I have this kit! I got it for christmas years ago and ended up finishing it in the "Where egales dare" winter paint scheme. Looks really good in my collection!
Kudos to you for the proper pronunciation of Junkers. Here in South Africa 🇿🇦 in the 1990's, we weekly had one of these flying over our home, which incidentally was built on a WWII Spitfire pilot training runway. Sometimes, also a DC3 Dakota radial flew over. Once, the RAF Red Arrows and they wiggled their wings at our house! That was in the late 1990's.
Love this kit and Love the JU52, many years ago While in RAF Germany I was on the outskirts of Monchengladbach, near its airport, when I heard an aircraft, over the trees appeared a JU52. it flew low over our heads. I spent a lifetime working on aircraft. but that was one of my best aircraft moments
I am building this one now and have not had any problems yet...It always amazes me to see how well you experts do such a great job at painting the aircraft as my airbrushing skills are not that great and to see you do the camo with no masking was jaw dropping..it looks beautiful. I am taking an airbrushing course at night school hobby class and it is helping...CHEERS FROM CANADA 😊
I found the engines and exhausts and wheel struts (landing gear a real challenge) cant figure out how you painted the engines and exhausts first then managed to get them glued into those tiny tiny holes? I super glued them first then painted and weathered where I could as the engine cowlings hide most of it..lol@@ModellingWeekly
Love the Ju 52 from a historical perspective....terrific subject matter as an iconic aircraft. Very enjoyable build, great job on the camo and informative commentary.
That turned out amazing! The JU-52 is in my top 10 WWII planes. I think it's the surface texture, general shape, and tri-motor layout. Very enjoyable to watch. Cheers
I had the same model when I was 14. The gaps and the bad overall fitting of the model drove me crazy, but I loved the rich details. For this build quality like in the video my hands are way too shaky now, especially when masking the canopy and windows, this precision is unreal.

I have an old release kit of this model. I keep taking it out and looking at it and putting it back. Maybe this time I may actually build it. Two suggestions: I usually paint and decal the instrument panel before assembling it. It makes things a bit easier. Second, Wingnut Wings is sadly, no more but on their website (still running at this time) they have an excellent process for doing wood texture painting. Nice build!
Nice build, thanks! You mentioned you might try spraying Molotow chrome. You want to buy a replacement/refill bottle and shake it before use. Spray wet coats without thinning (no need for black undercoat). Personally I think it’s amazing. Applying it with the pens can cause clumping, whereas airbrushing is consistently gorgeous.
