For seeds: I grind equal amounts of flax, chia, and pumpkin seeds in a spice grinder until they’re very finely ground. Place them in a dark colored container to protect from light, and store in the freezer. I sprinkle a teaspoon on just about everything.

0:25: There are five foods that can help balance hormones.
1:02: Estrogen and progesterone have different food preferences.
1:40: Estrogen benefits from a keto biotic diet, while progesterone benefits from hormone feasting foods.
4:49: Bitter foods support liver and gut health, aiding in the breakdown of hormones.
5:10: During ovulation, it is beneficial to consume bitter foods to support hormone balance.
6:22: Seeds can help with different hormones and their consumption may be controversial.
9:18: Eating root vegetables like sweet potatoes and squashes can increase progesterone levels.
10:32: Including meat, specifically grass-fed steak, in the diet provides essential amino acids for hormone production.

Did you know that one cause of eczema is systemic inflammation?
If you can find out what is triggering your body to inflame you will be half way to the win.
It may be a food sensitivity?

Squash is NOT a root vegetable. Root "vegetables" are just that, they are roots ie. carrots, radishes, onions, garlic, parsnips, sweet potatoes and yams are root vegetables. Squash comes from a flower on a plant above ground, it is a fruit, not a root.

Roasted veggie and meat balls bowl!
Japanese, purple or regular sweet potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, or brussel sprouts, carrots or zucchini, drizzled in a generous amount of EVOO, tossed with some coriander, cumin, fresh garlic, and salt, spread on baking sheet and cook at 425 F for 45 mins.
    For the meatballs:
Grass fed ground beef, pinch of each of the following spices: cumin, coriander, garlic, sage, paprika, mustard, onion + garlic granules, turmeric, ginger, chipotle, then a few generous pinches salt, roll into small balls, about 1 oz each, put in cast iron pan and put in oven for last 10 mins while veggies are still roasting. Take everything out, and serve with labneh, avocado, and of course a drizzle of the fat that collected at the bottom of the pan with the meatballs, sprinkle some salt, pepper and fresh herbs and ENJOY!! Hope someone is able to make this, I cook intuitively so measurements aren’t available.

Five food you must have and Why:
    1. Avocado~ support the making of estrogen
    2. Bitter foods - lemon, ginger, dandelion ~support, good gut health and liver ~ helps when you’re having hot flashes to do this
    3. Flax seed/Pumpkin seed -flax seed~ helps the breakdown and support of estrogen, flax seed on salads, pumpkin seed~ helps the breakdown and support of progesterone
    4. Root vegetables - sweet potatoes “Golden/White/Purple ~ all feed different parts of UR Microbiome/reg potatoes/ carrots, radishes, onions, garlic, parsnip/ all squash “ this is considered a fruit, however it too” ~ support progesterone
    5. Meat - steak/poultry - specifically grass fed steak~ has all the amino acids that you need in order to make hormones/hormones have a fuel requirement, and one of those is amino acids poultry- chicken/turkey~ has tryptophan, which is a amino acid that helps you make serotonin - which makes us happy.
For seeds: grind equal amounts of flax, Chia, and pumpkin seeds in a spice grinder until they’re very finally grounded. Place them in a dark colored container to protect from light, and store in the freezer. Sprinkle a teaspoon on just about everything.

If you have a dehydrator, it's so easy to make flaxseed crackers! You can use ground seeds or whole seeds. I use my Pyrex glass measuring cup to pour in the whole or ground seeds until they reach the 1 cup mark. Then I add filtered water until the water and seeds reach the 2 cup mark. Use a fork to tap down the floating seeds until they are all submerged. Then cover and leave this to sit for 2 hours or so. You will find that the seeds have absorbed all of the water and you have a mucilaginous mixture, meaning the seeds now form a batter-like substance that can be spread like icing onto a silicone sheet. Don't forget to add seasonings to taste--whatever you like! You can make them sweet or savory. I like Everything But the Bagel Seasoning. Mix a good amount in, tasting as you go. Next, spread using a spatula to spread onto a silicone baking sheet and then put in your dehydrator. Since I like for my crackers to be considered raw, I dehydrate for 24 hours at 105 degrees, flipping them over at around 12 hours into the time. I suppose if you don't mind if they're "cooked", you can experiment with higher temperatures to yield faster times. That's it! Once they're done, break them into smaller pieces and enjoy with your avocado, cheese, nut butter, hummus, or whatever!

Just got your book "Fast Like A Girl" and can't wait to get on this journey! I got to Page 10 yesterday and had to text my friend who's also interested in fasting - I was blown away! You taught me more about nutrition by page 10 than I've been able to learn from any of the nutricionists I've been seeing throughout my life - it's actually sad.. I've been overweight since childhood and on every kind of diet you can think of since age 5.. leading up to gastric bypass surgery at the age of 20 which helped me reduce my weight from 135 to 75kg.. 15 years later at 35 years old I'm back at 102kg. I started gaining weight more rapidly since I started seeing nutritionists again, since they were telling me I was eating too little. Instead I was told to eat more and at the same time got hunger suppressing hormones.. medicals seem to have no clue about what to actually do about obesety that's going to be sustainable.. you've been the first one to ACTUALLY give me some real hope on the issue on getting healthy in ages! ❤

So glad you have grass fed steak on your list.Yes, helps all three hormones. I was once vegetarian for a year and became severely anemic, and even after I went back to a healthy diet including chicken and very little red meat, I continued to be anemic, and ended up with many more issues including thyroid, arthritis, cancer, etc. I am now 77 and have had two knee replacements, breast cancer, and 3 months ago a hip replacement. I have been low-carb keto for over a year, gluten free for 14 years, and recently a month ago went carnivore. I know it sounds crazy! I thought it sounded insane and immoral, until I started reading about all of the things people had healed from eating an all animal food diet. I have already seen improvements! And just finished being on your 72 hour fast and now gently coming off of the fast. I had zero problems on the water fast. It was the first one over 24 hours, so I had no idea how I would do. Bravo, Frankie! Thank you for sharing! :) What many non-vegan health professionals miss is emotional, spiritual and environmental health. The meat carries negative energy from the animals being mistreated and disrespected. Also the industry and one's unconscious choice of eating cow meat, chickens, fish and so on. Being conscious and proactive about supporting these billions of these BEINGS' rights is uplifting one's spiritual and emotional health. Veganism, especially with local vegan food, is better for nature and doesn't create the issue of extra carbon footprint.
So many studies have proven that vegans, especially those having healthy food, are generally healthier and have lower risk to serious diseases. This is the bigger picture, including spiritual health and sustainability. I love the work of Dr Sat Dharam Kaur and The Complete Natural Guide to Women's Health!
Seaweed, seeds, nuts contain good amount of tryptophan. Probably the vegan supplement is helpful. If you don't know the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh and Plum Village, you may resonate with the 5 mindfulness trainings and Engaged Buddhism. Sending love and blessing! :)

A Ghanaian dish is boiling and mashing garden eggs and mixing it with a good fat: palm oil(the one ethically sourced and unrefined). They add tomato and aromatics. They eat this with African yam a root vegetable. So this dish is great for womens' hormones.

Granted I haven’t helped the situation much, as I retired two years ago and have been living a vacation lifestyle, eating and drinking whatever I wanted. Prior to retirement (Pre-Menopausal) I lived a keto lifestyle and kept my weight and health in check. For the last year I have been going through menopause with hot flashes, mood swings and night sweats. About six months ago everything (hot flashes, mood swings and night sweats) subsided, then three months ago they all came back. Today (June 20, 2023) I stumble onto your channel and thank god! Recently, I have returned to my keto lifestyle but the scale hasn’t budged and equally important the night sweats are miserable. I had been following your videos for the last two and a half 3 weeks for intermittent fasting. I have finally lost these stubborn 4 lb that I couldn't lose for the last 10 months. I work out 3 to 5 days a week and still couldn't lose the weight with eating what I thought was healthy lol. You are an angel I truly appreciate Your videos you're trying to save the world one bite at a time I love it!!

Beet salat: dont cook beet root, take 2-3 beets in raw and peel them first. Then cut them not too big and cut red onion in very thin layers into it. In the end put any oil you love in a salad and a bit of salt AND coconut sugar until it tastes like HEAVEN. Also recommendable to leave it over night in the fridge (but isnt a must have).

I crushed the size of a thumb: ginger, turmeric, curcuma, lemongrass, a litle black pepper, optional: aromatic ginger (kencur) & galangal. (Curcuma is optional too but good in reducing uric acid). Heat in a pan with plenty of water until it boils. Turn off the stove. Wait until it's not too hot. Pour into a tea cup (you can heat the rest to drink later), add a splash of lemon and a tablespoon of honey.

Eat enough calories on plant foods, and you naturally get enough protein. Plant foods high in tryptophan include: quinoa, soy, buckwheat groats, leafy greens, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, watercress, mushrooms, broccoli, and peas.

In an interview recently your recommendation for post and sleeping was to add a carb before bed. Well, here's the interesting thing, I'm 12 yrs post, 64.5, my hormones are naturally balanced fairly well, I've been eating carnivore for 5 months to heal SIBO. SIBO seems to be handling the reintroduction of high FODMAP foods. I started adding the carb (last night broccoli and garlic) a few hrs before bed breaking my 18hr IF...sleep is more important, and the strangest thing happened, it actually kicked me into ketosis! I haven't been able to get a meter reading above .2 for months. I'm not kidding, I'm waking up in ketosis and going to bed in ketosis and sleeping a bit better. Still could use more help with the non-cycling pulsing of foods, etc. Love ya Mindy! You and your team are awesome! 🎉❤

Mindy. I listened to your INCREDIBLE talk with Stephen from Diary of a CEO a couple of days ago and I think you just saved me in time. I am 52, I had a full hysterectomy at 39 for medical reasons. I've always been slim and super active but because of now being mostly bed bound (neuro disease) I have put on over 25 kilos. I have been trying to lose this weight for 2 years now, without success. I eat extremely well. I am on Ozempic (8 weeks now) and was horrified when you said that Ozempic makes you lose more muscle than fat!!!! If I do some serious resistance work every day instead of trying to do the little amount of cardio I'm able to, will that combat this issue? Anyway, thank you once again for everything you do for us girls. Sending much love and gratitude from Australia x

Hi Dr Mindy, I would like to share a couple of useful tips. One, pumpkin seeds actually increase estrogen. Personally I have observed this on mysellf and my sisters in law. Like periods get heavy when flaxseeds ir oumpkin seeds, avacados are consumed. All of us are peri and menopausal stage.
Next what works like magic to increase low progesterone levels, or when periods grt heavy due to excess estrogen is a food that is both bitter and astringent. Its the humble banana blossom bMany traditional recipes are available on the net from most tropical communities.

Best bread: flax seeds, water, baking soda, salt. Bake at 400 degrees for 40 minutes. Golden flax seeds make it pretty, substituting part of the flax with lupini flakes increases the protein. Top with avocado.

    • @shaynaformity1384
      @shaynaformity1384 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@susann1192 1 3/4 cups fine flax meal (if your meal is coarse, grind it in a high powered blender or food processor to make it fine), 3/4 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp salt (optional), 1 cup water. If using metal or glass baking sheet or loaf pan, line it with parchment paper to prevent the bread from sticking. If making baguettes or rounds, slice the tops with a wet knife before baking. A knife inserted into the bread way before it's done will come out clean, so don't use that testing method! :-) The bread will still be delicious and edible, but more the consistency of gooey brownies. I got impatient one day...But if you cook it the whole time, it'll rise a little bit and get crusty on the outside and perfect bread-like bread on the inside.
