When you were talking about Ethiopia, you didn’t mention the worst starvation humans witnessed, the fact there is a civil war took them apart for many years and still going on. But when it comes to Somalia you immediately started talking about politics, war and the some of the regions of Somalia are about to secede. I wonder why? Why didn’t you only talk about Somalia’s geography as you did about Ethiopia?

Well researched and presented. Kudos on Somaliland explaining the situation as best as you can. Almost entirely historically accurate. Just mention Somalia was decolonised on 1st July 1960 via Italy, 5 days after Somaliland (26th June 1960 from the UK). Making it … “the junior country”. The “Act of Union” was never signed or ratified… making Somaliland’s sovereignty… never nullified. Hopefully Somaliland will be out of the shadow of a failed state fairly soon!

Animation is top tier, but why did you change to the usual commentary for Somalia? You will have a great edge over basically every geotuber if you dig into the social geography, it will confine you less to the lines on the literal map plus you will have a ton of extra coordinates of motion to go hard on the animation! Don't sleep on sociology in geography!

There are many tribes that reside in northern Somalia, and one of those tribes calls itself Somaliland, based on the idea that all of northern Somalia wants to secede from the rest of the country. Recently, there was a tribal war in northern Somalia between the Dhulbahante tribe (“SCC”) and the Isaaq tribe (“Somaliland”). As a result, Somaliland only controls 30 percent of northern Somalia. Horn of Africa Geographically is Blessed indeed Has the potential to be one of the world's most developed spots but the problem is
Ethnic,clan politics,Religous (Islamic) Extremism and too much Foreign interference which support nations in the region to fight their neighbors and plunge it into chaos.
This is mainly seen in the case of Ethiopian state even though it has large water and agriculture potential it always keeps on begging for food and aids from foreign Donors who control its foreign policies which are most of the time to invade other neighboring states like Eritrea,Somalia..etc
Or Somalia which since the fall of Said Barre relies on too much Arab donations who export their Islamic extremism into the country which is now one of the main reasons why it has no internal peace.

Who invaded whom? Ethiopia never invaded Somalia. Also, the Eritrean case is very different and was not an invasion. Yes, we have been begging for food, but that was due to an underdeveloped agricultural sector affected by seasonal drought and civil war fueled by historical enemy countries like Egypt, which doesn't want Ethiopia to be independent. Dude, there's nothing to be gained by invading Somalia-it's just desert and sand.
