    That is excellent. Faux patina is all the rage right now so it’s interesting to see it can be done at home. I have that dial spare here so I might have to try this out with a new case.look forward to the rest of this series!

    I like to take some off-white paint, add some sulphur and chill it in the fridge before applying. I call it Funky Cold Patina. You.are.welcome.

    Wow very cool. Good video. So the coffee only stains the lume and not the dial printing? Those sure look good.

    That’s awesome. I love the tropical look but don’t feel comfortable wearing a 20k watch.

    Lot easier way I found was coffee and tea staining. No risk of failure! Accidently came across this myself while about to do your method.

      Can you tell me how to do it

    What happens to the lume itself? Is it functionally destroyed? That is, does the faux patina lume still work as lume?

    • @DIYWatchClub
      @DIYWatchClub  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for bringing this up! It is indeed an important aspect we didn't cover in the video. In our testing, the lume is still functional and the lume strength only suffers very slightly.

    Awesome video! Can this technic work on hands? as it is much thinner, would the metal eventually bend ?

    I can do that same color with a marker but trade secret I can't tell you which color marker. It'll look exactly and cleaner.
