I have a testimonial to the book of Mormon it's self. The "17 Points of the true church” of Jesus Christ that I heard about that started me on this whole Bible study project Explanation: Shortly after joining the church, the missionaries we had over for dinner one night noticed that I was taking notes of Bible scriptures that backed up LDS doctrine. They told me about a tape that I could get of a talk called “17 points of the true church”. “17? Wow, there are 17 scriptures in the Bible that prove the church correct? Neat!” But rather than drive the 50 miles to the Seattle Temple (which has a church book store next to it) from Whidbey Island, I just decided to find them on my own. This document, which I have nicknamed “The 17 Hundred Points of the True Church”, is the result of my tearing apart the Bible in an effort to find the buried treasure - the 17 points the missionaries had told me about (but by the Lord’s wisdom, had not actually given me). Neat how things work, isn’t it? Below are the original 17 points that come on the little card with the cassette tape I bought at Deseret Books, which is from the accompanying tape of the wonderful testimony of Mr. Floyd Weston. 1. Christ organized the Church - Ephesians 4:11-14 2. The true church must bear the name of Jesus Christ - Ephesians 5:23, Colossians 1:18 3. The true church must have a foundation of apostles and prophets - Ephesians 2:19-20, 1 Cor. 12:28 4. The true church must have the same organization as Christ's Church - Ephesians 4:11-14 5. The true church must claim divine authority - Hebrews 5:4-10 6. The true church must have no paid ministry - Isaiah 45:13, 1 Peter 5:2 7. The true church must baptize by full immersion - Matthew 3:13-16 8. The true church must bestow the gift of the Holy Spirit by the laying on of hands - Acts 8:14-17 9. The true church must practice genuine divine healing - Mark 3:14-15 10. The true church must teach that God and Jesus are separate individuals - Heb. 1:3, Acts 7:55-56, John 17:11 & 20:17 11. The true church must teach that God and Jesus have bodies of flesh and bone - Luke 24:36-51, Acts 1:9-11 12. The officers of the true church must be called by God, not taken upon by themselves - Hebrews 5:4, Exodus 40:13-16 13. The true church must claim revelation from God - Amos 3:7 14. The true church must be a missionary church - Matthew 28:19-20 15. The true church must be a restored church (previously removed, then re-instated) - Acts 3:19-20 16. In the July/August 2018 edition of "Biblical Archaeology Review" on page 33, is an article "Egyptian Papyrus Sheds New Light on Jewish History." The author is Karel van der Toorn. The article is about a papyrus roll discovered in the late 19th century at Luxor (ancient Thebes). It took more than 120 years to decipher the text. It was discovered that Egyptian Demotic script had been used to write Aramaic text! The translation turned out to be three Israelite psalms written about 400BC. This is an example of "Reformed Egyptian" used by Israelites and discovered by non-Mormons!!
Hi! I am currently binging your missionary playlist and it is SOOO helpful! I am serving Spanish speaking in the North Carolina Charlotte mission and start at the Mexico MTC next month. I am having a lot of trouble figuring out my books!! Here are my questions: Should I bring an english PMG? If so, small or regular size? Will the MTC give me one in Spanish too? Will the MTC give me a Spanish quad, or do I need to buy one now? I already have personal English scriptures, so I am trying to figure out if I should buy a new English set, a new Spanish set, or both? And advice on sizes again would be great. Thank you for any help you can give me!!
Hey! So happy to hear you're finding my videos useful all these years later! 😊 so here's my answers: Yes bring a small English PMG. I had both Spanish and English small versions and used them both.
Also don't depend on the MTC for giving you materials because I've learned it's very inconsistent across all MTC's. I took my English scriptures I'd had my whole life and I used them every once in a while to reference during study but also consider the fact you might have a phone. Idk about your mission (I didn't have internet access on my mission phone) you can access your English scriptures via your phone probably. Also take into account if you're walking or can drive. I had to walk my whole mission so I didn't want to haul around a quad or even my separate Bible. I just took my medoum size triple combo. I do recommend not getting the smallest scriptures in whatever combo (quad or triple) you decide on, just because it's difficult for investigators to read the tiny font. I did my daily studies from my one Spanish mission scriptures set and that's what I carried with me and taught with. With all that said consider the possibilities of your mission phone and the fact that you will probably being interacting with people in both English and Spanish and considering which language you'll use more 👍🏻 hopefully this helps
Ernest Marcucella i think for your very first read, it’s a lot better to read it in order(front to back) and then next time when you read it the second time you can read whatever order you want(follow Preach my gospel passages or come follow me manuals) it’s also fun to randomly open the scriptures and read whatever is in the page and relate it to what you are going through at the moment.
The gospel of Jesus Christ is that we were created in God's image, and even while we were sinners He sent His son Jesus Christ to die to for our sins so that we would be reconciled back to God. That we are saved by grace through faith and not of works of our own. I pray that the Holy Spirit would open your eyes to the true gospel of Jesus Christ.

Kyla ok so they do give you scriptures in the MTC but they are the bulkiest paperback set I’ve ever seen lol so you can use those but they just can’t hold up since they’re paperback and they will take up so much room in your bag
