One of my all time favorite games ever is Genma Onimusha on the XBOX, an upgraded port of Onimusha Warlords on the PS2. The XBOX version has a whole new level, new bosses, new enemies, the new green souls system, new attacks for your weapons, new armors and overall higher difficulty, that make it the definitive versión of the game, even better than the remaster because that version lacks all the bonuses from Genma on the XBOX
Funnily enough, *some* leftover assests and code of those levels are leftover in the GameCube version, so counting the GBA adaptation, it basically mingled with every version except the Sony version lol
@@Supersayainpikmin I heard a rumour that one of the reasons, is that the Ps2 version didn't have enough framerate on the part that Kraven is aiming at you, only Xbox.
I think (it's been a few decades), that the Xbox Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time contained both the original 1989 game as well as POP2, while the PS2 and GCN versions only had the first game as an unlockable.
Random and unrelated but the Wii version of Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings has Fate of Atlantis as an unlockable. I love console specific stuff like that.
Major props to the devs behind Godzilla Destroy All Monsters. They actually used the time between the GameCube and Xbox releases to touch up multiple aspects about the game to make it more polished when they could have just gotten away with adding an extra map and character (which they also did and then some). IMO it's one of the best Xbox ports of that generation.
The devs of the Splinter Cell Double Agent were doing both og and 360 versions, but since they liked the fanbase of the og version, the released more content on the xbox version.
SoulCalibur II is one of my favorite Xbox games and as a Spawn fan I was really hyped he was going to be in the game back when it was announced. But while I enjoyed him in the game, I really wish his cape had also made it in, even as part of his weapon arsenal. I know hardware limitations of the time probably is what kept it out, but it would've been awesome to see. Also, I remember playing X-Men Next Dimension with my cousin when it came out and being hyped for it as well and then ultimately being disappointed by the sub par fighting mechanics. Cool video though, I didn't know about the Xbox exclusive content in those other games, specifically Spider-Man which I owned lol.
Yeah I actually read that the cape was left out due to hardware limitations while doing research on this video. Its a shame honestly. Thank you for watching!
As someone who grew up playing the ps2 version of Spider-Man, it was a real treat to see the Kraven levels when I got my Xbox in 2009 and my uncle Roy giving me the game the next year!
Microsoft did do some work with the Dreamcast and Sega did helped out too on the Og Xbox, and if you look at the controllers, they are very similar stick placement on the controllers and the ABXY buttons, the memory port on the controllers There are alot of Sega exclusive games on the OG Xbox like Jet Set Radio, Crazy Taxi, Pranzer Dragoon Orta, etc
If I had a guess for the Spiderman exclusivity since there is no known agreement, the devs were making the level and in the end it just didn't run well on the other consoles, especially with all the fire. I noticed the framerate drops on the video and wonder if they figured to keep it on the console that could "kind of run it" rather than scrap it altogether.
For your next list, you should do a review on GENMA ONIMUSHA . The game has extra features in the game, like. 1) New enhanced Xbox version of Capcom classic. 2) New areas to explore, evolving enemies, enhanced action, and modified difficulty level ! 3) New attack modes and stronger enemies - more than twice the gameplay of the original ! 4) Dodge enemy attacks and fight your enemy in a tug-of-war to absorb valuable Green Souls.
It's pretty cool that they're third party games that have their own exclusive content in each respected ports. Now a days it's all DLCs for every consoles, and none of them have their own unique limitations, and don't have their own personal identities.
The most interesting Spawn appearance I've ever seen was in the Nippon Ichi Software game Rhapsody. They changed his appearance slightly and changed his name to Night Spawn to use him without copyright issues. A developer of the game must've really been a big fan of the 1997 movie that came out a year before the game's release.
Genma Onimusha, the Xbox version of Onimusha Warlords. It has a lot of unique content, which hasn't been ported anywhere. Even the 2018/9 remaster of Onimusha Warlords doesn't contain any of the content from Genma. It's truly a lost gem.
Wonder if master chief was almost in soul calibur 2. Also there wasn't 3 versions of MechaGodzilla in DAMM, just Mecha 2 and 3. Didn't know about the DLC! Love the channel, the first Xbox is one of the most interesting and underrated platforms ever. Plus most of the visuals really hold up and sixth gen is imo the best console generation
Godzilla: Domination! for the GBA is not a port of Destroy All Monsters Melee. It's a completely different game. It just happens to be published by Atari/Infogrames and has similar box art.
For the opposite side, there's the Xbox port of Shadow the Hedgehog that exclusively LACKS the ability to have the 2nd controller to play as a Hero side character on the story.
Stumbled upon this video on my feed and it filled me with nostalgia. Not only because of the Xbox games, but also because you used Trauma Team soundtrack while talking about the X-Men game. I miss my Wii so much lol
Great content as normal, fun topic to cover! So my memory is a little fuzzy on this but on PS2 Tenchu wrath of heaven came out then like a year or 2 later it was released on the almighty Xbox branded as Tenchu return from darkness! So like i said not best memory but i recall the Xbox version had more levels and more characters for the split-screen multiplayer. Love Tenchu and of course original Xbox!!! Thanks man
I don't have an Xbox console but I do know that ESPN NFL 2K5 had the ability to use custom music from a CD, and it was exclusive to the Xbox because it had the ability to rip from CDs (the game was also on the PS2, but the PS2 does not have that feature). (Thanks to comments from a video about NFL 2K5 for letting me know about this!) (And I know 5:24 talks about basically the same feature in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3)
I’d love to see you cover secret weapons over Normandy. It’s definitely one of the best air combat games on the original Xbox and I feel like it’s a bit of a hidden gem.

Tenchu Wrath Of Heaven: New missions, ability to drag bodies, online co-op, new cutscenes, more 2 characters for versus mode, guards call for help when they spot the player and some bug fixes like going through walls. The Incredibles: New DLC arena "Robot Battle Arena".
I loved Agressive Inline on Gamecube but didn't play the Zoo level until years later when I picked up the Xbox Version used. I loved it but i also wish it had goals. Same thing with Oil Rig on THPS3, I played it on Gamecube but didn't play the oil rig until years later for the same reason. I had already played American Wasteland's Oil Rig though. Loved playing Spawn in Soul Calibur 2 though. I actually picked up all 3 versions preowned from Gamestop years ago and still have them.
This was a good video. I will admit I'm not a fan of Xbox, but I always found their exclusive content quite interesting specifically Soul Calibur 2 featuring Spawn which is quite an unexpected choice for the Xbox but good (I think he was chosen due to Spawn's VA Keith David narrating some Xbox Commercials back in the day but I'm not sure). I remember reading on the Soul Calibur wiki that during development a Dead or Alive Character was considered for the Xbox Version, but Tecmo turned down the offer (No character was named but Ayame or Ryu Hayabusa would have been ideal choices imo). Similarly, Cloud Strife was considered for the PS2 Version of the game until Square backed out during the last minute. Additionally, while it is not relating to Original Xbox I always found it odd how Xbox 360 Fighting Games like Mortal Kombat 9 (God of War's Kratos on PS3) and Street Fighter X Tekken (Infamous' Cole McGrath, Turo & Kuro (Sony's Japanese Mascots, Megaman and Pac Man on PS3) there were no characters in the Xbox ports. I recall that Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski did want Marcus Fenix or General RAAM in MK9 but it didn't go anywhere (I always wondered what their costumes. stage, fatalities, moveset and x-ray could have been if he made it in). I'd love to see Marcus or RAAM for Mortal Kombat 1 (imagine their interactions with other Guest Characters like Homelander, Omni Man, Peacemaker and Other Future Guest Characters) but with how the Fighting Game Community feels about Console Exclusive Guest Characters in tournaments it probably won't happen.
Hey I'm an og xbox enthusiast. If you ever feel like it. Do a video comparing the 3 different video card versions in the original xbox. Xbox2hdmi, Capture cared with OBS and tell us which one you thought had the best image quality. Personally I feel the conexant is the worst. and the focus/xcalibur are the best. Would be cool. thxs
Genma Onimusha Silent Hill 2 Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Grand Theft Auto games well, basically the only thing that the Grand Theft Auto games had that the PS2 version didn't was customizer soundtracks
The middle two games were absolute perfection. Playing as Green Goblin in Spiderman, glider and all with its own unique weapons and mechanics and your opp being Hobgoblin was hilarious. Not to mention some of the cheats. Iykyk. Next Dimension with its dynamic stage transitions was godlike and I'm actually lowkey upset other games haven't tried that as a mechanic. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, as much as I love that game, got lazy on stage transitions just being a straight up teleport but, also knocking someone off the stage is the only way it could happen so... Also JSRF, oh my god Sega why aren't you funding this?! And while I had Soul Calibur 2 on Gamecube because it got to me first(though I would have gotten any of the versions at any given time, having owned all 3 of that generation), Spawn looks like an absolute TANK. Link had a cool moveset but, honestly not terribly viable and kinda seemed like, if EVO were a thing at the time, a "low tier" build. I could go on but we'll stop here. The og Xbox truly was a great system, even if the controllers had the most faulty wiring known to man. Went through 2 controllers before I got frustrated and kinda gave up cos, controllers hella expensive. They're like graphing calculators; the price ain't EVER going down 😅
Hey mate, I finally got around to picking up a copy of The Simpsons on 360. Not sure if you have covered that one or not. At least here in Australia this game is pretty rare for 360 but easily accessible for PS3. The cheapest I could find locally was $70 aus . Some are asking almost $200 for the pal version now. I really hope Xbox start releasing some decent games other than a walking sim as 360 game collecting is getting rather expensive lol I am really enjoying King Kong though. Up to the city section. I like how it is more like a puzzle so often in the jungle sections as you have such limited resources. Pretty cool game
Yeah this video is a great archiving/informative piece document some amazing history! Gain a sub here mate, please do more of these and feel free to expand into DLC and console variations such as how Ghost Recon release Island Thunder for Xbox and Jungle Storm for the play station!
Fatal Frame 2 has even more exclusive content. Not the scope of the video, but they also run a little better and look a little nicer than the PS2 originals. I'd say they are the games with the biggest gap in content / quality compared to PS2, as well as the Splinter Cell games.
@6:28 In the video, you say "both" characters premier in the same game, followed immediately by saying there's 3 versions of MechaGodzilla. MechaGodzilla 3 is the third iteration of the character also known as Kiryu. The first original MechaGodzilla doesn't appear in the game or its sequel, only appearing in the Wii version of Godzilla Unleashed. That said, this was a fun video, good stuff.
i would love to add Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams it’s literally the same thing as the precious copies of the PS2 but Xbox version includes Maria’s story AND it’s so much cheaper for a used copy and best version of SH2 imo
Wouldn´t Ghost Recon 2 kinda count here? I mean, it has the same name and cover art as the PS2 and Gamecube versions, but is a entirely different game because the XBox Version is essentially the 1st half of the overall Story while the PS2 and Gamecube version got the 2nd half.
Yes, Fatal Frame 2 has differences. It got enhanced visuals, a first person mode, a new ending, survival mode and more unlockable costumes. Not sure if these additions got carried over into the Wii Version too though.
@@Soonjai The Wii Version of Project Zero 2 features two new endings - the Frozen Butterfly and Shadow Festival endings - as well as at least two new cutscenes. This is the reason why Project Zero 2: Wii Edition is the first game in the series to feature British voice actors. Also Following Project Zero III: The Tormented and Zero: Tsukihami no Kamen, the Camera Obscura for Project Zero 2: Wii Edition uses a time-based charging system, while the original was based on proximity.
It was kind of a mistake putting Vulture and Kraven as bosses in Spider-Man: The Movie Game, because Sam Raimi planned on making them canon in the sequels that never happened.
Not gonna lie! I was pretty jealous that XBOX owners got to play as Spawn in Soul Calibur 2, whereas I got stuck with Heihachi (Tekken) for the PS2. Thankfully, Namco did release over a decade later with Soul Calibur 2 HD Online in which both Heihachi and Spawn were included in the same game for both the PS3 and XBOX 360 but sadly Link from The Legend of Zelda was absent due to copyright by Nintendo (and I highly doubt Namco would be interested in releasing it for the Nintendo Switch just to get Link back into the game). However, 15 years later, since Soul Calibur 2, Spawn would make another guest appearance. This time as a DLC guest fighter in Mortal Kombat alongside Rambo, The Terminator, Robocop, and The Joker. There's even a reference to Soul Calibur 2 (and Injustice) in his starting intro against Scorpion. Spawn: You've been to other dimensions? Scorpion: Each with its own Injustices. Spawn: That explains why my soul still burns.

I am excited for the Kraven The Hunter film releasing in December this year
So you're the one...
Doom 3. The coop was amazing, I'm really upset they never brought it back...
Harry potter and the chamber of secrets has a secret Gringotts level exclusive to Xbox over the other consoles
I thought that oil rig track was based in mgs2 ...skate track
3:40 Ohhh giant axe, I completely misheard there 😅
👀
Hey I'm an og xbox enthusiast. If you ever feel like it. Do a video comparing the 3 different video card versions in the original xbox. Xbox2hdmi, Capture cared with OBS and tell us which one you thought had the best image quality. Personally I feel the conexant is the worst. and the focus/xcalibur are the best. Would be cool. thxs
Battlefront 2 allowed the enemy to have Jedi on the Xbox - but not on PS2
Had both copies and it took me about a year to realise
If you dont want to mod your og xbox for the godzilla maps they came on one of the xbox demo disc in the download center
Good catch! Thanks for the info.
You should check out Genma Onimusha and Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance.
I would love to hear about the added content on the xbox version of Star wars starfighter ;)
The Doom 3 xbox port had co-op over xbox live!
Will say the fellowship of the ring on xbox seemed like a completely different game over the PC and Playstation version
Yeah it's a completely different game. I wanted to add that to this list, but that one needs more of a deep dive to show off just how different it is.
Genma Onimusha Silent Hill 2 Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Grand Theft Auto games well, basically the only thing that the Grand Theft Auto games had that the PS2 version didn't was customizer soundtracks
Fatal Frame and Soul Caliber 2 are my favorite GameCube games 😛
They're like graphing calculators; the price ain't EVER going down 😅
Dude I’m gonna buy a physical fatal frame for my series x because of your video!!!! Thanks I completely forgot I wanted it.
Just as a warning Fatal Frame is not backwards compatible on the Series consoles.
I never had an XB but I have 2 copies of Aggressive Inline on PS2. I've actually played it more than any Tony Hawk game.
Star Wars Battlefront maps!
I was going to ask for a follow up video on ps2 exclusive content before realizing your channel name. Whoops 😅!
No worries haha, but I'm sure someone is making good PS2 content out there!
Finally, I Am just Lookin for Original xbox only yellow square.
I really hope Xbox start releasing some decent games other than a walking sim as 360 game collecting is getting rather expensive lol
I am really enjoying King Kong though. Up to the city section. I like how it is more like a puzzle so often in the jungle sections as you have such limited resources.
Pretty cool game
I Would Love To See More OG Backwards Compatible.
Splinter cell 2 has one of the best levels exclusive to the og xbox
While I had the GameCube version, I loved Godzilla destroy all monsters hopefully I can find an Xbox copy for a good price
There was a King of fighters Neowave branded as Only on Xbox... but it was a lie because on PS2. 🤨 Apparently identical.
I love it when somebody talks about the dreamcast 2 😊😊😊😊
i would love to add Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams
it’s literally the same thing as the precious copies of the PS2 but Xbox version includes Maria’s story AND it’s so much cheaper for a used copy and best version of SH2 imo
What about SWBF2 Xbox DLC? Or was that both consoles?
Xbox exclusive content time blessed to see all from 1980-Now
Wouldn´t Ghost Recon 2 kinda count here? I mean, it has the same name and cover art as the PS2 and Gamecube versions, but is a entirely different game because the XBox Version is essentially the 1st half of the overall Story while the PS2 and Gamecube version got the 2nd half.
Great channel, love your content.
Thanks for watching. I appreciate it!
When my very 1st og xbox broke on me as a teen. I thought it was because I burned too many cds to it
like back in the day when your parents just assumed anything you were doing was the cause of viruses..... maybe they were right lol
Wuhuu a Mention of Project Zero/Fatal Frame
Ninja Gaiden Black wasn't that different. It was just a remixed, rebalanced version of the original
@@lutherheggs451 but different than the sigma version
I wonder if those games exist digitally
I regretted not joining with Xbox growing up outside of the Xbox 360 and Xbox One
It was kind of a mistake putting Vulture and Kraven as bosses in Spider-Man: The Movie Game,
because Sam Raimi planned on making them canon in the sequels that never happened.
What an awesome video to wake up too. 😊
Can you explain to me how you said these were your personal favorite picks but the X-Men game wasn't played by u yet until you made this video?
Because it sounded cool
