  • @jdtracing6502
    @jdtracing6502 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Very very good videos. I have watched all the wiring ones multiple times and ordered all the same components you use. Very helpful
    To me. I am about to take on my first attempt at wiring a complete car from scratch. What do you do when the Fueltech wire harness is not long enough to reach your battery and some of the other components in the rear of the car? It states in the manual that it must be connected to the battery with no seams? Does that mean I can use a butt connector to extend it, and I t just needs to be a sealed wire from end to end? Or does it mean that it needs to be one solid piece from end to end? Sorry if this seems like a simple question but I would rather ask a question and do it once and do it right. Thank you!

    Thanks for this, very informative. I do wonder why you don't solder? I was under the impression that soldering was best for connectivity and to prevent them coming apart. No?

    • @StreetCarJoe
      @StreetCarJoe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They say solder is actually weak to vibrations and tension stress and will cause it to crack. A proper crimp with heat shrink is more “reliable”. I’ll be honest, I’ve done both for years. GM actually used to train techs how to solder wiring harnesses. I still solder in some instances...

All the top cars are doing it, it’s a great way to future proof your race car. would be a shame to go to all that trouble wiring up relays and so forth, when you could simplify your wiring with a PDM.
