Today my husband had kept his shaving gel(Gillette) for throwing, which was brand new, but the gel was not coming out. I searched on TH-cam for some hack, came across this video! Since i dint have a can opener, I opened it very crudely by using a knife and a plier 🤣😅. But guess what, it worked absolutely perfect! I have kept the entire plastic sack in another container, want to show my husband, the recovered shaving gel !!! Thanks!
So basically the video is awesome but it tells me Gillette company is doing pretty bad at production in regard to this specific can. Great video overall bro. 🙏🏼

@@sillyentz got a new Schick not long ago and I noticed they have a new nozzle. Went to use it today, and it fizzled out. Still has majority of the cream inside. Really annoyed.
Gillette thinks it can get away with everything. Most of their cans seem to have this problem. Bought 2 (one after the other) and same issue in both. Wrote/complained to them but it seems they know they have a problem, yet no solution, so they keep pushing the stuff onto gullible customers ( most don't complain actually)

Great idea.. but can opener could not open the top - but worked fabulously to open the bottom. Pierced the bag with a knife and the gel ran out. Poured that into an pump soap dispenser. Problem solved.
I just tried it and although the can opener couldn't get "inside the rim" to open the can (my brand of can is narrower than yours) i was at least able to make a random hole with the can opener, and then afterwards I prised the rest off with a pair of pliers, got the bag out and put it in a jar). With the pliers though you have to be very careful not to slip and hurt yourself as you're making your way round the can. Thanks again for the video !! Without watching this, I would never have realised you could open the can and inside there was just a bag. 😅

yeah, only once opened it will dry out what is left of it, and unless you can do something to maintain the moisture it will probably be a one time use once you opened it, and that clearly wasn't intended for when was sold as a spray gel can combo, but the tip for opening it like a normal can was surely useful
Great tip. Like others I had to open from the bottom. Pulled the bag with some needle nose pliers, it came right out. I put the contents into a couple of 3 oz travel bottles.
Thank you so much for this video. I had to open from the bottom of the can, as my can opener wouldn't grip around the top at all. Then I just punched a hole in the bag and squeezed everything out to an airtight container for use. Love these money-saving hacks, thanks again!

i have a can design that is a much improvement over this. One of those vacuum design, where there is a pusher underneath, and as you use the gel, it goes up, and this design pretty much won't have any wasted product. Think of the design of a syringe inside the bottle.
Gillette needs to get their act together. This happened to two cans bought months apart. Cans rusting add to a picture of bad materials and worse quality control.
Hi Jon, Great tip, but as a bearded man and someone who has grown a mighty beard in the past, I wondered what your thoughts on beard products, such as oils, butters and balms were. Do you use any? Or are you more likely to just use regular shampoo and conditioner? Thanks Gav
Sorry for the delayed reply. I never really used any regularly, so I can't recommend anything. Like you said, just regular shampoo and occasionally conditioner.
Question: do you think that would work if I pour that into a soap dispenser! Granted it would probably take quite a few bottles to fill! Unless you know of a shaving gel that can be poured into one of those! Thanks I’m advance!
I get wanting to save the stuff you already paid for but i can't tell you how much better using a decent brush and soap that is made for your skin is over this gel goop which doesn't even begin to measure up to something like Taylor of old bond.
Do not shake these cans. This will preserve the inner pressurised pocket integrity. I come from the 3rd generation of Gillette users in my family - and definitely the last one. I will not be buying Gillette products anymore. That is one appalling design that should have never passed the design approval.
Keith Love it doesn’t work the same. We just opened a can to allow my daughter to make fluffy slime. There is no bag inside, so I recommend opening it from the bottom, which was easier for us. But once it is open, the “foam” is liquid inside. We put it in a bowl and whisked it like meringue. It entered it’s normal “foam” state.

So you learned not to buy 6 tubes at a time as they lose pressure and do not work. And then you are like BTW, below is a link to buy your 6 pack 😂

How do you depressurize the can to make it safe to open by can opener?
awe, i tried this and all the product was used up lol . XD it felt like there was a lot in there. i guess it was just the bag bouncing around
It should feel pretty heavy inside,not just bouncing sound you were looking for.
