I like the IDEA of Halsin, but his generosity with his lovers just doesn't do it for me. That's why I love Astarion, because he wants you to himself. I have to own and be owned.

I never liked the idea of a partner saying "they might not be able to control themselves." From my perspective my priority is to protect myself above all else. So if my PARTNER basically tells me it's a high possibility that I may come to harm from sleeping with him then my answer is no. I will not have the mindset to problem solve his lack of discipline/his instincts taking over. Fellas if you feel you cannot control yourself, then offer a lighter experience. Halsin is 350yrs old and the shadow curse has been going on for 100 for which he has had no partner. He is backed UP xD. I'd bed someone who is aware that he is too freaking excited and needs to settle for a handy so he doesn't hurt me cuz he was SOoOoOoOoO horny. I'd rather that than just "trust" him then get hurt or disrespected. It's just an unfortunate situation cuz I'd stop romancing Halsin or at least back out of sleeping with him that night due to the fact that he basically said I won't be safe laying with him. And I get it it's a trope. Beastman with his wild nature/mythical instincts are taking over and it's gonna be a WIIIIIILD ride. But this is very much a real issue with the assumption that your partner is expected to be treated any kind of way because people view it as normal. I would love to see more guys offer solutions to them being overwhelmed from arousal because again, if you say you could hurt me I will just back off on default just for my own safety. Like we could just frot bro lmao.
Like if we both want a wild ride at least work up to and prepare for that wild ride. Otherwise don't do the wild riding. There's a plethora of things they could do that will cause ZERO harm to either party. Let's take penetration off the table until we've built up what we need(preparation, trust, etc...) to do more heavier stuff.
