Actually his first interaction with the real luffy is silly on another level, at that point Demaro thought he was a big shot while being a nobody. While luffy is trying to be a nobody, when he is a big shot.

I realized today... Luffy doesn't use guns because Shanks trained him that guns lock your resulting actions into having to be serious and kill someone... Luffy stands for absolute freedom of actions and being silly so neither are acceptable.
And the fact that his punches are just as good as bullets but he doesn't need to reload or have bullets.....
Guns are way more work.....
I am amazed Demaro Black survived this long in the Grand Line despite biting more than he can chew with his bravado and impersonations.
My guess would be that he impersomated stronger pirates his entire life, thus getting recocnised, feared, avoided and also loved and admired by others. He basically lied his way where he stands now, and while impersonating others, his bounty froze too.
It's definitely a recurring theme in One Piece, between Usopp, Buggy, possibly even Foxy and guys like Black here, that faking it till you make it and at least *trying* to exude some sense of confidence goes a hell of a long way in the pirate world. And I actually love that, because it feeds into the kinda nasty, stupid, scheming, sniveling world of piracy that probably makes up most of it even up to the end of Paradise at least, and the grand majority of pirates that are too weak and uninteresting to directly be part of the story most the time but help keep the seedy underbelly of piracy what it should be at these times we get a glimpse of it; the vast majority are going to be NOTHING like Luffy or the cooler pirate crews we meet.

It should be noted that while the Grand Line CAN be a hell, it's also just another sea too.... so surviving isn't impossible.....
As long as he doesn't meet anyone too dangerous that would randomly kill, he should be safe....

When Demaro Black shows back up during Vegapunk's message he doesn't have the "Luffy" scar. It seems like Damaro (or maybe a different crew member) actually does have a talent for makeup and fake scars.

I actually think that Liam missed him in the Egghead Arc. He said at the start of the video that his whole story is only 5 chapters and that Saobody was the last time we saw him.

I m thrilled for the day the foxy video goes online. Showing an antagonist that just like luffy searches for his form of freedom but instead of aquiring the title of pirat king he wants to aquire the best crew possible via davey back fights.
I didn't even realize that he was considered a villian.
The fake Straw Hats was something I never expected to see, but in hindsight it makes sense for people to try to get some clout off the name of a big league pirate that hasn't been seen in 2 whole years. I'm just kind of upset that Buggy wasn't the mastermind responsible for the fakes, it would have made so much sense for him to just mess with the Straw Hat's reputation out of spite or boredom.
Imagine Bartolomeo showing up for Demaro's recruitment... Either he falls for it completely or the more violent option, crushes Demaro between two of his barriers 😅

To go into detail, I have a feeling that Laffitte is Lucci's Bird. Lafitte is known to have STRONG hypnotizing powers as he made guards open the gates of justice. What's strange is how Rob Lucci acted during water 7 in allowing Hattori to do all the talking. When you account for the fact that he has a Pigeon DF. A LOT is weird about him. Just waiting for one of the big one piece channels to cover this.

That he shot someone for having too low a bounty almost feels like a statement against people that use the bounties as power scaling.
I think you've overlooked the actual location of that body scar. Demaro Black is 36 years old and has probably been pretending to be more famous pirates for the majority of his career. Personally I think it hints that at some point in the past he pretended to be Kaido and just like he goofed the number of lines with Luffy he put Kaido's scar on the wrong side.

I know it's unlikely, but when we saw that Demaro and crew were locked up, I've been wanting badly for chopper and luffy to come across them and try to save them from prison because they don't recognize that they aren't the real Eustace and crew.

Theory idea: Blackbeard has a similar alter ego as Cavendish. Only three differences are 1)BB has three alternate personalities instead of two like Cavendish/Hakuba 2)BBs personalities work towards the same goal(s) 3)Each of them know of the others.
In the real world, sometimes twins will absorb one another, and if they’re fraternal the one that is eventually born, can have multiple hair colors, and sometimes heterochromia. If you make BB a triplet that absorbed his siblings in the womb it would explain the 3 skulls, his(&oda) obsession with the number three, and his ability to eat two or more devil fruits. DNA= lineage factor if you got three sets of DNA you could have three different devil fruits for each different lineage factors. Think about it
And if he absorbed his siblings it would tie into the theme that everyone that has a DF has one that perfectly fits their personality.

NGL, Sentoumaru recognizing Luffy, and especially that line of "Luffy isn't some scumbag like you" had me tripping for years until Sentoumaru was further explored in egghead. While the world was debating Carrot vs Yamoto for nakama, I was sitting there wondering how this random not marine knew luffy so well.
At first it seems wild that such despicable pirates would believe that Bemaro Black was the real Luffy, but then you remember that Luffy's biggest actual fanboy is one of the most hated characters within their own world.
Hey now, “We Were” was actually sung by Sanji’s Japanese VA. I thought he did a good job all things considered lol
I think what I love most about "Three-Tongued" Demalo Black is how dumb he and his crew are for thinking their plan of impersonating the Straw Hat Pirates would actually work. Even setting aside the real Straw Hat Pirates showing up, there's no way they were going to survive in the New World based purely on Luffy's reputation and Demalo Black's newest recruits. Sure, Buggy managed to make it work, but he went through a series of incredible events that made him look so good in the eyes of the Impel Down prisoners that they were bound to follow him no matter what he said, in addition to his past and pedigree. A lot of these new pirates joining him at Shabody Archipelago probably aren't going to be as blinded by "Luffy's" reputation to follow him no matter what, and that's to say nothing of Caribou planning on stabbing him in the back on top of that. Really, getting soundly defeated and captured by Sentomaru was probably the best outcome for him here. The best part of this, though, is that we recently got to see what Demalo Black's up to and he STILL hasn't learned anything, in that now he's pretending to be Eustass Kid! I wouldn't be surprised if he's impersonating someone else by the end of One Piece!
Fun Fact: Demaro Black then proceeded to impersonate Eusatss Kid because in world for them the Kid pirates disappered during the Dressrosa saga when Kid was defeated by Kaido and then imprisoned in Udon. At the time Kid had even an higher bounty than Luffy (Luffy would surpass his bounty only after defeating Doflamingo). Before Wano ended and Big Mom and Kaido were defeated, nobody in the outside world knew that the Kid's pirates had been in Wano for all this time. Only after Kid's new bounty was published, the world discovered the truth. (And now Kid is seemingly gone again after being defeated by Shanks, but that's another story)
The love that the fake straw hats were voiced by the real straw hats but swapped to be voicing different members of the crew.
imagine of Demaro it gets Enies Lonby treatment in the final war, imagine he's running around with named characters and they keep mistaking him for the character that he's disguised as, making him a relevent chatecter like what they did with Mr 3 .
Incorrect on Luffy's interest in girls. As Oda says, Usopp brings out Luffy's naughty side so when Bon Clay shows off Nami's good, that IS the real Luffy.

if i remember correctly - at least according to the Anime - Luffy and Zorro didn´t fight back at Bellamy in Mock Town because Nami had told them so prior to visiting the town. and both kept their promise to their superior commander - that is Nami - even when she told them to fight back already.

I mean if joyboy knew that there would be someone else what other treasure would he leave besides his hat to symbolize the same thing that shanks was trying to get Luffy to realize… he already left the ancient weapons… I think IMU already has the one piece and when shanks said it’s time to claim the one piece in Japanese it’s said that he said it in a literal sense of let’s go and steal the one piece!! It has to be the Straw Hat… From the beginning the most significant thing in the story has been the straw hat… I believe the D clan was the original straw hat pirates and that IMU was the traitor that Dr Vegapunk was referring too.. the will of D isn’t to hide the from ones that bear the name.. but to not expose the traitor which is NERONA D. IMU of the original Straw Hat Pirates!!

guys i think im onto something, i dont remember in wich chapter, but now demalo black is claiming to be Kid and his crewmates, and there is a parallel with how when the straw hat crew was defeated in sabaody, damalo claimed to be luffy and his crew. Maybe the same thing is happening now ? Kid was defeated by shanks, and now they're gonna have a training arc somewhere?

Because well executed gag characters and the "I didn't expect you to be this amazing when I first met you" like Miosgard and Buggy (yes I am comparing the two and no I will not take questions) are my favorites. Major, MAJOR props to whomever it was that turned Big Mom into Endive from Chowder. Makes me laugh whenever I see it and the fact that only a handful of people will recognize her makes it even better. 😂
I never really liked the Jaya scene where Bellamy beat Luffy and Zoro. With Shanks, there was just some spilling of beer, but Shanks quickly turned when one of his friends (Luffy) got harmed. But with Jaya, Luffy didn't do anything despite being beaten up, let Zoro get beat up, and put Nami in risk of getting beat up as well. I just never saw these two moments as anything close to the same. "Not a threat" you say, but they were clearly beaten the blood out of them. I'd say that is a threat. Not life threatening, but does it need to go that far for it to be a threat? To me it just felt like Luffy didn't really care about Zoro or Nami's well being in that scene.
You didn't mention the parallel about Demaro Black pulling a gun on Luffy just like the bandit did on Shanks in chapter 1 while Shanks said you shouldn't pull a gun on someone if you can't back it up. And Demaro Black couldn't back it up either.

I like how he somehow knew to include the torso scar, but didn't bother with the 3D2Y tattoo on his arm which was seen in literally the most recent image of Luffy he had to go off of at the time.
People underestimate how impressive Demaro is. Ok, yeah, he's not Strawhat level, but he GOT TO SABAODY and survived the Grand Line. Freaking Don Krieg had an Armada and could not achieve that until recently
I love how it’s like tuning in to a show you haven’t watched in a long time , the characters may look different. Odd definitely planned to update the straw hats but we tuned in after 2 years to a misdirection. We only didn’t react because we saw the straw hats behind the scenes training. But frankly definitely could’ve been an impostor after 2 years
Imagine if Black landed on Green Bit. I think he'd leave because the Tontattas would be to easy to trick, hed either feel guilty or bored.

Demaro is the version of Luffy that the world sees him as; cruel and a monster going against the world government. He’s willing to kill for minor slights to his personality and was amassing a grand fleet to go and pillage the new world, which is how most people view Luffy who havent met him yet

With the reality of how everyone was fooled by Demaro Black because of the perception given by the WG and Bird News, I wonder how Garp specifically saw Luffy's exploits. Iirc the only times we really see him react in any direct manner is during the Paramount War. Even at Water 7 I don't think he directly comments on the Enies Lobby incident, just his general being a pirate. Does he think his grandson a horrendously evil being? Or does he know more of that truth? In fact how does he see Dragon for that matter?
youre right about luffy being overrated, the story likes to show top tier fighters battle for multiple days straight, like jimbe vs ace, or kuzan vs sakazuki. after luffy fights for a few hours and needs a damn meat buffet to continue fighting.
Those villians usually dont fight luffy as an equal and end up underrating him
Those are relatively equal fighters. Ace and jimbei fought for five days but ace and bb fought for only a few hours. See the diffrence.
