I have so many fond memories with this game when it came out and spend so many hours mastering it. Then they did DOA Ultimate and was just DOA 2 but upgraded. SOOO good, both of them
We have an xbox, it’s my brothers. I wasn’t yet born but I’m pretty sure he got it right after it dropped. I’ve never seen him love and have more passion for a video game than Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. It is really a beautiful game, and I love the story. I also have to say its one of the greater Star Wars games you can play. And i remember wanting to name my future kid ‘Carth’ because i thought it was such a cool name lol, still do. My brother hijacked my nintendo switch a few months ago to play it again lol. He is an absolute god at Pazaak too.
Now ive seen this Breakdown game several times in videos...and i kinda glossed over it at first. But your take touched on aspects of the game that made it sound more interesting to me. The adherence to first person is a nice "Half Life-esque" conciet that i find immersive
KOTOR 1 & 2 are also available on the Switch too. I have the games on there and you're right, they're some of the best Star Wars universe games out there.
Another solid addition to your backwards compatible original Xbox games my friend, terrific picks! I especially love the original Xbox port of "Indiana Jones & the Emperor's Tomb", which I first enjoyed on my PS2 many moons ago! In fact, if you want to see the most stark contrast between the PS2 version compared to the Xbox one, the latter is vastly better in every way. The on-screen words are fuzzy & highly pixelated on the Sony platform, where as the original Xbox port looks crisp, distinct in detail & far better lighting. I can see it looks even better on your Series-X! I need to get back to "Star Wars Knight's of the Old Republic", as I started it a few years back but was looking for the strategy guide for it & it's sequel which I have both games & guides for now.
Thank you for bringing up DOA! People forget that it was meant to be the showpiece game for the console before Halo, and it shows today. 3 and 2 Ultimate are absolutely gorgeous in 4K widescreen and look even better than 4 which was a 360 game!
Always waiting lol, I still have my original Blinx 2 and Raze’s Hell copies that my dad bought me when I was 9 and they’re sitting there in hopes one day they become back compat, but i fear at this point that will never happen 😬
Thanks for another great video on this! Unfortunately, some games are no longer available for purchase in the digital store, and, if I'm not mistaken, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time has been like that for quite some time. I read a news article suggesting the return of the backward-compatible games section back in April of this year, but nothing new has come up since then. By the way, I played KOTOR for the first time in 2020, and it has become one of my favorite games of all time, it's fantastic. It made me even more excited to try or revisit classics from the past, like Jade Empire, Beyond Good and Evil, Castlevania SOTN (and the whole franchise, tbh).
That Indiana Jones game looks really fun. My personal must-have backwards compatible titles are not just great games, but also hold a high nostalgic value for me: MX Unleashed, and the Splinter Cell series, especially Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory
I bought Breakdown day 1 back during the og Xbox years. Great game, didn't know it was backwards compatible. Wish they added achievements to these games like Sony is doing with retro releases on PS4/PS5. How's Ninja Gaiden Black on Xbox Series X? I've got Ninja Gaiden 2 2008 and it definitely runs better on Xbox One X and Xbox Series X. Shame they didn't add Return to Castle Wolfenstein Tides of War to backwards compatibility. Or how about Dino Crisis 3, it still remains an og Xbox exclusive to this day.
I had no idea that Prince Of Persia was backwards compatible 😱 I know you can’t buy it but even games you can’t buy still show up in the store as “Unavailable” so you know that it can’t be bought digitally but can still work with a disc and I don’t remember seeing it in the store AT ALL. Weird. I just bought it for so I’ll definitely play it on my Series X for sure 👍
great video, i watch vids like this all the time so im surprised im actually downloading TWO games rn based on your video (indiana jones and breakdown)
A lot of great games here. KotOR is my favorite of these, but DoA3 saw A TON of play time back in the day. Also Indiana Jones is so good, definitely hidden gem status.
Sadly i still known all the Games here but i appreciate that u made a Video about it. Backwards Compatibility has to expand! And it is a shame that some Games got delisted... even without saying a Word - Looking at You Ubisoft!!! - . I'm curious to know what u think about the other OG Xbox DoA Games! Also Funfact: In the German Version of Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb, they hired the Original Harrison Ford Voice Actor for the Game!! So if you play it, you really feel that you are Playing indiana Jones!
Emprerors Tomb is so good imo. The punching and shooting effects are right from thr movies and the fact indys hat can fall off and he can pick it up and brush it off. Little details like that are just so good. I had it by disc and knew it was for sale but sucks they took it off. I always wonder why they do that. You'd think they would keep as many games available got purchase as possible.
I know they weren’t the best in their genre but for nostalgia reasons I’d love to see the Legends of Wrestling games get the Backwards Compatibility treatment
I wish backwards compatibility had online play. Like Fusion Frenzy. I wish theyd add Whacked! and Hunter The Reckoning with online. I wish theyd add Dr Muto to backwards compatibility. That game was interesting to say the least.
Breakdown was a fun game to play, and I would like to see a remastered/remake version of Breakdown. 😉 Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is a classic and loved playing it, yet Ubisoft can't even give us a proper remake. 🙄 I own Dead or Alive 3 [CIB] and it's so much fucking fun to play and it looks and plays WAYYY better on the Xbox Series X. 😎
Should have put time splitters 2 and 3 on the thumbnail. Lots of hype around those games right now cuz they're coming to PlayStation. Meanwhile they've been on Xbox running at 4k 60 for years
Fortunately, the Prince of Persia and Indiana Jones games can be found on GOG for $2 on sale. I know not everyone likes to play on PC, but I'm glad the option is there. By the way, some of the footage in this video is inexplicably stuck at 30fps. Was some of it captured through the Xbox's internal recorder? It was a bit confusing to hear you say that KotOR is 60fps, when it looked like 30 here (though I'm pretty sure you're right that it is actually 60 on the XSX).
Yeah some of this footage is a bit older and was captured with my old capture card which had issues capturing at 60 fps so that is what you were seeing, but KOTOR does have a nice 60 fps upgrade.
Why did Microsoft stop updating their backwards compatible program? So much for "game preservation". There's still so many more games I would happily buy but aren't included. Also I'm surprised their own studio's titles like Mech Assault 1 and 2 aren't available, well at least Crimson Skies is.
For a second i was excited and thought this video is about dumping backward compatible games on my Series X But if there is something i can do about that please show me a video
@@campxbox okay, will do. 😊 Because that is the last original xbox game I still kept. The pal Version BC was long time not playable until they fixed it in the end. Wish this Series would still be around. I had all 3 games with for my Saturn back then. But did not keep them. 🙈

DOA 3 was mind blowing in 2001, even now its look soooooo good
Absolutely! Also, it's also pretty playable on Xemu via emulation with minimal frame drops (at least since i last tested it).
I have so many fond memories with this game when it came out and spend so many hours mastering it. Then they did DOA Ultimate and was just DOA 2 but upgraded. SOOO good, both of them

Pretty neat huh? I haven't played but I've now seen a couple videos that put it in a positive light including this one!😊
Was playing this a couple of weeks ago. Had to give up on it. Difficulty is insane and I don't like being stressed while playing.
@@Frank-x1g some games give me so much anxiety I dread playing them and only do when I know I'm in the right mindset
@ThommyofThenn I am old and after playing games on Hard for 20 years. At 60+ I am done with that.
same guys that worked on Tekken worked on breakdown hence why we get "Marshall Law" during a hallucination sequence.
I really enjoy SSX 3. I wish they could add the other SSX games. I’d really enjoy being able to play Tricky again.

DoA3 was the first game i ever played on my xbox as it came bundled with it. Absolutely loved that game.
Metal Arms: Glitch in The System is one I’d love to be able to play again
