If I would live in england I would bring to you my car to coat it and them I will apply to work for you because of your precission and calmity! Congratulations to you and your staff!
I'm working in a difficult environment - a very dark garage with no power or overhead lighting. Something that seems to show high spots pretty well is to look at the REFLECTION of a low intensity, diffuse, light. I learnt this from another detailer's channel - Car Craft Auto Detailing. Since we are looking at the reflection, it makes sense to use a large light. The best light source I have at the moment is my 10” tablet, displaying a white screen. I am using Cquartz Lite to begin with, just to see whether a coating provides any substantial benefit, as a chauffeur with a black car, that I wash exclusively using the waterless wash method. Great video - thanks!
Dude you guys have it down Super impressed with your process Biggest take away is the applicators You make into the little strips Love this Using it now ! Thanks
I'd be really concerned about the fibres generated from the cut edge of the Kirkland cloths? Is this still the method you use or have you updated it? Great video by the way and very impressive workshop.
I buy the foam round pads covered in normal move fibre to apply TAC moonlight. It's fast to apply, you can see where you've gone as oil based and easy to wipe off. Also works really well on trim plastics with a restorative effect. It's my new 'wax'. I can top it up without worrying but decent panel prep of course helps. It lasts 6-9 months I reckon and can be topped with gyeon wet coat well. As a hobby I actually like topping up my cars though can see the appeal of mega long lasting pro applied nano costings
Is it just me... or do the panels that they are covering with the Crystal Serum Ultra - look less clear/less glossy after the coating is applied and wiped off...?
We were told by Gtechniq you only need to wait 1 hour to apply Exo over Ultra, I dont know if that's because I'm in Australia were the weather it different or not, also we dont apply exo twice only the once, which again i dont know why??
Hi, great video thank you for this! Could you let me know what microfibres you use please and when you wash them, do you use a particular detergent or just domestic washing detergent at a low dose
Kirkland yellow cloths, you can get them from Costco, Amazon... Just wash with normal washing detergent. No added softener. We consider cloths relatively disposable - the plushest, most expensive cloths in the world are no use once they've got a tiny bit of junk stuck in them that puts swirls back in your freshly polished paint. Better to have lots of fresh/new 'good' ones. And these are perfectly good enough.
Wash and re-use, but we grade them as they get older and grubbier. Once a car has been fully corrected it's nothing but completely brand new cloths (on the paintwork) from then on. Good cloths used during correction. OK cloths used during washing, decon, and for shuts etc. Bad cloths for cleaning the workshop. Gritty cloths in a black sack for mopping up the floor or oil, then thrown out. I should add that an OK or bad cloth is still 'clean from the washing machine' but we check each one as they're put away and if there's any stains or the fibres are starting to matt together etc, they get graded accordingly.
Thanks for a great video! I've been debating which ceramic treatments would be worth attempting at home and you've certainly showed me why it's worth going to a pro when it comes to a high end treatment! For me, I am looking to protect non-sports cars just from the dirt, grime, and salt we get in NY winters. Any suggestions? Was looking at Gyeon Syncro but there are so many options out there!
Great informative video! I do have a question though. What do you charge for that service? You said 50+ hours have gone into it, so I'm just curious as to what the price tag is.
No problem, our prices are listed on our website. This combined detail and Gtechniq coating package on a typical medium sized car is £1,160 + VAT all together.
@@KDSKeltecTV Sir I know this is an old comment but I think you need to charge more. I'm not suggesting I know more than you, quite the opposite, I'm amazed by your work. This is ammo nyc levels of detail. Incredible
You’re putting way too much thought into this. Nothing wrong with using the thin cloths on the pad as long as you wipe right before application. Unless you’re doing this in a clean room it’s pointless. You’re moving the dirt around just as much with the microfiber as you would with the thin cloth.
I think it's to make sure he's using the clean side to wipe with. If he can smell product then it's a side that's been used already and could cause streaking of possibly damage
I paid decent money a few years ago watching a reputable detailer do my car in his driveway out in the open !! 😏 What a bloody idiot I was!! Not professionally done that’s for sure

Been doing that since the early days of coating application, what made sense then has become common sense today.

gonna try the cut up towel technique! Great idea! Nice videos folks...

Well detailed explanation
The guys look real professional
Thank you for this video 😁

Brilliant stuff guys, thanks for sharing , some invaluable information here!
Cheers, Saad
Thanks for the comment, next video on its way :)
Excellent job!!
So you don't apply CSU to glass, what kind of coating can you apply on glass?
Is it just me... or do the panels that they are covering with the Crystal Serum Ultra - look less clear/less glossy after the coating is applied and wiped off...?
I have noticed this with Ceramic Pro 9H, and Expel Fusion Plus, upon removal.
Seems to clear up after curing.
How does installation of cs ultra differ to csl? How long do you let cs ultra sit for before wiping off?
Another great vid! Keep them coming. Would love to work there.
Thank you :)
with this coating are you supposed to buff of pretty much staright away ? no need to wait for it to flash?

I bought only 30mL for my large-ish coupe. If I use MF towels like these guys suggest, will I have enough?
Great video👌
Different level 💯
great video! whatever comes with exo/csl, i like, very much!
Very educational, clearly not worth applying this in a diy scenario. Can I ask how you clean and treat the plastic trims or is that for another film 😀
Thanks for the comment - and it'll be for another video :)
Neowax coating towel? Nice studio

On a serious note are you washing and reusing the towels or are they being thrown out? and if you do reuse them how are you cleaning them?

Did you find a coating to use? Not sure if it's available US but Pyramid Car Care's Premium (2 year) coating is very user friendly

you can also spray coating on the paint, so you never touch the paint
I imagine that would result in a thicker layer - yes? Does it take longer to cure?
Do you like ceramic pro 9h or gtechniq ultra better?
We have never had a customer choose CSU and then not asked us to apply it again on every car they've brought in since
Crystal serum Ultra 30ml can able to cover 2 coats over a SUV?
CSU only needs 1 coat
And no, 30ml would not be enough for 2 coats
Not even close!
