Great to have Joshua on board,i worked with him some years back.Last time i hiked mt Longonot was way back in 2012.I shall revisit soon.Hats- off Sir for your incredible efforts.
Thank you so much for posting about Mt. Longonot! I remember our primary school trip to see the crater and the smell of sulphur back in the 80's. Thank you for this virtual reminder sana! We watch you from Florida.
Mount Longonot is a stratovolcano located southeast of Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley of Kenya, Africa. It is thought to have last erupted in the 1860s.
Nice adventure i enjoy watching your TH-cam channel especially with spectacular views which are quite unique we at diaspora don't take it for granted. But you're hiking at Mt Longonot was disappointing as i was expecting your drone video to show us the Ariel view of the crater itself from above.that would have been something.
Was waiting for this loves this Mountain my four years at secondary school we always camped Longonot every April vacations as scouts watching this brings back some precious Memories.THANK BRO.
I have driven by Mt. Longonot countless times and I have been content to view it from afar. Not any more. Your video makes me wonder why it never occured to me to get close. It always seemed inaccessible. Thanks for 'giving me the wisdom' to add it my bucket list.
did this hike and around the crater about 26 years ago. I remember it vividly there was really fine soil ash-like that one would find it very difficult to walksince there was almost no traction. There were no stairs then but mostly not a whole lot has changed.
Thanks for free trip. Can't believe I climbed from my couch in Dallas, TX 😄 Breathtaking views for sure. Beautiful voice over at the beginning of the video.
I climbed mt Longonot in 2013 all the way to Kilele Ngamia and went round the 7 km crater..it was an awesome experience. I can see you guys had fun as well.
Awesome!! I have driven past Mt Longonot several times but always too late in the day to climb it. I can see I need to make a special attempt next time I am there.
Thanks to the late John Hoy who took me up, panting and exhausted, to the top of Mt. Longonot in 1985/1986! John was a seasoned climber and runner and in far better shape. I was / am not. Afrikan Traveller, thanks for the memories. Note: A zero load, or a much lighter load (very light backpack) makes a BIG difference!
Well done guys. I hiked Longonot as a kid on a school trip. I remember there were heaps of buffaloes, we could see them raising dust. When we got to the top, we were so exhausted we all lied down on the volcanic soil.
I' visited great grandma sis and her family in limuru side as a kid, this crater, longonot and the big settelite are the view from their frontyard in the lush limuru side. They later took me to mai-mahiu to meet other family members there, we the boys decided to check it out. They were telling me of leopards that trick people to step on it tail on trail paths and buffalos that don't like the sight of humans. We didn't reach it we ended in a beautiful waterfall on longonot opposit hill, I think called mount Margaret hill, swam at it pool all day then went back, saw giraffes and zebra, we also decended deep sunken earth gullies with trees and eat some wild fruits in there known as mbiyo or something like that.
You folks were moving at a very fast pace, I don't think the guides at Mount Kenya or Kilimanjaro would allow for that pace. However, I enjoyed the video and the energy of the team!
I'm coming home meanwhile let me workout to get fit🤣🤣🤣 . My Kenya was on my list but I think I like this. Which one is easy? Some of us might pass out 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Here another idea. How bout you walk thru some areas & do short hikes. This would be hella nice to see Africa from a “walking” person view. And good workout👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

@@AfrikanTraveller They wouldn't let us do the 7km, we were too young. They didn't attack but we could see them in groups as we worked our way up.
I hiked Mt.Kenya as my first hike ever and I made it..I don't work out, I never did pre-hikes..therefore I think anyone can manage Longonot😇💯💯
I hiked Mt Longonot today. Wueeh

I can say this is the best thing I ever did. Going round the crater(7kms) is the real test of endurance
Wow!!! You did great going the full stretch.
