I tried Mt. Longonot years back to hype myself to hike Mt. Kenya. I never made it to the top and Mt. Kenya got kicked off my bucket list, I'll stick to Oloolua and Ngong hills 😀❤

Lvu two crazy fellow canadian.💕 Amazing video thank you for bringing us on your hiking adventure. Great that you did Mt.Longonot. Mountain climbing is one of the most therapeutic adventures. I did it in my school days and developed that "I can do" attitude! Something big is happening in that locality; The Safari Rally in Naivasha, remember to experience that too.
This reminds me on Dec 12th '19, I visited this place in the afternoon, it was cloudy and when I got to the summit, I was by myself, I went ahead and circumnavigated the crater, and rain caught me halfway, it was such an experience and an endurance test for myself, it took me 2hrs 30 minutes for the whole adventure
beautiful hike. The environment is really breath taking and the trails just perfect, flora and fauna, trails, soft sand and some hilly rocky places just great
we climbed mt longonot with my class trip braeburn high school it was an amazing experience, up around and down, it was raining on our way back so slid all the way down!! there were no steps back then early 90's
Thanks for the awesome video of Longonot. Brings back a lot of memories. For high school I went to RVA in Kijabe which is on the side of the Rift Valley looking towards Longonot. Got to climb it many times and even went down into the crater a couple of times. Looks the same as it did in the 80s. You should climb Mt Kenya, another, but much older volcano and much higher. That takes several days of hard climbing. Or Kilimanjaro, a slightly newer Volcano and also a bit higher. Thanks again for all your wonderful videos, and stay safe.
I didn't know you can go down the crater. How was it? When I climbed Longonot there were buffaloes raising dust on the sides and the breathtaking views are still with me to this day
@@marcrcbally it will be pretty against the park rules to go down the volcano area...don't dare, it's also punishable by law enforcement agencies. Dangerous.
@@DaveMani you guys have given so much ideas I’m thinking of running away from Vancouver this winter to just enjoy the spots you have high lighted . :)
I went round that mountain and it was so hectic, it was on a high school trip and as geography students, we wanted to experience the walk around the mountain and it turned out to be a very hard thing, I remember some ladies passed out and we had to carry them, that was a day that I'll never forget.
16:00 It may not erupt anytime soon but near the peak you can spot smoke coming out on the sides of the wall maybe you missed it because of the mist but we comforted ourselves it's probably geothermal from the surrounding area.
Normally I'll be weary of a overnice mzungu, but thanks for embracing and promoting kenya this much, you guys are amazing and I would like to think you are one of us now
15:51 Love how you pushed her to the side. "No time for chivalry, it's me or you babe. When I said till death do us part I was talking about moments like this."
First hiked Mt. Longonot while in grade 8. It was gruesome but I survived😂. Did 3 more hikes after and I am currently my 4th and final year of uni. Long time coming but I loved each and single hike.
Ooppps you forgot the review at the end😂😂. Anyway I'm sure you were sore, slept really well that night. The fun ain't over yet. I'm waiting for the video on the WRC. Just get more monster drink, the fun has just began. I'm really proud of Tracy, she really made it, and I know how you feel climbing a steep after another. Great video, and a great adventure.......now let's see you at the WRC
Any time Dave would say he's at the highest point, I'd laugh knowing very well there's still a ways to go because the highest point has a sign 😂😂😂 Also, I've gone left instead of right before (or is it the other way round?) and regretted it
I was just watching a series called the Dorm and it has been shot in Cinque Terre.. and i was like what a coincidence you have visited the place..am so happy 😎
Another amazing adventure filled video. You guys are one of our fav channels and always look forward to your videos. We are already subscribed to you on my husband's channel but when it is nice you do it twice.
You guys did well to go in the morning as the chilly June weather translates into those clouds thus adding to the mystery and constant review of where the peak is. Also, after tackling the rim I'm pretty sure it's sth you never want to repeat but you still had it easy, not like going when you can see just how much farther you need to go which is demoralising.
Hey. Great job hiking Tracy 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽. I have never done Longonot but I want to know. Y'all need better hicking gear which is available at decathlon located at the Hub or Two rivers especially the backpack water bottle and the hicking shoes. And just for Tracy's effort which I feel her completely (coz I am not that good with altitude hikes.... I will like the video😁😁😁.
