Another thing: if the CIA could airdrop him, why not drop him onto the temple and save him the hassle of climbing it? Heck, why not helicopter in a squad of marines to increase his chances?
LOL c'mon bro, your over thinking it! Because then we wouldn't get all those awesome levels with Ryu having to jump from platform to platform chopping candles, attacking birds and having to fight those creepy little guys crouched up in a ball that come at you, thats why! ha ha
+Arbiter787 Cause those bazooka dudes woulda blew the choppers OUT of the sky! And the troops that DID land? Well they would've have been overrun with sword-throwing ninjas and untamed wildlife! And I would just LOVE to see "special ops" get past those death-traps and ravines they have so strategically placed all over the damn place! Let's face it. It's the CIA. They already KNEW what was in that place. They probably figured "Who better to get those statues out of a place like that than a fuckin' trained ninja?!"
I can do that! If I'm out of shape, I definitely might die. The problem is that the first screen of Act 6-2 can be a little unexpected. One of those shurikens just might hit you.. and the pit has never been this hungry for blood! There's always a slight probability that things might go wrong (even if you have Spin Slash with a decent amount of it!) You can make sure that you hold the attack button a little longer, but if you're closer to the edge when you land, it can hit.
+chuckobscure They are not. Longplay simply don't accept Let's Play videos so all the folks running these games KNOW what to do. Deaths are allowed, but they just choose to master the run before submitting it.
This is written on their page: A longplay is a play-through of a computer or video game, created with the intent of completing it as fully as possible, mainly for the purposes of nostalgia, preservation, and possibly as a walkthrough. I agree, i debated my on live xbox party years back that very point. That i believe Ninja Gaiden 1 nes has the best BGM of all-time, closely debatable with Resident Evil1 ps1.
Agreed. The cutscene music right before Stage 4-2, the music DURING Stage 4-2 and the End Credits are my favorite tracks. Even tho Tecmo had great music, Konami held that torch for a long ass time.
25:30 that is the drop of madness that ate much of my childhood. IIRC you can hold down when swinging in air when you have that spin sword technique in order to slash without blowing some of your ammo.
Came here just in case Ryu Hayabusa ever gets revealed as a dlc fighter for Smash Ultimate. I’m guessing he might either be Challenger Pack 5 or one of the future dlc characters.
@Plasma Cypher yea me too. Since Hayabusa would be another character that was around since the NES era. Plus, he’d also be the first 3rd party ninja character in Smash.
Kudos, friend. This is something I've yet been able to do. I've not even completed the first one yet (though I was close back in 1990). You have my virtual high-five.
+gnussyflarkin Thanks! The funny thing is, I literally beat the whole trilogy in less than a month since I first started playing it. It was last July. It caused me so much pain, but I did it. And so can you! Never give in :3
Yeah, I'm in the process of purchasing some old NES cartridges to rebuild my collection and this trilogy is on my list. I want to play them on the original hardware, just as I did back in the day. I must join your ranks!
CamTube bro if you complete the whole game in one life then celebrate but you can't believe that I completed the whole game in speed run in one life because I used cheats 😃😃😃
This game is such a blast. It doesn't look like much by today's standards and it is hard as hell, but there is such a flow to it that you can play it over and over til you're so good at it that you'll just breeze through it.
Enjoyed this game in its day. Stage 1-4 Memorable Fun Stage 5-3 till the fight with Ryu's father and Jaqio himself! Now, thats sure to be remember for some tough gaming experienced for me 🤣. Great playthrough from ULTIMA here 👏👏👏.

That first entire video game I finally completed almost every time. That game I played was super hard, but okay. One of the hardest games I’ve ever played a lot .
Na tool assisted (TAS) means that they re-recorded scenes etc...So you don't see the deaths and all...you can slow down the speed etc...This is mostly played with save states and re-recording I suppose
I think most people know this anyway but JUST IN CASE you didn't, this was actually the very first game to use cutscenes to tell a story. This is history right here; not just a (relentlessly difficult) videogame.
@ddhlee Why yes, of course! Now it all makes sense! Ryu and Snake were supposed to work together on the mission! But a sudden wind blew him away! Now we just need to discover the 3rd guy :3
In my opinion, there were no games for the NES that rivaled the Ninja Gaiden series. They had the best graphics, gameplay, challenge, story, and soundtrack. These were _not_ easy games to play: They required absolute precision in timing- with your jumping, sword-slashing, and even when you took hits, if you wanted to get all the way through the game. I actually beat Ninja Gaiden 2 before I was able to beat this one. These walkthroughs might make them look easy, but if you were one of the people that beat this, you already know that it took an incredible amount of patience and determination to get to the end (remember, there were no "save" points in Ninja Gaiden- you had to beat it in one sitting).
Wow the guy who played this is officially the best video game player in the world. After like 20 years of practice i could only get to the second end boss. Then i just decide to ragequit once i get sent back to 6-1.
@theluiginater I don't know 100% but it's along the lines of you press a button, and the system does everything itself. This wasn't tool assisted though.
Interesting. The European (Shadow Warriors) version seems to be based on an earlier build, since the DPCM drums are not the same and the text at 36:14 is not censured ("damn!" Instead of "argh!" in this US version).
I've started playing Ninja Gaiden 3 first. Followed by part 2 then part 1. Ninja Gaiden 1 is the hardest of them all. Overall, Ninja Gaiden 2 is the best because of balanced game play, graphics and difficulty.
This Game has some of the best music I ever heard in a game!
100%. 4-2 has the best music in nes history imo
check out a youtube channel called Vomitron, he does Ninja Gaiden music to the max!
Probably one of the best NES endings.
For it's era, it was certainly one of the most cinematic games around; even had cutscenes and all, despite space constraints.
One of the best NES games
Thee Best For Me
True, and still can't beat the game.
I love how the temple was only discovered recently. It's a mile high stone pillar rising out of the jungle, how do you NOT see it?!

oh no don't say epic it's trademark say "gaming platform with proprietary engine and store"
funny how NES games from 1988 have better stories than games that come out today. Great playthough, I've never seen the end boss.
i finished this game without cheats or hacks, the last level is the only hard level, it's hard, but i finished, it takes a lot of practice buddy
+Ramiro1992 (Mr_X) Wow, that's great
Alvinda Akbar there are harder games
Ramiro1992 (Mr_X) Yeah. Like Metroid, The Castlevania games (2&3 in particular), Zelda II, etc.
I agree, No Body had better Storyline cut scenes then Tecmo in those days. OR on NES period..
I love all NES Ninja Gaiden series. They are all awesome !
oi agree, but Foster was Annoying
I watched this like I am watching a movie lol, cool story seriously!

The only thing that stops you from being the true Ninja Gaiden master is pressing down when you jump. That doesn't use a spin attack. :)
... and yeah I know this was 4 years ago.... but still.... :)
