I also have the VQ Tante Ju, in Luftwaffe Splinter Pattern. I've noticed many of the same problems that you've highlighted. I do counter-rotate the center prop, to somewhat lessen the p-factor yaw. Another thing that I discovered that really helps to minimize the squirreliness of the ground handling is to keep the tailwheel planted until the speed gets higher. Then, when the tail comes up, it's easier to control with the rudder. My Ju-52 is also fast, flying a 4S-5AH pack and Propdrive 2835 motors. I've had problems, twice, with an elevator control horn failing when the speed was high and I cranked in a lot of elevator. I agree totally with your assessment of it's flying weaknesses, but I love flying it because it is so iconic of the Luftwaffe (I'm a big Luftwaffe warbird fan). Nice, fair review! Subscribed...

Thank you. I was looking at one of these for a 1st plane and I definitely will keep looking for something a bit easier to fly.

All the props are spinning the same direction. Make the ones on the wings spin opposite.

May I make a suggestion? If you install a eagletree stabilizer that plane will fly like it's on Rails. I've been using eagletree stabilizes for a number of years and I find it a best on the market easy to install easy to set up and you can make adjustments while in Flight as far as gains control concerned. I use eagletree on every single one of my planes

nice video, I remember my dad telling me stories about him piloting the real one back in the early 1940s. - to bad this great looking "Tante Ju" does not fly as good as it looks. All 3 motors spinning into the same direction certainly seems like a design flaw. Thanks for another entertaining and informative clip.
