I have so many of your choices in books. Loved seeing where you put them. Whisper Man scared me in daylight. Love it. Daisy Jones is so well rated by others, I thought it was a waste of time.
I’ve watched this video twice already🤣 you’re my absolute favorite booktuber Jessie please never change!! I look forward to your videos every week. You’ve got a bestie down in Birmingham if you ever find yourself here😘
I read a lot of mystery but I’m not especially interested in thrillers so BOMC usually isn’t great there. They are also just terrible at fantasy, which is my biggest genre. What they do well is to entice me to read books I otherwise would not even see so things like Sankofa, Beasts of Extraordinary Circumstance, Olga Dies Dreaming, and Family Lore come into my TBR. For that reason I continue to enjoy my subscription. Your video caused me to evaluate that for myself. Thank you!
I really enjoyed this video… lots added to my tbr. I am having some visual difficulty so am leaning more on audio books and my kindle. I’m so grateful in this day and age we have those choices for those of us who are more visually impaired. Scary that my vision changed in 2 weeks and prognosis is poor right now. Reading is my passion so I’ll find a way. I have macula edema in one eye and a wrinkle in the other…it’s scary but my eyes are aging and thank heavens today we have alternatives.
Loved this video! ❤ I have had a subscription since 2017. I skip most months but once in awhile I see a book I’m dying to read (like Crying in H Mart or Piranesi or Babel) and I add it to the box since it’s less expensive than buying it new at the bookstore. I usually review all the books each month and put holds on the interesting ones at my local library. I only order the books I know I will want to annotate or that I think will really stick with me, usually 2-3 books per year but I’m very picky with owning physical books.
Love the new fall shelves and matching look ❤ Not having access to book of the month I was more interested in the recommendations you gave. I added some of your favorites to my TBR.
This is such a fun one! I loved seeing them all as you ranked them and thinking where I’d put ones I read. I’m a BOTM subscriber for a few years now so I’ll have to see if mine line up similarly (tho I still have a ton of them to read!)
I’ve had book of the month for close to two years now and I’m always surprised how much I typically enjoy the books I get from it! I think I’ve only had 1 book I rated 1 star and maybe like three I’ve rated 3-3.5 stars (and I usually get more than one book in the box)! Now I just need to catch up with reading the ones I have, lol!
I feel like I’ve gotten quite a bit of fantasy from Book of the Month! I’ve mostly really liked the books I’ve gotten. I think there have only been one or two that I did not like at all. I do like how it introduces me to new books.
I just took a look at my BOTM bookshelf and about 25% are misses for me. But part of that is me experimenting with the romance genre and realizing I don't like a lot of romance, haha. Overall I think it's totally worth the subscription and introduces me to books I wouldn't otherwise know about/pick up.
I don't have a BOTM subscription. I don't read a lot of contemporary literary, horror or thrillers so I don't think it woulld work for me. And I agree with you about Project Hail Mary - so good!
I've never had a BOTM subscription, but I've read several they've featured and the quality started to stand out enough that... I now track BOTM titles and the trend is terrible for me. There are fewer strong anti-buzzwords for me now than "BOTM pick"
I loved "It Ends With Us," even though it seems like everyone else hates it. The book delivered a powerful message, and I connected with it personally. Unfortunately, many people criticize me for enjoying it. Sometimes, it feels as if others are just hating on the book for clout. Thank you for being honest with your review.
A woman is no man is literally my favorite book of all time. I never hear anyone talk about it. I'm glad you liked it
it’s soooo amazing!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I love the way your fall shelves look! Thrillers often end up in my "I don't remember" tier!
The fall shelves look so cute :)
Thank you!! 💕💕

Great idea for a video, and nicely done too.

what an interesting video!
Loved this video! Added a few books to my BOTM TBR shelf. Thank you!
I had no idea some of these were botm picks!
Oh no, now I gotta research what AJ did.

I remember having those exact same feeling reading Gone Girl!
