    Great video. Can you do a follow up on using EXO v4 on top of CSL? For how easy CSL, I find EXO really difficult to use because of how smeary it is and how difficult residue removal is.

    • @DetailedImage
      @DetailedImage  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Tonmoy, EXO can at times depending on temperature be a bit finicky. I would have additional microfiber towels on hand for removal. Also, applying in a smaller section might help troubleshoot a streaking issue. Let me know how it goes.

    Great video, I’m about to purchase the Crystal Serum Light. How long after the application of Crystal Serum Light do you apply the C2V3. Thank you.

    • @DetailedImage
      @DetailedImage  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Howard- after CSL has been applied to the paint, you can then apply C2V3 as a top coat right way

    can you put this stuff on headlights as well?

    • @DetailedImage
      @DetailedImage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      CSL will work great on hard coated plastics like headlights, taillights, and trim. However, for the most durable protection on these areas we recommend a trim specific coating like the Gtechniq C4.

    Hello DI! Are the towels to be thrown away after use and if so, is that typical for all these types of coatings from different brands? Thanks!

    • @DetailedImage
      @DetailedImage  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I personally throw all coating removal towels away after an installation. The residue left in the microfiber towels will crystalize and if used on paint can scratch the finish. However- I typically like to sink those same towels in APC followed by a normal washer cycle to allow them to be used for general purpose detailing tasks like, jams, wheels and engines.

    Can this coating be applied to a gel coat? Can it also be applied to plastic trim?

    • @DetailedImage
      @DetailedImage  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can apply this to gel coat. For plastic trim, you want to make sure the trim is coated and not plastic. Areas like headlights, taillights, and window pillars are great options for application. If the areas are textured plastics or rubber, you will want to use a trim specific coating like the Gtechniq C4.

    Can CSL be used to coat glass and trim??

    • @mikemccrary5080

      I’d like to know too?

    • @DetailedImage
      @DetailedImage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      CSL can be used on glass, rims, and hard coated trim pieces. I would advise on using a glass specific coating on your windshield to avoid wiper chatter and for more durability. If you are looking to coat rubber or textured trim, use a trim specific coating for better durability as well.

    RE: Panel wipe: do I use this full strength or some say 50/50?

    • @DetailedImage
      @DetailedImage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For best results we recommend using Panel Wipe at full strength. Check out this video here for info on Panel Wipe (th-cam.com/video/-gh0R5UBkBc/w-d-xo.html)

    what's the "coverage" of a 50ml bottle? can you do a full medium size car with 50ml of solution?

    • @DetailedImage
      @DetailedImage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As long as you apply nice and thin, a 50ml bottle is great for 1-2 applications on larger vehicles or one coat on two vehicles.

    Is the applicator reusable? Also should we discard the microfiber cloths or can they be washed and used safely?

    • @nanditasethi7275
      @nanditasethi7275 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      no applicator can't be used again bcos after the application of ceramic , it gets hard with the time

    • @DetailedImage
      @DetailedImage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nandita is correct. Sio2 can harden applicators, so it is best to toss them after your coating application.

    I bought the product, followed the instructions to the fullest and it left trails of wipe marks. I used 3 towels to wipe off and left the car in the garage. How do you get the product off.

    • @gregsullivan7408
      @gregsullivan7408 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I suspect you'll have to polish it off. (by that, I mean an abrasive polish), but I'm not certain. By the way, I learnt a great trick for finding high spots (wipe marks) during application - use a panel light that has a perfectly even light across it's surface, and look at the REFLECTION of that light against the paint. You are looking for areas that are slightly dark. If you see any, buff until they disappear. Using an inspection torch like this guy does in this video simply doesn't work AT ALL for me, at least when applying Cquartz Lite. I'm about to try CSL.
      Re the panel light, it doesn't have to be bright, but it must be very uniform. I'm actually using a tablet computer, set to display a white screen. I tried a video panel light, but it didn't work nearly as well, because the LED array is too coarse - each LED can be individually distinguished, despite the fact the array is covered by a diffuser.

    Is this better than the Adam's one has anyone tried both?

    • @DetailedImage
      @DetailedImage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the coating itself. If you are referring to the Adam's UV Ceramic Paint Coating, if has a similar durability to the Gtechniq CSL. From there it all depends on application characteristics and looks. I have not used the Adam's coating, but both Adam's and Gtechniq are high quality brands so try out both and use what you personally like better.

    On average how many section do you do on a hood or door
    And what temperature do you recommend to apply ?

    • @DetailedImage
      @DetailedImage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You want to apply as close to room temperature as you can (i.e. 65 degrees F). I tend to split the hood into 4 areas, but that could change based on the curves of the vehicle and what you feel comfortable coating at once.
