Thanks for checking it out man. I wasn't expecting the dish based, really glad I got them though, it looks like the Synthetic can be tuned to them, actually both, the wood just liked the pellet based the most.
Thanks man. I wasn't planning on shooting a lot, but I've been wanting to try some of these slugs for at least a year and never got around to it, pellets are all I need for the yard I'm in now. When I won these I of course had to shoot, fixed the Bear River, got some new pellets for that and been testing it as well, I'm already editing a video. It's supposed to rain for the rest of the week, I was in a rush to get everything finished while the sun was out yesterday and I need to be out in it. I worked outside all day, it felt good, then I shot my guns for a while, that felt a lot better, lol.
Hey man, I like the name change idea. It makes sense. Pretty awesome that you will have 100 plus yards to shoot at the new house! Can't wait to see the new setup when you get over there. I have been thinkin about getting some slugs. Not sure what I want to get though. Kinda lettin you and Zee do the testing to figure out the best brand and weight for me! LOL I saw that hole in hole shot! Pretty dang sweet man!
I'm gonna try some more, the .250 in these and see how those work, I am curious to see if I can get them tuned in, I am almost positive both will in the wood and the dish based will in the synthetic. The synthetic has a different baffle in it so that may well make a difference, it likely does. I want to show the expansion and all that stuff as well, but I had 'em for a couple of days before I got to shoot 'em, I just wanted to see the initial results and I'm liking the dish based in this size the most.
@@slowpokeairgunner4027 I will be keepin an eye out for those video's. I bet the expansion will be great with the energy those slugs carry. Didn't you do a video on that baffle a while back? Was it that gun?
Hey brother glad to see some new videos from you man.my flashpup is still in the shop,I guess I was hot filling the gun and did some damage 😪..but she is in good hands. I did get a modified bulldog for hog hunting!!it is a badass rifle and I should have some vids real soon.i got 400 of the 34.7 NSA slugs from a guy on AGN.i will give those a try when my flashpup s. Gets back home.if you want,I could send you some?I know neilson doesn't make those anymore. Let me know brother...oh yeah,is that a moderator on the synthetic?
Great to hear from ya bro, too bad on the FP but it will be back soon I am sure. I would love to see some vids on the bulldog, I've wanted that gun since it came out and never did get it, I may get one now since I know I have bigger game right on the property. I think I tried the 34.7 gr, maybe not, I do know they have changed weights on their .25 cal lead because they don't have the stuff I tried a year ago. I'll get back with ya on the slugs, I'm using the MK2 33 gr in the wood now with good accuracy, I know I can turn them up and get power and accuracy, with the NSA's I have to turn the gun way down to get the accuracy, but I'll lose power. I am messing with the slugs for power on coyote and such if I can get them to work. At a close range, the 44 gr NSA's hammered out 80 fpe and good enough for a body shot on accuracy out to 40 yards. I'm trying to get 60 fpe out of the Griffin's with accuracy, not sure if I can do it, but the one I have the most of is the one the wood is shooting best at a decent speed, I just need to test more and tweak some and I think I can tune it in. As for a moderator, no I don't have one on it, I have the baffle I put in that I got from eBay from a previous video a few weeks ago, it works well, and maybe affecting the accuracy with the slugs which I forgot to mention. I meant to pull it out and put in the original QE system and test it that way as well, but time got the best of me, I'd spent all day cutting some small trees, weed-eating, and mowing, it was the only day I'll have for a week without rain so I had to get it done. I am going to check that, I do know the baffle seems to make it a bit more accurate, and it is definitely quieter.
@@slowpokeairgunner4027 wow, from the angle you were filming it looked like a moderator. I'll try to do some testing with the bulldog this weekend. She will be mainly hunting hogs.
***UPDATE*** - First, the house close has been bumped to the middle of July. Also, as I suspected, the issue with the Synthetic was the baffle that was in it. I've been using one from eBay that worked well, not sure about now because it has three stages of the ten stage baffle that have been clearly hit, and cracked. This tells me something tumbled, it shouldn't have needed more space considering they are .249 in size. The baffles in the Wood are still fine, but they have bigger holes in them, the ten stage baffle I had in it had smaller holes to cut noise. It seems to shoot fine with pellets, I will do more tests when the rain finally stops. This being said, I will be testing these slugs through the stock baffle, especially with the fact that the first two shots were in the same hole, then it shifted. The wood did well with the pellet based, a bit of tuning required, I think the synthetic may well do the same seeing the first two shots. I don't know when the baffle was damaged, but I won't be using it with the slugs.
That's normally the case with the choked barrels, yes I have, as in the video, the NSA slugs. I am trying to see if a smaller slug will be able to move at faster speeds, these did better than the NSA's at the tune I have them at.
Both guns are super accurate with pellets, I shoot out to 100 yards with it no problem, but I like to keep it at 75 for hunting purposes. If I can get the guns tuned for these slugs they'll do great. I've started to ad a reg since I got the wood when they first hit the shelves, but it will shoot out to 100 no problem. The wood likes the Air Arms 25.4 gr the best for certain, the Synthetic is still breaking in I believe, but it will put pellet on pellet with the JSB 25.39 and H&N Barracuda, the wood will too but it shoots the AA a bit better. Thanks for the comment.
@@slowpokeairgunner4027 I just think in terms of verticle grouping a reg may help out. You might want to use the new FX Hybrid slugs instead once they come out. Also, there are these little punches that you can buy called pellet sizers, might be good to get on if you feel like it as they improve your groupings with pellets a ton.
@@SiliconeSword These are basically the same as the hybrid slug coming out, I just wanted to go down in size a bit to see if I got better results with the choked barrel, which I did get better results with the current tunings than I did with the NSA slugs in the wood, I have not tried them in the synthetic. I agree on the reg, the guns are super accurate with pellets, I haven't tried the synthetic out to 100 yet, the wood does pretty well with the Air Arms. I like the adjustability without the reg, but I've threatened to put on in the wood since I've owned it, but never have, I like it the way it is right now, but shooting longer distances on a regular basis may well call for a reg to be put in. I do like being able to crank the power up and down with the hammer spring tension adjustments fairly easy, which is why I've never regulated it. I don't take the time to sort all of my pellets, I have done it via weight, but I don't have a pellet sizer. These barrels may prefer the .250 size, but with that, the speed has to be turned down, at least with flat-based slugs, I'll try this in .250 as well and see if the base is what makes the difference in the way they shoot. They will definitely grip the rifling better, but these seem to be gripping pretty well. As I said, I need to tun to them and see what I get, my speed is not so far out that it would cause major drops in POI, especially only shooting at 30 yards. I have a lot more testing to do, a reg limits me on the amount of power I can get if I want it, thus the reason they're still unregulated. I may regulate the synthetic because I run it at lower power. Thanks for the comment.
Oh, and I dig James over at STKO, I am already subbed to both of his channels. Great stuff!
Right on!
Cool name change as well.. I like the dish base so far for my low power Airguns... Since its all i got 😆
Thanks for checking it out man. I wasn't expecting the dish based, really glad I got them though, it looks like the Synthetic can be tuned to them, actually both, the wood just liked the pellet based the most.

Have you tried tighter slugs. Like the .250 or .251 you might get better groups but a slower velocity. Sometimes tighter is better.
