Something must have went wrong during the process. Watch my xboxhdm video to rebuild the disk. You'll need to hotswap your hard drive to either an older computer with ide or use a USB to ide adapter. th-cam.com/video/y_n8kEQfgdE/w-d-xo.html

Clock loop only happens if Xboxdash.xbe is missing from the C partition. So if you have a stock console and this file is removed or the C partition is corrupt in some way (never heard of it but could happen) then you could get it on a stock console. Normally it happens on softmods when folk go removing stuff from the real C partition and older hacked bios that don’t have the clock loop bypass patch. The reason it happens is because when the clock isn’t set the Xbox kernel (bios) forces xboxdash.xbe to be loaded so the time can be set. My assumption for the behaviour was so saves that rely on time and date wouldn’t be damaged or corrupt, as other than that there is zero need for the clock. So if you get a clock loop, the Xbox will refuse to boot any discs as the kernel is forcing xboxdash.xbe to be loaded and if this file is missing Error16. Moral of the store is, don’t much about with the real C partition on softmods and with hard odds update your bios to a newer one. (Softmod when loaded will always set the clock on boot, so you don’t need to do anything)
Any reason why you didnt use the prebuilt version of the softmod? The first time I installed the mod a few months back, I built the bat file and I ended up with error screens while ftp'ing. The subreddit suggested to use the prebuilt instead, and that fixed it. Great videos, though.
Great videos mate, I’m hoping to be following them in the next couple of days once Splinter Cell and the Xbox Controller port to USB lead shows up I have a couple questions - Since I only have one game that’s uses the Softmod game exploit (splinter cell) should I only copy over the splinter cell (PAL) save games, since I don’t have any of the other games I shouldn’t need them right ? - This one is to do with the EEPROM, it’s all a bit complicated lol so my understanding is when the Xbox was produced the HDD and MB are linked using the EEPROM Key you were talking about, also you need to backup the EEPROM just in case the HDD dies because if it does you’ll have no way of getting your EEPROM data back which will only work with that MB, so basically your screwed....with the EEPROM Data you have backed up you can then buy a new drive which can then have all the EEPROM date placed onto it which then tricks the Xbox into thinking it’s the same drive ? Wow that’s enough for one day lol Hopefully you can clear this up for me Thank you !!!
Yes, you will only need to copy the game save of the game that you have plus the softmodding save. As far as the eeprom, watch part 4 if you haven't yet. Essentially, three different numbers get put together in a way to form the Hard Drive Password. The eeprom hdd key, the model of the hard drive, and the serial number of the hard drive. In Part 4 I discuss Nulling the eeprom, by doing this, you will never have to worry about your hard drive dying because the eeprom's HDD Key will be 32 zero's in a row. Your hard drive will still have a password, but it can easily be generated using xboxhdm or liveinfo. But if you don't want to null the eeprom, you should back it up and label the folder you backup by the serial number on the bottom. Then you'll always have it in case of a hdd failure. If the hard drive does die with no eeprom backup and no hardmod, there is a way to still read the eeprom data but its pretty difficult. I will be posting a video about this at some point down the line but you will need to build an eeprom reader and use an old computer with a serial port cable, the alternative is to solder a modchip on the board so you can bypass the hard drive lock requirement which is much easier. Best of luck with your softmod. Let me know if you have any issues. Thanks!
any idea why the save games would not be showing up on the flash drive when plugged into the xbox?
Sadly just boots up to error 21 for me when trying to softmod it

Can i boot Extras disc from HDD or its only work in disc?
Yes you can boot it from the hdd. I believe its called extras disc attacher or something like that.
Does this soft mod have the clock loop issue?

@@techhoarder3010 Ok I see I just removed my clock capacitor yesterday on a unmodded xbox and I was thinking about modding it.

No reason, you can use either. I can't remember if the prebuilt version has all the extra stuff like quick upgrade and xboxhdm files.
