ, played in really short bursts. so lame! the orig is king!
Ryu Hayabusa's Ninja Quest Continues In Ninja Gaiden 2 The Dark Sword Of Chaos, The 2nd Installment In The Ninja Gaiden Trilogy For Your Super Nintendo Entertainment System From Tecmo!
I think I owned this game, for some reason I didn't like it compared to the NES versions. Played all 3 of the NES ones and owned #3. The SNES controls felt off I think, maybe be it was the button layout that didn't translate well. It used A and B but it was naturally better to use Y and B on the SNES controller so your tip of the thumb triggers Y, attack, while the middle joint triggers B, jump. With the B A layout, use have to move your thumb back and forth.
28:39 this has to be the worse boss fight in the ninja gaiden franchise. Im probably not the only one who was expecting ashtar to be atleast not that easy to beat like a lvl-1 boss
Ryu hayabusha's sword is steel made covered with various graphene layers,it conduct electricity right from his heart to the graphene,n is the perfect devil slayer weapon.the obedient sword under the mind power.
This game was the easiest of the original trilogy but lots of fun never the less. I don't mind the remixed music really. I'd say kinda like Ninja Gaiden Black and Ninja Gaiden Sigma, it's just nice to own both versions although the snes trilogy doesn't really change anything level or gameplay wise.
I tried playing this and I just can't stand some of the sound effects. Just grabbing an item makes me cringe every time it makes that echoed, screetchy sound. I think playing it on original NES is a better bet.
It's pretty lazy port. It uses the original sprites, with some small touches in terms of color nuances. The music is inferior compared to classic NES versions.
One of the worst games ever ! While story may be somewhat ok the actual gameplay is lame and clunky. Sword even though it doesn't feel like one is more like a pixel which should coincide with enemy's pixel then it register kill. Otherwise just pay enough attention and you'll see that more often than not your so called sword crosses enemy's sprites still it doesn't register. Hit boxes are completely random and off. Also a very bad mechanic is when you get hit your weapon just gets disabled like wtf. I can go on forever about really horrid level disign and so on like when you get involontary stuck on the walls and such. To my mind it's a pity that back in the day there were no decent quality control otherwise this abomination would've never passed in it's actual state. Also I associate Ninja with speed and ultimate control. This pile of steamin' substance is nowhere near those things.
Shame on you hahaha! , Have you ever tried to play Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde? that is a nefarious game in terms of mechanics, history, sound and graphics, to have such a negative opinion about Ninja Gaiden 2 you must be very noobster to play video games 😂😂😂
An amazing game gets a respectable port that, despite how well it plays, is still completely outclassed by its original NES counterpart.
How do you like that compilation? I know that it goes for a TON of money on eBay.
+David Halligan I think it's overall pretty good, but not at these prices. It was totally worth $60 though back in 95
+David Halligan The only real complaint I have is the music. The games are still good
+NintendoComplete Yeah, I emulated the first game in collection years ago, just to try it out. I definitely prefer the NES music.
It could have been so much better, hell, a native Ninja Gaiden SNES title would have been amazing.
"what the...?" the catchphrase of the whole ninja gaiden saga x)
Man I miss this game so much loved it when I was a kid
It's not as good as the NES soundtrack but it's not that bad either, and seeing it was 3 games for the price of 1 I can accept it.
10:15 Wow...the stage 3 music was my favorite on the NES version...here it just gets the "crappiest remake" award...
What happened to stage 3! How come it doesn't go dark?
The game was poorly ported. You can see the 2nd clone not fully being show unlike the NES version.
This game was by far the best of the trilogy.

Overall I agree, my only gripe was they got rid of the spin to win from the first game (Jump and Slash)….
It was definitely the easiest thanks to those shadow clones.

There was too much changed music wise for that to be the case.
It would've been much better if that's what they did, but it obviously isn't. Even the opening cutscene has notes that are just incorrect.

Totally ruined that song indeed.
The soundtrack in this one seems to be inspired by the arranged OST CD released alongside the Famicom version of NGII in Japan.b
Is it just me or when I was a kid and playing this remaster of Ninja Gaiden 2 was it more realistic than it already is?
Ok so not only was the music slaughtered, but they also censored the blood and pentagram on Jaquio. This trilogy turned out to be a disappointment.
And all the glitching, don't know if it the emulation or the game itself.
Que paso en el Stage 3?
que estaba demasiado Difícil en la versión nes, que decidieron quitarle ese efecto de DARK y ponerle password a los niveles??

The fact that Snes deleted the original boss theme... SUCKS!!
Stupid censors gave jaquio green blood.
The soundtrack to this lacked base 😎

Love your channel man! Your skills are unequaled! Any chance of ever seeing the Wizards and Warriors series?

Never heard of this game, it's so surprising that snes has its own ninja gaiden game.
It doesn't, these are just ports of the NES originals.
Makes me wonder how Ryu still has the Dragon Sword in later games after this ending.

Music sounds horrible compared to nes.
no se ustedes pero la mejor version es de 8bits por siempre . PD . que feo es la musica del final en serio !!!

wtf did they do to the music?
+greathelmm I think they remixed it using orphans' tears as the instruments
Vomited on it
Took a shit.
@@NintendoComplete maybe
The 2nd game was the better of the 3, both in game play and story.
The music is terrible on SNES
Why is jaquio body an spider
What happened to the dynamatic colours up in the health bars and scores!?😢 They ruined it!!!😭
