I’m assuming since it was the future, Loki pruned himself. I bet in a future episode you’ll see him finding Sylvie in the elevator again and seeing his past self knowing he needs to be pruned for the loop to happen.
Was looking for this comment so I didn’t have to write it myself. I absolutely agree the mystery pruner is going to end up being Loki, so even though “present” Loki is disappointed to be separated from Sylvie yet again, the blow will be softened by the fact that “future” Loki gets to immediately step into that same spot.
Fun little easter egg (for me, at least) - Judge Gamble (as played by Liz Carr) is very likely named after Professor Gamble, a time-traveling Marvel character who was a very heavy-handed knock-off of the Doctor from Doctor Who.
the joy of going into shows blind. the smile of seeing Ke Huy Quan on the screen. yay. love the premiere. can't wait to see what's next. the end credit scene.... damn if that did not bring me back to my childhood... hahaha.... damn i'm getting old.
Loki is traveling along the same timeline within the TVA in this episode. He caused the orange ball/screen to fall that caused the crack in the floor were they didn't know who he was. Then when they did know who he was, it shows the windows all sealed and replaced with panels, and the crack on the floor. Loki first sees the heads of Kang on the wall, and then later has to prune the Timekeeper wall to expose the original Kang wall behind it. Also when Mobiius writes "skin?" in the dust on he monitor, Loki sees it when he travels to the future. Also the blast doors are closed.
I'm so glad to have this show back. I've no idea if the rest of the season suddenly implodes upon itself (reviews are all over the place even if the RT score is currently 85%) but this is one of the best MCU show premieres I've seen, recency bias be damned.
Don't tell me Sylvie orders everything and she cannot pay that's why she works there as we see her working in the trailer lol. Marvel is finally back! I can't wait what happened next couple of episodes.
I love the sequence with O.B. It reminds me a lot of Ocarina of Time and the whole revisiting the same location in two different time periods to progress in the story.
There was a neat little detail written on the floor at the entrance to the transponder room. About spaghettification. I laughed so hard at that. Thought it was hilarious that Ouroboros commented on that earlier 😆
people keep forgetting the TVA is outside of time and space it's not directly affected by the branching timelines that's why when Loki talks to OB in the "past" it updates the "present"... like Back to the Future time travel.
I definitely think the whole timeline of this episode will be revealed. When Loki sees the room with Kang's faces and the audio recording, it's likely in the past or future (or even both if we're talking about a time loop) and when they don't know who Loki is, I think it's because they've been memory wiped. So I don't think alternate timelines are involved.
So it seems to me, based on the concept of Time-slipping,........ that Back to the Future was NOT a bunch of bullshit lol..... Anyway, i loved this episode a lot
My favorite Marvel episode so far. Exciting, great chemistry and comedy, loved it! Plus they are definitely setting up the build towards the films already. Can't wait for next week!
I have it figured out… Loki tells Mobius he wishes he had more time in the hallway. We’ve already had the Scott Lang “So Back to the Future is bullshit?” Line from End Game. They are doing a Back to the Future riff with Loki traveling thru time saving himself by pruning himself as we see in this first episode, but he does it in the last episode to complete the Ouroboros.
Sylvie is going back to all the disaster times she was hiding in before...while they're NOT disasters. To see the places she was forced to live in for all that time, in their pristine state instead of in the process of being destroyed. That's why she seemed happy seeing everyone just...living. Sylvie is cunning and ruthless...but she's not evil. She doesn't want to hurt anyone. She's just not willing to give herself up, either. And since the TVA can't directly track her anymore (everything is causing branches everywhere, so it's literally like looking for a one specific needle in a pile of needles), she can go where she wants and do whatever she wants.
I Just saw This Episode in a Watch Party with my Friends and OMG This Episode was so Great I can't wait for the Next Episode, I Wish they went with the Castlevania Nocturne Netflix Route where they Released all the Episodes at Once.
I think it was the same time line and altered by changes. When Loki comes back in the "present" the floor was cracked from the car crash that occurred in an altered past that now included Loki. I do not think there are memory wipes.
I think the difference is that the humor in this episode came naturally instead of being forced. Also the camera work and editing were above par and seriously I thought Wes Anderson directed some of the scenes. As for who pruned him, I'm going with O.B. I'm getting major Matrix 2 architect vibes with this just being another reiteration of what has to happen in order for the sacred timeline to exist. The fact that the episode is called Ouroboros can't be a coincidence. Of course all of that could be wrong. Great episode though.
I'm really curious as to just how much of this is ad-libbed...because the way Moebius and Loki just riff off each other is so smooth and natural. At this point, I'm pretty much willing to watch anything with Owen and Tom together so long as there's at least humor to it (if not explicitly a comedy).
My sister got so offended about the McDonald's employ's accent because we are from Oklahoma, I absolutely love this show and so freaking excited that we are back, can't wait for next week!!!
*_On second watch, this episode was really great! Very confusing, but great! (Especially the acting) There are so many moments in this episode that I am sure we are going to revisit again and will explain the confusion in this episode. So I’ll give a POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT for anyone who doesn’t want “speculation to ruin the surprise , stop reading here..._* *_... I do believe that “truck” Loki fell into was driven by Sylvie in her McDonalds’ uniform, so she will in her future find herself in that moment (Will she also time slip?). Just like when Loki meets her trying to get out of the elevator in the future TVA, I bet future Loki will return to that moment, realize that it is his past self that needs pruning and Prune himself from behind (Only other possibility would be that TVA agents at that future time are trying to prune his future self and it’s a coincidence, but that would not be as satisfying). In any case, look forward to hearing that phone ringing again to indicate that we are back in that moment. Finally, that moment OB described of meeting Mobius 400 years ago is probably in Mobius’ future and we will see him get in an elevator and almost get out on the wrong floor and OB will prevent him from that mistake. Mobius probably will have another way of traveling through time in the TVA than time slipping, as OB clearly remembered his encounter with Mobius without delay, unlike his Loki one (Probably a tech they’ll steal from Kang)._* *_I think that by the time the second season ends, we’ll have had many palmface moment in realizing how many moments like those come back to make more sense_*
Having Ke Huy Quan on the show is definitely a nod to "Everything Everywhere All at Once" which explores the whole mulitple universes/timelines thing like this show does. I hope he's in more episodes.
I love this show so much. I think its best not to get to invested in the exact science of time lol. Its not like Dark. 😂😂lets just roll with it! Loki is in my top 3 marvel characters and him and Owen Wilson are awesome together. Even more dynamic than last season.
@Omn1Media, 23:22 Agreed. If you have a person who never sleeps and doesn't work with anyone else, EVER, I guess you don't need to erase that person's memory. Did Kang do that on purpose or did he slip up? This was an excellent start to the season! I hope they keep this energy up all the way through. 10/10 for me =)
I think that OB is not exactly human. He seems like he's the architect of the serious stuff at the tva. Maybe he does the job because he has to and not for selfish reasons, he could be some time related deity whose hand was forced by Kang.
OB might have all his memories because like loki he might be some mythological being and he's in charge of "time". I found this online: "Time is represented as a cycle in the paradox of the ouroboros. It suggests that every moment of the present is devoured by the future. The snake is biting its own tail and devouring itself." It seems like the tva is doing something unnatural by keeping time "linear" when it's not. The different timelines are not threats imo, but people like Kang and Wanda can be.
Loki and Obi meet in the past, he doesn’t remember it because his memories are being changed in the future because at that exact time they are meeting in the past. What is odd is Obi remembers meeting Mobius, his mind wasn’t wiped for a reason after that meeting, I think I know why. I think Mobius did the mind wipes, he didn’t wipe Obi because they needed him to remember the past, to fix the future. We are all thinking Kang is the villain, and he is, but not how we think. He’s another villian that thinks he’s doing terrible things, but for the greater good.

Do all possible timelines across the multiverse go through the loom, or only some of them? Is life possible in raw time, or does it only happen after it's turned into a timeline using this artificial method? I'm guessing not this, because first there needs to be life, for the loom to be built. So either there can be stable timelines outside of the loom, and the person who built it (Kang?) came from one of those, or life can exist somehow in raw time. Or maybe the multiversal war caused time itself to be disrupted, and when it was over the loom was built. Maybe it's something else entirely, I guess. 😅
I think Kang from last season mentioned the "evil" Kangs to Sylvie and Loki? The monument with the many faces might be the Kangs who started the tva to protect everyone from their variants, maybe one of them went rogue and took it over.
It is just time, Loki isn’t multiverse hopping, he’s meeting them in the past before Kang was erased from the story. We were lead to believe he jumped multiverse because of the Kang statues, but that’s earlier in the TVA time line. We are being lead to believe Kang did all the erasing, but I think it was Loki and Mobius and everyone there who knows how it all was started, we just don’t know why yet.
Hummmmmm.... So now we know when Mobius visits Renslaier in season one, Mobius questions the cup rings on her table. She says, "You did it..." . Mobius must have done it before his memory was erased. I believe they at the TVA often get memory wipe....

I’m happy they leaned into the bromance between Moebius and Loki. Those two have great chemistry together.
Those two are best friends off screen and you can’t tell me different
I’m assuming since it was the future, Loki pruned himself. I bet in a future episode you’ll see him finding Sylvie in the elevator again and seeing his past self knowing he needs to be pruned for the loop to happen.

Yes! I was so surprised to see Ke.
I was way past being a kid when they remodeled McDonald’s with the big windows n such. So if that made you feel old, egads.
Ke Huy Quan was so good in this premiere.
OB must be protected at all costs.
@@foulrotI’ve been saying that about Ke Huy Quan since he played Short Round
One of the best opening Episode for a Marvel show so far. The Writing was amazing, and it's a great setup for the season! It's going to be a good one.
John... Loki made that crack when he crashed the flying vehicle on the window and the monitor fell... It was always there cause Loki changed the past.
To Quote a certain Madman in a Blue Box: "Time is more like a big ball of...wibbly wobbly, timey wimey....stuff."
I can’t believe I’ve followed you for two years now time flies. Love all of your videos and twitter! This show rocks so much already! 🤩🤩
Fun fact broxton Oklahoma was where Thor set up Asgard on earth in the comics

I love this! It would be so silly!
I think the action of pruning Loki with the temporal loom makes Loki a nexus being.
Our specific Loki was just pulled from every time line ...
😮
Loki and shield reactions. Rivals of agencies.
I love the sequence with O.B. It reminds me a lot of Ocarina of Time and the whole revisiting the same location in two different time periods to progress in the story.

That judge is Lyssa from game of thrones
I'm so excited for this show and nostalgia
Also just realized maybe it's because OB doesn't sleep
16:31 why was Loki not able to hold on to the pruning stick but was able to hold on to the red light/green light timer linked to the loom?
He probably let go of the stick right before he vanished....on his right hand..he was holding on to the timer.
This was a banger of a entry into the MCU show. I loved this.
Really good reaction to a very satisfying episode.
This show is the perfect blend of Doctor Who and Legion.
people keep forgetting the TVA is outside of time and space it's not directly affected by the branching timelines that's why when Loki talks to OB in the "past" it updates the "present"... like Back to the Future time travel.
This episode was so good....just everything about it! I am so hyped for the next episodes!!
Loki is the GREATEST Marvel series in the Multiverse!!
I personally like another show that he’s watching right now a little bit more, but Loki is my favorite of the D+ shows!
Let's go!!
I definitely think the whole timeline of this episode will be revealed. So it seems to me, based on the concept of Time-slipping,........ that Back to the Future was NOT a bunch of bullshit lol..... Anyway, i loved this episode a lot
It's a case of the TVA timeline only having one constant timeline, it cannot branch, so what you do in the past directly changes the future etc.
Keep in mind that TVA is located in the quantum realm, which conceptually works differently than our normal world.
If both Loki and Sylvie exist, then variant Lokis exist.
My favorite Marvel episode so far. Exciting, great chemistry and comedy, loved it! Plus they are definitely setting up the build towards the films already. Can't wait for next week!

theres other clips in the trailer of loki time slipping that we didnt see in ep 1 so the temporal aura extractor didnt work 😿
They said in the episode, the TVA exists in a time loop and it’s becoming destabilized, hence time existing within the TVA
