I had no idea it was on the Jet Set Radio Future soundtrack, I first heard the song on the soundtrack for the movie Kids In The Hall: Brain Candy.

I fucking love the vocals lmao, i love seeing it preformed live but hearing it through my Xbox as a kid was an irreplaceable experience. Sad that the audience probably couldn't appreciate it

Yeah I love how Japanese Hip Hop is more a tribute to urban culture... Progressive urban and even lounge stuff like the SF Third Strike soundtrack. Absolutely love it.

When this first aired, I was already pretty excited to see the premiere of Viva Variety, but as soon as the song started, I began jumping up and down uncontrollably. When she said "Turn up the TV" I did, ALL the way up, and kept it there for the rest of the performance!!!

My guess is that Janeane Garofalo had something to do with it. She is a fan of the band, and when she appeared on an episode of Squirt TV the year before, Cibo Matto was the musical guest there too. The full episode of that show is on you tube .... they played "Know Your Chicken".

as others mentioned "Viva Variety" was meant to look like european variety shows thus lots of accent humor etc. the hosts were a divorced couple.
