As for the rest of the guys who got mentioned, yeah, they're probably done. Most of them, frankly, it's simply age and the game passing them by. Guys like Jae, Boban, and almost everybody you mentioned at the end are in their mid-30s, and unless you're a star, you're not lasting once you hit that. Lonnie is a really nice guy. And naively is/was a Klutch client.
    The Spurs didn’t trade him. They made him a qualifying offer, but LW asked them to rescind it, and he immediately signed with the Lakers as a FA.
    Reading between the lines, it appears like LeBron and Klutch exploited his good nature, and then LeBron used him up and tossed him away when he was no longer of use.
    Lonnie hasn’t recovered since, and IMHO he’d probably still be a Spur with a solid role - if he’d had different representation back then.

      @@allks88 Yes. I AM hating on LeBron, and on Klutch, as they both clearly have a history of exploiting the vulnerable, and Lonnie was very vulnerable.
      He was safe under Pop’s wing, and in the Spurs development program. He wanted to come back - and let me repeat this - the Spurs had extended a QO for him to stay.
      So, why does Lonnie suddenly leave a sanctuary of protection, an organization that would protect him like no other, for an opportunity to make less money?
      And is it a coincidence that LeGM needed a shooter, but had zero resources to acquire one?
      Sure Lonnie’s inconsistent. He needs a support system and doesn’t have one. He lost that when he left SA. Makes you wonder what kind of smoke and mirrors it took to lure him.
      Worst part is, San Antonio won’t take him back, because they’re big on loyalty. And Lonnie - mysteriously and uncharacteristically - wasn’t, for one brief moment.
      Seems pretty obvious to me that somebody got to him. Three guesses who - but I only need two.

  • @doronrosstuvia3489
    @doronrosstuvia3489 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

    The biggest issue with this is that the league prioritizes potential and athleticism over proven skill. That only makes the league more inexperienced and less skilled. You wonder why there is such a huge gap between roleplayers and superstars, it’s because once a roleplayer is too skilled, the league cant afford them because theyre paying stars. A good example are guys like Guershon Yabusele and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson. Both players were given up on because they arent young, but became great overseas. Now Guershon was only able to get back because he dunked on LeBron in the Olympics. There are many great players that may not be as great as the top superstars, but can definitely contribute in huge ways. The fact that Marcus Morris and Jae Crowder aren’t signed is ridiculous. Morris is still a big time scorer and Crowder is still a tough match-up. Skill is losing out because the league is about entertainment, not about putting the best quality team on the court.
    What sucks is that the expansion teams won’t come for another few years and all those players that could be contributors right now, might not have the ability to remain contributors without some sort of way to play basketball at a high level consistently.

    imho, for most of them euroleague is the best choice for their career. go there, play more minutes and with a bigger role instaed of being the 12th guy in team rotation. some who did that like exum or yabusele are back in the league now. that being said i get that not everyone wants to play overseas

    Fultz isn't bad from the free-throw line, he's literally near the average. His 3-point show is nowhere to be seen though and without that he doesn't have enough to stay in the NBA.

      75% is not very good for your point guard (Luka also sucks from FT line but hits crazy shots from elsewhere.) Fultz needed to stay healthy as he can drive, pass and defend. He sees the court well ... I liked him in Orlando but just never healthy.
