Super late comment on this video, but I just recently found it. I am currently trying to do this mod and every time I go to delete partition 4 in xplorer 360 it says that an error occured while writing cluster 6 and then it freezes and when I try to pull it back up, it freezes and wont open my drive again. Just wondering if you have any idea whats wrong here.

any idea how long itll take for a 2tb drive

I get to the part where it says "partition 0 start... partition 6 start" (5:56) and then it just hangs forever. Never says [OK] and continues. I've left it for hours twice now. How long should the process take? Maybe my IDE to usb2 adapter is too old? I can't seem to troubleshoot it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi do I need lpc rebuild first for xbox 1.6 for extract eprom i have tried external power supply method but it didn't work i am getting lots of numbers when I run i2cdetect not like yours.

I use pony prog for instant eprom extraction i can extract several OG xbox eproms at a time, very easy.

I know it's not that much different but have you considered doing a video on a TSOP flash with conductive paint? Also any recommendations for doing a TSOP without a DVD drive(can't use Hexen)? I've been thinking of trying Rocky5's extras disc which the latest has a TSOP flashing utility that even cleans up the softmods afterwards but I'm not sure if that'd set the dashboard back to default or not and since the softmod is so automatic I'm not sure where to start with installing a dashboard lol.

thanks for this video. Have 3 Xbox's and none of them have a drive that can read discs and the only solution I was getting out of people until I found this was to "just keep getting Xboxs till you get a working DVD drive". maybe this is because I'm still on win 7 but I was able to get this to work no problem on the first try!

Console5 sells complete cap kits for every version of the OG XBox and their power supplies, I've fixed 4 and counting now using those kits. Flux and a good desoldering iron make this process a lot easier. I also fixed a couple XBox 360 Xenon boards that also suffered from capacitor plague.

I've followed your install to the T and the Xbox will not let me configure the configurable boxes on the dash or show up and will not show "Featured". Rocky5's Artwork Pack is no longer available. Could you upload it?

Man, I tried today to unplug the DVD and I only get error 11 :/ I will try with the other method in the b part (from the stock dock of the Xbox) but what do you think it might be? I am using a NTSC-J 1.00 :/ I DID IT THANK YOU! FOR WHO HAS PROBLEMS> *do not leave the USB connected to the pc in between attempts!!!* Do exactly like the video shows *usb out, plugs usb, quickly do the hotswap* otherwise will make Xplorer360 never register the new media. I did like 50 times wrong, then after noticing that detail I tried again and got it after the first time!

Thank you for this excellent video. I could not get Chimp working in my Crystal Xbox so I used the tool to replace my 8GB HD with a spare 320 GB HD using the USB tool. Apart from an issue where it took a long time trying to create the partition which I resolved by cancelling and trying again it was painless. My Xbox is happily upgraded and working as the old HD seemed like it was on the way out. Thanks once again for the great video.

i did the hotswap method years ago using an old pc a ribbon cable and a special copy of linux. I just found the linux copy for the first time in years!

Actually you can do this with a soft mod, but only with a specific stock HDD

I was doing this softmod today and everything was going smoothly until I wanted to copy the files. Nothing appeared on the disk nothing could be deleted from the disk. It helped when I switched from offline to online in disk management and it went smoothly again.
