The wiring looks so good. It looks like Professional wired the dragster. I can’t wait to hear the Big Block rumble!
I’ve now done a couple cars, and basically came up with the same ideas for the most part, I’m in the process of rebuilding my dragster from powdercoat up, so I’ll be wiring on it here soon. Only tip I would give, is things like the electric fuel pump wire should be worked into the harness, at least somewhere near the fuel cell, then covered with some heat shrink, and labeled. And it’s just a suggestion in case you or the next owner decided to use an electric pump. Also, great job on the wiring, you achieved at least your 7/10!
brandon long you’re absolutely right. I wish I would have done that. 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ It’s going to be a nightmare if I ever go electric ⚡️
GallStar TV just don’t decide to do that! Lol
Awesome wiring! I don't think I even have the patience to make it look that good. Great work!
Next-level B-roll toward the end 👌
I'm glad there's still people on here that appreciate some good b-roll 😁
It LOOKS great! Neat, organized, good colors, etc . From the standpoint of cleanliness, termination techniques, materials, etc... I say 9/10. You zip-tie tips are spot-on. I learned this stuff wiring sound equipment for concert-level PA systems and the neatness is much appreciated.
Did you follow the dirty bus/clean bus concept, separating high-draw devices like solenoids, pumps, starter, etc from data and control? Spikes from relays/solenoids turning on and shutting off can cause huge voltage spikes, even bigger when shutting off, that can cause problems with data recorders, traction control, shift and boost controllers., etc
Bottom line - good looking work.
Thank you so much for posting. I need to try to wire my racecars
You would think that wiring videos would be boring and get old but your editing is so good! Could probably do 4 more videos on it 😂! Again wiring looks professionally done great job! 9
Dude THANK YOU! I'm glad you feel that way, hopefully others do too 😁 I'm glad the wiring is done and I can move on though!!
If it starts and does what it's supposed to, 9.25! Looks great!
man that's a super clean wiring job. you should be proud!
Wiring job looks awesome.
Thanks Leland!!
Man that looks professional
Looks a thousand times better than some people’s wiring.
Looks good.. fixing to install same setup on my suncoast
Funny ending, still laughing, everything looks great.
George Davis hahaha 😂. I was too serious for too long in this video... gotta keep with a little humor from time to time 👍
That looks great!...Im starting to rewire my car now...Hope it turns out half as good as yours...
Just take your time man!! Enjoy it!
Looking good. I trust you'll be documenting every terminal for trouble shooting. Not much fun trying to help someone at the track troubleshoot with a nest of wires and no idea what goes where.
Master Cylinder I have a couple ideas for labeling some things that I’m working on 👍👍
Great work, Tom! That is one of the cleanest and well-laid out wiring jobs I have seen on a race car. BTW Any idea when you will be able to hit the track this year?
Vehicle Visionary that is a great question... as I’m sure you’re aware, it seems like things change every day.. I try not to think about it but it’s impossible 😔
Man that looks awesome I look at my dads wiring and yikes I look at yours and it looks perfect good job man keep up the good videos and I think your wiring is a 9 or 10
Thanks man!! #morezipties!
Yeah no problem I’m just telling the truth
You need to come south and run big money everybody would love to see it!
Well I actually had some pretty big plans this year but yeah... Now I'm just hoping to get on track this year... 😞
@@GallStarTV have you thought about playing dragfactor 2.0 on rfactor
I use rubber lined hose straps to hold wires where I want them.. like at the ignition box
Do you prefer the round wheel over the butterfly wheel and why ? The wiring looks real good and easy to trouble shoot if need be.
frank styles great question. I’ve never used a butterfly before, so I couldn’t tell ya!! I do like the round wheel for pushing the car around... but that’s pretty minor
Really appreciate your videos here. Great timing for me since I'll be wiring soon. Your wiring looks like a 10. What I was hoping to see more of is information about how you did all the grounding--I do like the junction blocks. Of course, to be complete this must include the battery cables themselves. The chassis I just bought has the positive cable buried in the bottom rail like yours. Did you replace yours? Are you running a negative cable from the motor back to the battery (seems like a good idea and some recommend this). Also, wire routing and anchoring around the chassis is of interest. Thanks!
Hey Tim! I'll try to answer a few of your questions. I basically ran one entire side of those junction blocks to a good chassis ground. Every component is either grounded there or to a clean chassis ground by itself. I did NOT replace the large battery cables, re-wiring an older car like mine it's always hard to know where to stop with tearing things out. I didn't replace the big expensive stuff. I do have a ground from my battery back to the engine for sure. My chassis has clean tabs all over for grounding, so it was pretty easy for me 👍
Nice job.. I give you a 9
Great job ...if it works. Gona go watch the 1st'ns
8.2 Looks great, But i didn't see any Hot Dog Sandwiches or Fruit Calzones which would have raised it to 9.2 ;)
Scott O I need to work on my product placement 😆
Mine's next .
First of all. I'll give you a solid 9.4.
Second of all, if that oil pressure light ever comes on at 330ft in the final round, you letting off or sending the rods to the moon?
Cody Field oh man!! 😂. Depends if I’m the faster or slower car. If I’m slower I probably won’t see it so it might get sent!!! (Don’t tell the old man) 😬😬😬
Just saved 5% at K&R with promo code gallstar5 on a dual side dial board, RBZ bracket, and air pump!
Let’s goooo!!!! 👊🤘💰💵
What year is your dragster?
2006
6.5
Large bundle of wires serving various systems from the relay board is probably not the best way to avoid voltage drop.
Separating these systems out and grouping them inside loom tape would provide better anti-vibration than cable clips alone & provide better
maintenance access. When making videos, talk to explain what you're doing & why, rather than just talk.People watching may have a low b.s. threshold
Good luck
Well until this whole thing ends
Ok, I'm just an idiot that takes photos and makes tee shirts, so I will ask the dumb questions... How many feet of wire, and how many zip ties, did you use? Inquiring minds want to know.
Tim McVay feet of wire is a HUGE question mark... but zip ties is probably 300+ counting all the ones i cut off to redo 🤣
ONLY WIRING DO IS PLAYING THE GAME OPERATION
🤣
