I talk about you two to everyone I meet! ❤ my health has never been better until I found and utilized both the knowledge and you have made available and put in your books!❤ love you both for the wonderful work you do!
I am very happy to see you both ❤ Now, my guardian women together in one legacy for women empowerment and good health ! I am so blest to know you both on line. God bless you both 😇🥰❤️🌸🥳✨
I am so happy to see Mindy and Jessie together... It was about time. I'm all about Fast Like a Girl; the more I followed Mindy's advice and learned about foods, the more I became concerned about my kids who are too young to fast, not into broths, raw kefir, bitter greens, etc. Jessie's research helped me make changes to meal planning at home for those with a more sensitive palate. In my humble opinion, both areas of research are complimentary and make total sense. Thank you both!
This is so informative and wise. It’s the second time that I watched it and I plan to continue watching it every other month. Just to remember what I need to do to stay healthy and at my best.
Just sitting down to breakfast when I saw this in my feed. I thought “oh, this will be interesting “. Turns out I made a great breakfast! By accident though rather than by design, so lots of good things to learn and implement here. What a fun experiential learning moment. 😂 Thanks to you both for making this information so accessible. ❤
More! I want to hear this lady speak more. Love her personality. I’d like to see you guys in a kitchen together cooking up and presenting breakfast ideas that I can use to change the patterns my family has been taught about what breakfast should look like. I fast like a girl and it’s changed my life… gotta get others on board here.
🤔 I need to know exactly what I can have without breaking my fast. I take a few vitamins, but they are fish oil so is it the amount of calories? What if I split up taking my vitamins and having something with creamer an hour or so later? What about exercising between small amounts of calories? Is it what you eat? Can I have tea or coffee, does the caffeine do anything? What about a little creamer, dairy, non-dairy, nut juice 🌰 like cashew milk ?
Interesting 🤔 conversation BUT eating a veggie before a meal is nit what Dr Mindy Pelz teaches! Because when we fast we should break the fast with fat...if I break my fast with a broccoli 🥦 I would be bloated and feel terrible @Dr Mindy what are your thoughts upon that please? Thank you 🙏🙋♀️

She has no problem contradicting herself. Or platforming other hacks who are desperately trying to cash in on middle-aged women’s anxieties. When a physician is selling something that only they have a magic answer to because they can see through the matrix and no one else can? It is on consumers if they don’t take that with a grain of literal and figurative salt.
Dr Mindy, I had to wait a little longer here in the UK for you book 'Eat Like a Girl', but it arrived this week, and although I've already read Fast Like a Girl and watched plenty of your videos, and am following the fasting lfe style, this book is AMAZING!! I'm already half way through reading it and have tried some of the recipes too. Thank you so much for all your knowledge, it's really not an understatment to say my life and outlook on food and health has drastically changed since coming across Fast Like a Girl and living this lifestyle. Blessings.
I wanted to post a comment but am unable to unless it's a reply. Sorry for highjacking your comment!! I absolutely love this co-lab!!! I enjoy both of your ladies content!! ❤
The animal eats with it's stomach, man eats with his brain 🧠 🤯 I hear you both really not loving oatmeal for breakfast. Does that include whole-grain oats not the instant sugary oatmeal?
Hi @reilleyb The answer depends on the individual. Here's a resource to learn what breaks a fast: th-cam.com/video/ykSNSRE_teE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=emuePMNAZ36oASMb 💙 Dr Mindy's Team
Hi Dr Mindy. I just turned 40 but I haven't started peri menopause as yet. Can I do OMAD every day. Im asking as when I do this type of fast, I feel really good and energized.
Hi there, Dr. Mindy teaches variation so that a woman does not wreck her hormones. However, the choice is yours. 💙Dr. Mindy's Team Have you seen this teaching video? th-cam.com/video/U1RKe8iweV4/w-d-xo.html
I discovered IF probably mid-40's & gradually went to OMAD, even through peri-menopause, even eating not the greatest foods, it was great! Into menopause, it's a different game - good for you learning about all this now! 👏👏👏
Really interesting discussion, thank you! I have a question about fasting. I'll be defending my doctoral thesis next month. Lately, I've been experimenting fasting and I LOVE how my focus is sharper (I have lots of ADHD traits) and my mind is clear after 36h of fasting. Here's my problem though: my oral defense will be on day 25 of my cycle, so in the nurture phase. I would love to be able to fast before the defense - my stress level will be up the roof anyway. But I don't know what would be best. To fast or not to fast? Thank you for any advice you can provide! And thank you for sharing so much with your community of followers! It's a life changing experience. ❤
I wouldn't recommend you to fast. Your cortisol and blood sugar will be higher then anyway and you will be less stress-resistant, so putting even more stress onto your body could produce a result that you don't want. Rather, try relaxing the day before and do some self love, like taking care well of yourself with a mask, bath etc. to put yourself in a calm state before defending. And then use this calm power to throw them out of their socks. :-)
Isnt it still a bit like a slippery slope: ...it is all fine, just eat the crap (over processed food) after real quality food? Why do we still need or want to eat bad too sweet food and support producers of such food?
I guess because most people fail at super restrictive eating. If you remove everything, they decide it’s not for them. If you allow a cheat, they often will still see the benefits of the overall change and soon decide they don’t really need the sweet thing anymore. Dopamine is one hell of a drug made by our brain and we are addicted to it after lifetimes of allowing ourselves to eat whatever we want.
First of all Oats might be or are most likely full of Roundup / Glyphosate if you are not using some certified BIO. But can you trust even them? Second thing is a Gluten. Gluten makes inflamations to the body even if you dont have problems with Gluten...So pick up a Gluten freen. Also Glycemic Index is questionable.....and Glycemic Load. Non starchy vegetables has much lower GI. Oats are full of carbs - basically the first thing you avoid in the morning. Many ppl are also putting in the "overnight" oats some fruits, honey, etc = simple sugars...
Is there a full episode of this or this it? I couldn't wait for the two of you to come on because Jessie is not the biggest fan of the way we fast so I wanted to see how this would play out. ... 😅
I do this with my boys but their dad is still stuck in his way of thinking. I buy donuts in the evening and my boys have it for desert, but their dad gives them cereal, donuts, pancakes, etc for breakfast all the time and it really infuriates me, because I have one child who’s overweight because of that. So I’m seen as the “mean” mom when it comes to eating.
@theteanappergaming its not necessarily that you're more mature, it's just that you may have a better understanding of some things. You don't know everything and won't accept everything even if it's right or make sense. It doesn't mean that you're less mature, it's just not your time to understand.
I have been fasting for a while now, but my glucose levels won't come down. My doctor tells me that I need to eat breakfast because skipping it makes my levels go higher.
Does consuming 30 spirulina or chlorophyll Energy Bits, tablets before your meal (to break your fast and/or to count as a plate of greens before meals ) count?
@@DrMindyPelz Thank you! but I was referring more to whether it would be equivalent to having a "plate of greens" before your meals to support the glucose spike post-meal. (the protocol that was just shared )
Why is it every time I’m watching a video on how to eat healthier they have to show pictures of donuts and cakes and sweets that we’re not supposed to eat. Just looking at the video makes me want to eat it.
I am Catholic and thanks for blocking out the curse words. I love listening to Jessie but I can't listen to her all the time because of the fowl language.
You can vary it. Bone broth is still #1 to break a longer fast (24+ hours) especially after a 3 day water fast. I would do the veggies, savory break fast on days when your period is finished and your body naturally wants more carbs. Earth’s natural carbs.
The way I understand is that she said to eat your vegetables at the beginning of your meal. The fiber will coat your stomach and reduce the blood sugar spike.

Strangely, nobody ever talks about moringa oleifera, which studies have proven to reduce blood sugar spikes.
For many years, we have used food as entertainment for our mouths. 😂😂😂
Does consuming 30 spirulina or chlorophyll Energy Bits, tablets before your meal (to break your fast and/or to count as a plate of greens before meals ) count?
It shouldn't break your fast, but you can test your glucose to be sure. It would not be the fiber you are seeing before your meal.
