For anyone who misses this game and wants a similar experience, there is a new game coming out called Bomb Rush Cyberfunk which has an art style that is nearly exactly the same as JSRF.
@@seen3804 based on what information? They announced it back in 2020. But have released some gameplay trailers just a few months back. They announced it is coming out this year, we just don't know which quarter. If you know something I don't, please share.
It’s crazy how it’s been well over 12 years but I can still remember all the songs as am I skipping thru them 😭🙏🏽yotube really is the closest thing we have to a Time Machine right now
The first time I played this game, it confused the heck out of me. The gameplay, art, and sound effects were strange... but the chaotic music layered on top made it feel especially bizarre. Looking back, it seems as I learned to play the game, I also learned to love the music. To the point where I'll *still* wake up with one of the songs stuck in my head. This game was so ahead of it's time and never received the appreciation it deserved.
I couldn’t understand this game at all. Everything about it intrigued me. I just wasn’t mature or competent enough to know what I was suppose to do in that game. I do know that I immediately loved the music lol
I had the same experience, at that age and being my first xbox game ever everything was so strange but intriguing. The chaotic music and atmosphere of the game confused me but in a good way that it made me want more of this game. The rollerskates, the graffitti, everything just seemes so mesmerizing even though i didn't really understood any of it at that time. But it sure shaped my taste in art style and music as well as all that was appreciated in the game. I still have alot of the music stuck in my head and bring me back to the time i would play this game for hours and never get tired at all. Not playing to get a high score, or competing against others, just having fun and enjoying the game itself in every aspect mentioned. I love this game.
JSR OST gives off a vibe of a world where teens and young adults freely express their profound understanding of love and freedom while still remaining young and unhinged and having fun. A reminder for us to just be ourselves and speak out against unjust opression, that's how I feel it tbh. A revolutionary vibe imo
oh god, i was like 9 or 10 when I got my first xbox in 2002 and it came with a disc of this, sega gt 2002 and a bunch of demos, including a cheesy startup kit demo "dark master", what a fkn journey those were, this one really stands out to me though, and the OST hits me right in the memories =)
This soundtrack is timeless. I'm so thankful that I had this game during my childhood. Haven't played it in almost 10 years. I miss it so fucking much.
Armiter My game disc stopped working and ever since I never played it. Feels like yesterday, but it has indeed been a decade already. Everytime I watch videos on youtube I feel like I'm there all over again, so I'm glad with that!
Sean McClintock I might someday. I just haven't took the time to look it up... The cool thing is, I still have the saved data of my original game on my Xbox.
in the original Jet Set Radio there's a song (Improvise) that says the n word a few times and also That's Enough has that "the music turns me on" and also DJ Professor K says "bullshit" in one cutscene

2023 & 2,763,107th viewer. Thank you. This brings back memories of my late brother J (r.i.p) when he introduced me to JSRF. We had fun playing this memorable game. He passed before the 2012 version. Afterwards, i couldn't think of JSRF without the waterworks flowing from my eyes. Now, 12 years after our family's devastating loss (terminal cancer). I heard my nephew watching one of many JSR videos, familiar tunes playing as he was going through the list. At that moment, all I could do was smile. A happy tear fell and I still smiled thinking to way back when. So I searched and found your complete soundtrack and it feels like yesterday when we were having fun. I was his caretaker and on his good days we were peas in a pod with Xbox. Out of nearly 3 million people I wanted to express to you how much this means to me. My (late) lil bro is a timeless gamer in the console of my heart NES/N64/Sega/Dreamcast/Xbox 🕹️🎮 The fun he had helped his blood counts go up after the chemo days passed. His son is a gamer *Like his father before him* he invites me to sit and watch him game on his Xbox when he visits every now and then. I wish someone would be able to have the resources to remake it with a few added tracks of this generation as the next generation has made some great contributions. Thank you, Your new Subscriber 👍
One of the best games ever made, sad modern games are so creatively bankrupt. I never could complete this game as I couldn't unlock the dog, cause you have to do some stupid tricks at the end of the game to unlock him.
i might make a remake of this video but with the songs correctly cut as they are ingame (let mom sleep skipping the sirens at the start, birthday cake and im not a model being censored, etc)
*During a business meeting a Microsoft executive speaks with Devs of Sega GT* Congratulations you'll be one of the first games to grace our new Xbox console, it'll be placed on a dual sided disk with some unknown skating game with graffiti. Your comment was only two days ago, and there's still other comments here that are fairly recent haha, i love that Sega, please. ;-;
Wedge Amazing support, I saw this video as a related video and had to click on it, listenand reminse about it for a bit 😭😁 Man. JSRF is my favorite game of all time, point blank...we deserve a remaster. new addition or hell I'll take a remake at this point. Toss a dog a bone Sega lol
Wedge Hope so, an E3 announcement would be sick! I'm not going to hold my breath too much though sadly, Sega lately have been too busy making mediocre / crappy Sonic Boom games.
This is one of the greatest and most unique soundtracks I have ever heard in a video game. I'm drowning in nostalgia with my 6-inch-thick rose colored glasses. I remember jumping onto the alligator in the sewers and riding him around the whole lap he walks, and that one hidden room in Kibogaoka Hill filled with like 30 cats.
This soundtrack will always define my childhood. I loved this game and the music. My whole winter break when I was eleven was spent playing and beating this game. I still hold a record among a small group(and possibly more) for having the best time on the Sky Dinosaurian Square track.
Yeah lol this game made up a good chunk of my childhood. I STILL play this on my original xbox lol I hold a record for fastest time to beat the game and probably most hours playing this game lol However the only character i can't get is the rapid 99 for the multiplayer. for some reason I just can't seem to beat rapid 99 and get a jet pro rank
Agreed, I had no idea how to Roller Blade, but this game pushed me to learn and have fun with it, never did graffiti though. Ironic, a video game that made you want to go outside and play lol.
Sega is out of touch with what the fans want. It took them forever to get Yakuza on the newer consoles and now it has been really successful. They could do the same for JSRF
@@NeoNovastar played it for the first time back in may. your not wrong, the jamming music and free flow movement mechanics allowed the game to stay fresh as hell, and it played to the Xbox's Strengths graphically, and has ensured that its graphics aged quite well.
I remember when they made a mobile version, and it was great. Of course, it never got updated and stopped working years ago. But look at the Infinity Blade games that got removed despite having been extremely profitable, good mobile games not being supported seems to be a sadly common theme these days.
Coming from the original JSR, its impressive how they really took the 'Future' concept to heart with the music. JSR soundtrack was fun and happy and youthful. This soundtrack literally sounds like it traveled back in time, even in 2023. Its like the entire game, from the visuals to the OST, grew up and matured
Damn I was in middle school when this game came out. I beat the whole game but also I mimicked the dances thinking I was hot shit. I’m now 34, paying mortgage and bills And for years in my head I can hear so many of these just on repeat in my head. I randomly came to TH-cam to one day and found this 💎 Thank you.

I wasn't a big fan of the original JSR, but JSRF just blew me away. It fixed all of the problems JSR had, making spray painting less tedious and the levels more linear while still making them look big and explorable.
I never even played Jet Set Radio, mostly because I didn't have any of the consoles it was originally for. But I loved JSRF so much that I didn't really care, lmao.
This game came in a “double sided” disc along with Sega GT 2002 with my cousins Xbox back in the day (too poor to get one myself). But I was playing JSRF all day everyday fucking day!! It’s crazy how it’s been well over 12 years but I can still remember all the songs as am I skipping thru them 😭🙏🏽yotube really is the closest thing we have to a Time Machine right now
i sold my old xbox 360 for some weed back in the day and i regret it cause i had this game and i feel like playing through it again 😂
@@simonss13 probably the only reason i rollerblade now
well said man, i think the games we had in our youth really developed our taste as individuals and im so happy that i had this game
I couldn’t understand this game at all. Everything about it intrigued me. I just wasn’t mature or competent enough to know what I was suppose to do in that game. I do know that I immediately loved the music lol
It's not called Jet Set Radio 'FUTURE' for no reason
The music of the future, from the past
JSR OST gives off a vibe of a world where teens and young adults freely express their profound understanding of love and freedom while still remaining young and unhinged and having fun. A reminder for us to just be ourselves and speak out against unjust opression, that's how I feel it tbh. A revolutionary vibe imo
Scapegoat Wax - 'Aisle 10' was my favorite song in the game. "HELLO ALLISON!"
Saw them live in 2001, pretty fun on stage

"I wanna hold your hand!"

My (late) lil bro is a timeless gamer in the console of my heart
NES/N64/Sega/Dreamcast/Xbox 🕹️🎮 The fun he had helped his blood counts go up after the chemo days passed. His son is a gamer *Like his father before him* he invites me to sit and watch him game on his Xbox when he visits every now and then. I'm so glad I kept this game after all these years. I love playing through the story every once in a while and unlocking all the characters. Sometimes I just free skate just to listen to the soundtrack. One of the best soundtracks in a game! Its a shame SEGA never got around to making a sequel to this.
They still can, and they should!
And I'm pretty sure that must be a really fun experience to reminisce on haha
This game is gonna be worth 100's of dollars someday on amazon/ebay (probably already is, idunno)
Hopefully i can get a copy again before that happens :)
JSR is coming back, baby! New game in development! Time for Sega to shine again!
Why do I remember them so well??? 2023 and these tracks are still the shit
Same, no other game soundtrack has stuck with me like this one ☝️
Guys please don't fight on my channel. There's PM's for that. Just listen to the music :3
Mr Slinky groovy
Mr Slinky Is the whole "100th subscriber gets to choose next video" thing REALLY a good idea? This is the internet and you don't know who that person is.
Logan Sitton yep :P I'm prepared for it
Mr Slinky Finally a fellow music enthusiast. - All of us
Mr Slinky omg brings back memories
I haven't played this game in 8 - 10 years. Yet I can recognize every single song.
Every. Single. One.
Even the ones I don't like... which are few and far in between.
It sticks with you. Speaks to you on a level you don’t really understand. But you get it.
Who else is needing this remastered for all systems?
I didnt know this but they made a spiritual successor to this game called bomb rush cyber funk. Really brought back memories so I will be listening to this on the way home.
