I like the story about how Telluride got its name. Back in its mining boomtown days, it was so difficult to get there by horse and wagon and when you got there the competition for resources was so fierce that it got the name "To hell, you ride." It's quite different now, but "To mushrooms, you bluegrass" doesn't have quite the same ring.
I really love this, and had no idea it was on. I would be coming from the uk and so we don't suffer too much from jet lag, would have to stay about a week. Are there any fungi friends that could help with crash space?
We have this passion for mushrooms which are the best and the worst. from all regions, from all languages, this passion unites us. personally I am sufficient for oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus) and I try to cultivate them. In the Paris region I go out with a small group and we harvest the different amanita, in these cold hardwoods the amanita(Amanita Vinosa) is abundant and tasty.
Really helpful video! Our family is looking to go this year but the festival ticket plus special events tickets really add up. Are there enough festival-adjacent activities in town (e.g., mushroom themed dinners at restaurants, mushroom walking tours) to make a trip worthwhile if you don't buy a main festival pass? Say, if we got a couple special event passes and looked for other activities in town?
It is definitely expensive- I am pretty sure you can go though and just not get a festival pass. You can still check out lots of the stuff (mushroom ID tent, parade, etc.) and you can just pay for a foray or two.
Hey I'm thinking of buying a morel mushroom spawn from gmushrooms.org and I wanted to know if there's even a tiny chance of it being successful. Is it possible to grow them from home like I see in TH-cam videos on "how to grow morel mushrooms" or are those videos fake?
Mainly hippies on shrooms. No one goes out to celebrate gross mushrooms for taste. It’s psychedelic. The dude has a sign « lions mane grows your brain’.
I live an hour away from Telluride. Had no idea this was a thing. Thanks for letting us know! Very excited to go to this now.
Awesome! You live in a beautiful area :)
Awesome, I’m looking forward to checking it out tomorrow!
You mounted it on the wall 🙌Looks really rad ;)
thanks! we are happy about it :)
This is so cool!!! I probably plan to go next year since this is the first time I’ve heard about it!
glad we helped you discover it! It really is a fun time :)
pristinegalaxies Me too. Sounds like I will finally know more than the three I do.
I’ve heard of this festival and I’ve always wanted to go. Looks like so much fun and educational!
It really is great!
Wow the forays sound really fun. The whole event..wow Thanks for sharing.
I live in Telluride and have been interested in this festival for a while and this video was very helpful!
"Edible for many, *diarrhea for some* " lmao I wanna go
hahaha, good catch. I laughed so hard when I first saw that

What?? Awesome! Thx Tony
😊 Sounds lovely, much bigger than the festival here in Eugene 🍄❤️
And no 1 word about psychedelics.

I think I’ve just found a destination to pull my camper this year : )
For those interested in this festival check out the documentary "Know Your Mushrooms"
If you want to pay 250 bucks per pass to have people tell you what you could learn yourself be my guest

this sounds really cool, but costs about twice as much as I would like to spend... oh well. maybe I'll get rich by august

@@FreshCapMushrooms ooh good to know! thanks!

When is it!?
August, not sure exactly this year.
@@FreshCapMushrooms Well...that's kinda pertinent information.
Haven't seen any Turkey Tail, do you not like the taste of them or are they not commercially popular?
Can't wait to go!
I’m pretty close being Colorado local and I have yet to go. Maybe I can figure out a way to get there this year, I e never even been to telluride.
So what exactly do i get for paying the $250 early bird ticket price?
You'll have to check the festival website for sure, but you get access to the forays, and all the lectures and keynotes, and many other events
@@FreshCapMushrooms thanks, the website isn't too specific on what exactly you have access to.
@@Keys879 honestly, ya, it can be a little confusing
when exactly is this event
Why do I feel like this would make more sense in Oregon? Does that make me statist
Only if is in reference to azzys
@@ihatecheapcigs6545 lol wait what?

I think I won't because I'm in the UK :P
people do come from all over the world!
It looks like a pretty beautiful area and it would be cool to meet so many like-minded mushroom enthusiasts. Maybe some day :)
Yeah, but can I trip there?
You can trip anywhere
Is this a good place to find out about psilocybin mushrooms?
No they look down on people interested in cubes
I can answer your questions though.
I believe they have classes on recent studies around psilocybin for use in treating depression.
Save your money. TH-cam is free and your local library will have books on mushrooms

lion's mane isn't psychedelic. But it is good for your brain.
