- Welcome back to the wonderful world of oblivion where today we will see if it is possible to beat the elder Scrolls IV using the worst weapon in the game that's right we are going to do the dirty hoe build. The Challenge is simple can you beat the game without defeating an enemy with anything other than a hoe. This is of course not an overpowered build but by abusing the games code and sequence breaking the game we are able to destroy the games balance and find a miraculous way to win without ever really fighting the oblivion crisis and closing the oblivion gates. with starfield release day on the horizon and the starfield trailers and gameplay dropping I felt the need to revisit this classic and see if I could achieve the most blursed victory.
so today the spiffing Brit will see if oblivion is a perfectly balanced game or if it is possible to beat with the hoe only challenge! expect bugs, glitches, exploits and your standard Bethesda experience.

As a French man, I can confirm "fighting like a Frenchman" actually means "looking for a hoe that defies the laws of physics and biology, then annihilate everyone with it".
In my mind, the most French way of fighting will always be the kicking and slapping of jeu marseillais.

Its hilarious that the premise of the video implies that you'll be completing many quests and slaying the forces of evil with only the hoe, but then the reality of the video is you fight umbra with it, die multiple times, then give up and cheese the ending of the game which doesnt require or use the hoe at all. This is quality content.
So much nostalgia in one video, duplication glitch,paint brush glitch and the quest completion glitch. This is what legends were born out of.

I like to imagine that the guards fought valiantly and the prince braved the wilds of the world to get to the temple and then a strange orc with a hoe shows up and takes credit for everyone's accomplishments and, after the final battle, goes crazy and yells at people while swinging his hoe " I am the hoe lord!" and is easily killed. 10/10 would see the movie.
Spiff I'm shocked! Umbra is incredibly easy to kill! If you perform a max range pickpocket she will inevitably catch you attempting to steal from her what this does is cause her to walk towards you without triggering combat. Since you are max range you have enough time to run away from her where she will continue to walk towards you until she talks to you allowing you to walk her through all the traps until she dies.
I believe it is also possible to lead her to town and have the guards and any unfortunate townspeople kill her.
@@greenhornadventure While that is possible, it's trickier as it can easily be messed up to where the guards aggro onto you and defend Umbra rather than defending you from her.

@@greenhornadventure That's pretty much exactly what I did- tried a sneak bow attack, kited to town, and watched the bodies pile up before pillaging the equipment
Paralysis over the spike trap works too, ingredients are cheap early levels if you know how or have the dlc.
Didn't evven think there could be a worse weapon in oblivion or any Bethesda game but you're telling me a farming tool can be worse than your fists? Also your character looks beautiful Brit.

@@wealthybone2990 both Skyrim and Oblivion have fortify unarmed enchants and I think there's some alchemy ingredients that work for it too. Plus khajiit in Skyrim get the claws bonus that makes early brawls super easy.
Every Bethesda rpg gives you the ability to dissolve bones with your bare hands
Play as a Kajhiit its much more powerful in skyrim and better than average in oblivion. In oblivion there are fisticuff augmenting gauntlets in a chest outside the arena next to the boxing woman and argonian.
This makes me upset that there aren't more improvised weapons in Skyrim, I've love to be a Tavern Brawler and use a frying pan against a dragon

There's a weaponized junk mod which allows you to use items like pots or pans or mugs to get used as weapons

You can cheese the Umbra fight by being an Argonian and baiting her into the room with all the poison gas traps, you know, the ones that you are immune to and she isn't...

So strange that in the village where you find the hoe, all the farm tools start attacking you with farm tools.
So funny enough. I accidentally found the paintbrush glitch early on when I was young and tried to climb the tallest building with them. I couldn’t find a way to safely land on tue other side so I never found the secret door and didn’t know about it until 15 years later

You know Spiff, you actually can kill the jerk in the other cell. It’s actually required if you want to finish the Dark Brotherhood quest line
And that’s why I always do the Dark Brotherhood quest line in Oblivion (Well that and the murder house quest, GOD that was such a banger quest)

Anyone else holds their breath whenever leaving the sewer in Oblivion? That's the moment you learn if you can actually play the game or there is no real terrain, you fall down to the LOD terrain to your death and have to reinstall the whole game...

my favourite thing to do in Morrowind is buy a 1-second Fortify Enchant 300 pts enchantment, and break the rest of the game with any enchantment i want _for free!_

Out of the hundreds of hours that I've put into both oblivion and skyrim, I realize that I've never completed the main quest in either.

This makes me want to see him break daggerfall or daggerfall unity in a challenge that doesn't use magic considering how broken magic was in those games. Spiff just slightly and slowly going backwards in the elder scrolls timeline.

I know you can cheese Umbra with a bow, or magic, but early game hand to hand doesn't go well. Normally I get disarmed, and run around looking for my sword until i die.

Umbra was how I started every run. I would dupe to get enough money to buy the staff that does 33 of each element damage.
What I love about Umbra's armour and weapon is that because its a quest item its weightless 🤣🤣
Only umbra's weapon is weightless. The armor has ebony weight. And if you complete the clavicus vile and choose umbra, the sword has weight

The sword isn’t worth having at high level. You can craft better weapons. It looks cool, but that isn’t enough to make it worth having end game.
@@TH-camcanfuckagoat never said it was worth having. Just correcting OP. Enchanted weapons with sigil enchanted armor and custom spells are easily the best combinations in the game
