Personally, the HA finish is a seller, but the amount of faffing around with raising and lowering the heat ring especially when cooking rules it out. The lid is nice to have but, as you demonstrated the pan acts as a lid for both pots and can be used to keep food warm in the process. It's a Trangia alternative at the end of the day. Id like to see Trangia take on board some of the design pieces in these stoves, particularly the little handle on the burner lid and a cutaway on the windshield to allow easy access to the lid to control temperature. I also don't know why either the Trangia or this has a hole to thread a gas pipe through part way up the body. A neat 'mouse hole' cut on the base to allow a gas pipe to come through is all that's required. I recently came across the Endurance Lava 400 cook set which is also a Trangia design alternative, which is well worth a look.
Great alternative to the trangia IMHO, possibly the best one out there, especially since the Robens is discontinued, as well as the knockoff Ferrino Popote Maxi. The Alocs CW-C05 is just a worse verision of this, and the Tatonka multi set loses to the Duossal since the Trangia burner is better, although it won't last forever as I expect the tatonka will. The Endurance lava 400 is pretty much the best version of the trangia, with a pot grabber that can be used as tongs, the better simmer adjuster like the Robens has, and the improved carry case.
Thank you VERY MUCH for your vid! I instantly ordered one of them, because it'll fit all my needs. Thank you again for your high quality test. And, btw, I like the way you throw away the foils. 👍 😁
Hi kapegede. Glad you liked the video. Apart from the height adjustment it’s a great piece of kit for the price. I’m sure you will really like yours when it arrives. Happy cooking

Good review, I think for myself, it would just need another hole in the base and then would work with my Optimus Nova
Hi P I Staker. Yes, a long handle flame adjuster. This would indeed cause a problem.
Made in China.
Yep, made in China. It’s a good bit of kit but not as refined as the Trangia.
