The reason Sylvie CAN'T enchant LOKI was explained in season 1.
Sylvie tried to enchant him, & Loki says, "You can't because my mind is too strong."
THAT'S why she can't just enchant him. It's also a 'rule' of the show to make sure the easy way will never work...
You can never let your characters 'do it the easy way', so to say. Without difficulties, where's the drama?!
      Hope that helps...

I have been ugly crying since I thought he was gonna have to kill Sylvie. I'm glad it didn't go that way. It hurt to hear from HWR that Loki still loses this time and will always lose, and to hear Loki say multiple times that his "whole life is a waste of time", because that was the fate he was trying to break away from. But it's not. "A Loki is a Loki because they survive." It's so beautiful but so bittersweet. They win and they survive, but "our" Loki is alone and in the big chair for making the tough choice. Just how Thor had to learn to sacrifice to earn Mjolnir, be the heir of Asgard, be the God of Thunder again...Loki had to sacrifice to be king, to have a throne, and to be God of Stories and keeper of the Multiverse. Wow.
Other parts that I found beautiful and sad that made me ugly cry in this ep:
    1. When Mobius told the story of the 8 yr old boy he couldn't prune. Maybe his sons were still part of his subconscious? Although it was never mentioned that he dreams of his boys, he did say he dreams of jetskis. There's a possibility that he dreams of his sons but forgets them immediately upon waking. And in the MCU, dreams are windows to the multiverse.
    2. When Loki's TVA suit disintegrates and he dons himself in his Asgardian garb. What a full circle. And although he grew large horns like a devil, he is becoming a good god that chooses to sacrifice everything he wants because the multiverse needs him to.
    3. When Loki grabs hold of the branches to use his power on them, it reminded me when he and Sylvie enchanted Alioth.
    4. New Rockstars Erik Voss breakdowns mentioned multiple times that HWR citadel design does look like Kintsugi - the japanese method of repairing potteries with gold to make them functional and beautiful again. Loki did the exact same thing with the multiverse. He repaired not only the "sacred" timeline but also allowed the multiverse to exist - therefore a more beautiful result. And this time, the Kintsugi is in his color, green, instead of gold.
    5. The Yggdrasil multiverse, to tie Loki back to his heritage. Now, whenever I'm gonna rewatch Thor 1 and listen to Thor explaining Yggdrasil (i know Yggdrasil forming the galaxy is different from Yggdrasil multiverse), I'm gonna be thinking that Loki is the one holding up an Yggdrasil together and Loki is watching Thor.
    6. Mobius retiring. Though I wish B-15 and he hugged haha
May I just take the time to say that I appreciate everyone involved in the creation of Loki S1 & S2. I would still be happy if S2 ended up in a complete tragedy for Loki's life as long as it's written beautifully. So hell yes I take this ending even if it is bittersweet. Even if this might be the last time we see Loki/Tom Hiddleston, I am just so happy at how beautiful this series has been, and how wonderful MCU's Loki's journey has been. I thought WandaVision and Loki S1 would guide the MCU quality after Endgame. Wanda's character story fell of the cliff, so thank God Loki has shown its quality. Thank you to everyone who fought for this quality to come forth, not just as part of the MCU, but as pure media in television.

      @xoooxzzzz5744 ปีที่แล้ว +4

I agree with everything you said. I was definitely breathing heavily, trying to hold myself together because I was watching it with family. Loki's smile before he walked outside to destroy the loom, I've never seen that particular smile from Loki before. It was special, it was probably the most genuine and raw smile of his I've ever seen. And I absolutely love how he walked out confidently. I instantly remember classic Loki and his demonstration of magic, of how he is more than he thinks he is if only he allows himself to be more, and he did, and he was so much more. His power unlocks in the most glorious way. It was unbearably difficult not to sob.
It's also really sad because they say Loki brings death and destruction to everyone around him wherever he goes, so he ended up alone, chose to be alone to spare everyone from that fate abd give them a fighting chance.
From reading the comics, the many wonderful Loki-centric fanfictions and some novels on the norse myth, I've seen so many works that suggest that Loki has a special bond with the Yggdrasil so imagine my surprise when it turns canon even though in this case it's a multiverse yggdrasil and not the galaxy one.
Also, your no.5, I'm pretty sure I'm going to do the same too. That last scene is stuck in my head.

Last episode...Loki asked, frightened and uncertain, "Where do I belong?"
Now he knows. And, hard as it is, I think he's satisfied with his proper place in the end. Nobody may be there with him, but he's not alone, and nobody is without him. With this...he's beyond even the Watchers. The only one past him, is One Above All.
I get the impression that if there's a season 3, it'll focus more on Sylvie. Even though she changed her name, she is still a Loki Variant. She might be his stand-in when it comes to actually going out into the multiverse to get work done.
Odds are, she may encounter other Loki variants as well, and since she has the Uber-Tempad, she can still go to the End of Time as you pointed out. So if there's a season 3, we'll still get some Tom, even if he's not specifically the center of the story anymore. And I think where things are now, there's plenty to do with the show that doesn't necessarily require him, to be worth watching. There are tons of stories they could tell now, if they want to.
    But, we'll see. I don't actually think there'll be a season 3...and that's ok. But I sure wouldn't mind one.

      There won't be a 3rd Season.
This isn't a Show made to last forever - the Producers intended it to be only 2 Seasons long, in order to tell a coherent story with an ending (and they not only did that, but they also essentially excelled anyone's expectations).
If Loki returns in the future, it's more than likely going to be in the Movies that deal with the Multiverse and Kang.

The intro music and imagery for this episode was like being inside a Pink Floyd album. Such a great suspenseful transition back into the madness at the TVA. I saw Loki taking He Who Remains' throne coming from the beginning of the episode (mostly thanks to the recap framing then confirmed by dialogue with Sylvie and Mobius) but the way he just walked out there and grabbed the dying timelines, then turned them green with life, and then pulled them together into Yggdrasil was so unexpected, mind blowing, and a beautiful resolution to the conflict in this series. Loki loses what he desires more than anything else - being with his new found family - but he wins the throne now that he's learned about friendship and love and is ready for this infinitely huge responsibility. I think this bittersweet ending suits Loki perfectly.

Fantastic finale, top to bottom, in every respect. Loki's time-slip loops (shout out to HWR and the fact that "See you soon" from the S1 finale got so eerily recontextualized), Loki's ascension, and the formation of the Multiversal Yggdrasil were all so phenomenally well done. And in terms of where Mobius ended up, I wouldn't be surprised if he's just finally taking a moment to relax and reflect ("letting time pass") after literal centuries of being a complete workaholic. That Loki can hear and watch over his friends, and that they remember what he did for them, is the main reason I'm not an emotional wreck right now lol. All of the Loki variants across space-time who just get to be themselves without fear owe our hero a massive debt.
Your reaction and analysis were on-point as usual, and don't short-change yourself, either; I don't think there was a major aspect, undertone, narrative beat, etc. that you missed or didn't pick up on. So even if the NR breakdown points out a couple of cool comic connections or what-have-you around the fringes, I doubt it'll feel like you need to completely reconfigure your perspective on how this played out. But like you said, it's all in good fun, and it keeps the conversation going. Cheers! What an incredible season. Man.

I think it’s both heartbreaking and beautiful that it wasn’t until after Loki decided and declared that “the last thing he wants is a throne,” that he finally got his throne. Not to mention episode 5 when he accepted the fact that he’s afraid and does not want to be alone. This ending was so somber and poetic.
    Here’s my question…
Do you think Loki can duplication cast himself onto timelines to visit people?
Can we also talk about how genius it is that the first episode of season 1 and the last episode of season 2 are both titled “Glorious Purpose”? What a beautiful ouroboros.

616 adjacent realm... everyone forgets he said "Adjacent Realm" meaning the main universe, but the "quantum Realm"... tying into ant man. But this sets up the tva moving forward. The tva now monitors the kang varients.
Another confusion people have about the variants and their lives on the timeline is that they dont understand how mobius is supposed to resume his life with his other self there. As explained in loki season 1 episode 1, when a variant is removed from the timeline, the timeline is reset. Therefore they lose their place and their personal timeline. They are essentially replaced. That timeline is pruned. They have to create new lives on the timeline, generally in a timeline where they dont exist or are dead.

I love that he takes a moment to get advice from Mobius, he talks it out with Sylvie, and then he does the sacrifice play for two versions of them that have no memory of either of those conversations. It also makes it super clear that the branches are dead unless he is holding on an actively powering it. Truly heartbreaking. Also, I wonder if the Council of Kangs congregate at the end of time, much like how the pruned Lokis survived the Void. If Kangs are getting pruned, they may all end up there, and figure out how to break out, just like Loki and Sylvie did.
