The thing about DnD gods, they have portfolios. For lesser gods, they can share portfolios but for greater deities, they cannot share portfolios. It sounds that Gale just became a greater deity and thus why he isn’t a deity of magic. Astarion would most likely, as ascended, be a god of vampires and undead since there isn’t a portfolio for that. Since all of the “death” gods portfolio specializes on things that death involve, like grieving from Shar, decay from Myrkul, etc.

@@themudpit621 not really. We didn’t actually kill the dead three. We only killed their chosen and or their avatars. And those are different in DnD. Killing an actual god is almost impossible. I dunno. But it's a very interesting ending, a vampire becoming a god, can he becomes a god even if he stays as a spawn?
i think gale will just honor ambition, regardless of intent. similar to Mystra, in that she commends creating new spells, regardless of if they are "evil" or not. it's about the magic and not the intent. same with gale and ambition. and being a god now, it's totally his prerogative to do what he wants, so /shrug. lol
Astarion should be the God of the Helpless. The one people can pray to and actually be listened to, as opposed to what he himself experienced. Either that, or God of Stunting on your Former Abusers, which I also support.
To let him become a God seems like the best ending for unascended Astarion. He gets all the power he dreamt of and more without sacrificing thousands of innocent souls and part of himself.
He doesn’t lose any of himself when he ascends, writers confirmed in a recent interview that ascended astarion is still himself just coping with fear in a not so healthy way. The only thing undone is the “progress” made during the journey, but really this is a matter of perspective. If you want to play as a villain, from that perspective, it’s all a plus. Also, vampire spawn are considered monsters in dnd and to be killed anyway 🤷🏻♀️
@@darkurgediaries both outcomes are bittersweet and tragic in a way and I love him both ways. But to me not ascending is more his 'good' ending, so to renounce vampire ascension and instead become a God with Gale seems like the best possible outcome to me and the reward he deserves for acting so selfless after everything he's been through. I know it's still an ending many won't get because you have to play Astarion (or maybe also Gale?) origin to make it happen.
Gale as a gof of Ambition I feel could provide a major conflict in the future. Ambition is good, but like Greed or Zealotry I would consider it a good driving force for a major villain and Gale already by act 3 I feel cpuld enter that path.
There is a new raphael epilogue where he basically says what’s going to happen to god gale, I’ve uploaded it and you can find it in my raphael playlist!
I do wonder, becoming ascendant seems to stifle astarions “humanity” and sense of empathy, does he REGAIN those qualities he had as a spawn when attaining godhood? Or is he now the evil ascended astarion who now also just has god powers
The ritual brings him to life again (no longer undead) and his mortal drives and ambitions return to him, and it removes all negative side effects of vampirism. In my opinion it’s not that he doesn’t have emotions, because he clearly does when his careful mask slips on occasion. it’s that he is guarding those emotions and empathy very closely with said mask. I feel being a god would either help him to feel less guarded and thereby lessen his desire for power (which ultimately equates to safety & protection that he is desperate for) or he would just go full world domination haha Of course anyone is free to interpret these things as they will but this is my two cents.
As a god you basically lose those, or be punished. Mystra got into trouble for that post-godhood. So whatever portfolio Astarion picks up, that would be his only focus. If Gale's portfolio doesn't have any similarity their relationship is basically over. Gale clearly didn't learn his former mistress's history well enough. I also can't imagine Ao rewriting the Tablets on Gale's whimsy, or any of the evil gods happily giving space to these two, so these two will have a long, ugly road ahead of them.
Funnily enough, I think Astarion would change being a god....as an Ascendant he had ambition, but now he's hit peak; I think he'd suddenly have all the time in Elysium to reflect. I think he'd pair off with Gale's Ambition and become a deity with domains of Freedom, Healing, and Justice. "Seek justice against those who wrong you, and receive succor in your times of desperate need. And don't be afraid to dream big, Darlings. Don't let others imprison or hold you back."
Okay, now i HAVE to finish my started Astarion playthrough where i had planned for him to romance Gale. Their banter between each other just screams rivals to lovers, and that epilogue just... ugh.... i love it so much! Its so sweet its giving me diabetes
GOD, the way i gasped when the silver light that looked good on gale changed to golden 😭 that Elysium lighting is not one bit flattering on his skin you can see everything......... i hope i'm not the only one
What the hell this must have been bugged for me, I did the same exact route on my ascended astarion origin and never got the final godhood ascension scene :( gale just told me to wait and that he'd turn me into a god one day and the party ended
I've got the ending of gale origin ascended romanced with Astarion Ascended, compared to this... What i got is very dull. But to think of it, It does make senses. Astarion did said he doesn't like dating with good or great man. and to having a god bf stuck to his palace? to become god at Gale side is more reasonable.
I know god gale is supposed to be his "bad ending" but i'm honestly not seeing many downsides for him or anyone else. That speech about inspiring his followers honestly makes me root for him if anything.
This somehow didn’t work for me. I only had the option to tell gale that I don’t recognise him anymore… but I’m happy you gave me the chance to see the actual ‘evil’ bloodweave ending! Thank you:)
I saw someone saying it breaks the romance. Tbh I also think you can't, speaking from experience as I played Origin Astarion and ascended him wanting to turn romanced Shadowheart into his "consort", but the game never gives you the option and plays like normal Tav with her wanting to move to the farm, etc :(
Astarion, god of Freedom, the hope of those chained to servitude... Unless it's ascended, then it might be Astarion, god of Blood , the Ichor of the gods. Those are my takes on it, at least
I don't know. The thing is BG3 Mystra is the greatest Goddess as a person.. Astorian probably make a decent God of Free Slaves recovering their own agency. I kind of seeing Astorian working Ilmster as a team.

I dunno. But it's a very interesting ending, a vampire becoming a god, can he becomes a god even if he stays as a spawn?
Worse, as much as becoming a god made Gale an ahole
@@luchesisuzana7643 I suppose so.
i think gale will just honor ambition, regardless of intent. similar to Mystra, in that she commends creating new spells, regardless of if they are "evil" or not. it's about the magic and not the intent. same with gale and ambition. and being a god now, it's totally his prerogative to do what he wants, so /shrug. lol
He's the god of ambition, and what's more ambitious than ending 7 thousand people for your own quest for power?
@@uvbe True.
Makes me wish that if your Tav doesn't romance characters X and Y, that they start doing their own thing
Gale having his domain in Elysium (neutral good plane) makes some sort of sense. But I somewhat doubt that Astarion would make his home there 😂
Astarion should be the God of the Helpless. The one people can pray to and actually be listened to, as opposed to what he himself experienced.
Either that, or God of Stunting on your Former Abusers, which I also support.
Gale did what his ex lover never could :3
Holy crap that’s one hell of a way to escape a vampiric curse :o
lowkey this feels like the BEST ending like ye they're a little.... powermad but this ending is SO... UH i love it????
I’m here for it 🙌🏻
God damn. I never would have seen this under normal circumstances. That's crazy
Astarion getting to enjoy the sun :,)
God bloodweave is such a good ship, i love this
Astarion, the vampire god of self emancipation 🥀
I do wonder, becoming ascendant seems to stifle astarions “humanity” and sense of empathy, does he REGAIN those qualities he had as a spawn when attaining godhood? Or is he now the evil ascended astarion who now also just has god powers
The ritual brings him to life again (no longer undead) and his mortal drives and ambitions return to him, and it removes all negative side effects of vampirism. In my opinion it’s not that he doesn’t have emotions, because he clearly does when his careful mask slips on occasion. it’s that he is guarding those emotions and empathy very closely with said mask.
I feel being a god would either help him to feel less guarded and thereby lessen his desire for power (which ultimately equates to safety & protection that he is desperate for) or he would just go full world domination haha
Of course anyone is free to interpret these things as they will but this is my two cents.
Don't let others imprison or hold you back."
gale's line where he says that what drives you determines your domain..
i cant help but feel like astarion's would be fear
Feels weird with Astarion just sitting in silence.
This is now a head cannon of mine
Damn I could see Astarion becoming the God of Spite to rule by Gale's side. Works shockingly well!
Somehow it feels fitting for the God of Ambition and God of Ascension.. It feels like they would complement one another
...I finally have an incentive to do an Astarion origin run thank you
Okay, now i HAVE to finish my started Astarion playthrough where i had planned for him to romance Gale. Their banter between each other just screams rivals to lovers, and that epilogue just... ugh.... i love it so much! Its so sweet its giving me diabetes
Omg, just 2 days ago I was thinking Astarion would make a perfect god of Freedom! 😮
Astarion's ambitions + God of ambition = INFINITE POWER :)
"God of Survival" and "God of Ambition"
Together, any revenge minded orphan will have QUITE the divine backing.
I just realized this would be an alternate path to Karlach, being cured, possibly?
Romanced Gale ascending her. I'm curious now.
True. I had the same thought
It's also the only way for Lae'zel to "ascend" too.
"Finally a god I can get behind"
spit-take
I'm so mad. This is the ending I wanted! I encouraged him to follow the godhood path and he gave it up at the very end!
Did you finish his questline and talk to mystra? I think what you say to him when he speaks to mystra is the determining factor
He is truly the Ascended.
Oh yes, the famous gods of roommates.
Astarion: god of vampires
Alright, I guess THIS is the true good ending for Astarion then. Good for him.
This is really beautiful. Wow.
I can't see Astarion canonly dating Gale but so funny that if he did he would get power even more than he desired. lol
quite the waste of 7000 souls!
Knowing Ascended Astarion, he'll become the god of Ego
So that's like, double ascended.
“we heard you liked ascending, so we put an ascension in your ascension so you can ascend while you ascend”
Astarion, the God burdened by Glorious Purpose! lol
Astarion: God of the Sass.
WE ARE AS GODS (Mighty and powerful gods!)
Omg this is so them!!
GOD, the way i gasped when the silver light that looked good on gale changed to golden 😭 that Elysium lighting is not one bit flattering on his skin you can see everything......... i hope i'm not the only one
I love Gale's theme music 🎶🎶 ❤
This. This is what Atarion deserves and has always deserved! 👏
HA! He deserves to stand in my camp wearing the Umberlee dress as a half illithid. Bloody ASStarion.... breaking up with me all the damn time....
Astarion, God of being absolutely terrible at hiding the fact that you're a vampire.
He's lucky Ao hasn't slapped him down...cause mortals aren't meant for that kinda power unless he OKs it last I knew..
Astarion, patron god of cats.
Okay, but I was wondering about this! I'm glad someone else did it so that I didn't have to, lmao!
If this is what people call "evil Gale" ending then sign me up, anything to not have Mystra stepping all over him again.
'God of Wasting Valuable Loot' I almost died lol
What the hell this must have been bugged for me, I did the same exact route on my ascended astarion origin and never got the final godhood ascension scene :( gale just told me to wait and that he'd turn me into a god one day and the party ended
Astarion, the God of Vampires, the Lord of Blood
I've got the ending of gale origin ascended romanced with Astarion Ascended, compared to this... What i got is very dull. But to think of it, It does make senses. Astarion did said he doesn't like dating with good or great man. and to having a god bf stuck to his palace? to become god at Gale side is more reasonable.
Astarion; God of Hubris
I know god gale is supposed to be his "bad ending" but i'm honestly not seeing many downsides for him or anyone else. That speech about inspiring his followers honestly makes me root for him if anything.
It’s my preferred ending for him, people seem to forget even Mystra started off as a normal human 🤷🏻♀️
Sweet Jesus
Astarion is out here *DRIPPING!*
This somehow didn’t work for me. I only had the option to tell gale that I don’t recognise him anymore… but I’m happy you gave me the chance to see the actual ‘evil’ bloodweave ending! Thank you:)
A Vampire God was born
AYO THAT'S A NICE FIT
God of Ambition and God of Freedom? Sounds like a good duo for Faerun
Heck is Astarion getting even better looking???....my eyeballs can't cope.
Also mildly distracted by Gale's half unclothed chest
God Astarion enters his Femto arc
Does anyone know if you can play as Gale, become a god and turn your romance partner into a god/goddess?
i’m also wondering!
*saves this to watch after i actually finish my playthrough*
BLOODWEAVE! BLOODWEAVE! BLOODWEAVE! BLOODWEAVE! BLOODWEAVE! we stan :D
I don't know. The thing is BG3 Mystra is the greatest Goddess as a person.. Astorian probably make a decent God of Free Slaves recovering their own agency. I kind of seeing Astorian working Ilmster as a team.
Wow, that was unexpectedly wholesome and romantic!
first he gets the power of a devil in the 9 hells and now becomes an actual god??? Astarion is just built different i guess lol
