I hope Sasaki finds the right team that can support his development and pitching career. Sasaki is coming over early like Ohtani because he knows he will need a few seasons to gradually adjust to American baseball, culture, lifestyle, etc.
@@yo2trader539 Roki is 23 years old and still hasn’t learned an offspeed pitch. Most pitchers in the USA learned that by the age of 18. There is nothing an MLB team can teach him that a Japanese team couldn’t in terms of developing pitches. The sequencing of how to use those pitches is what the MLB can help him with. But he hasn’t even developed in offspeed pitch yet. He truly isnt ready and I don’t know why he decided to come before learning an offspeed pitch
@@johndurrer7869 He has a 2 pitch mix, a 100 mph fastball and a 90 mph splitter. Splitters are a type of change up, an off speed pitch. Those fast balls looked like sinkers to me with their arm side movement, and his splitters had glove side movement and good drop. Sasaki will be battered by right handed power hitters in the Majors because of his pitches. In the NPB the predominant swing is flat making his splitters strike out pitches, in the MLB there are a lot of golf swings from power hitters that will wreck those splitters. If Saskai learns a sweeper he'll be an Ace, without that he'll be back in Japan in 3 years.
@ It’s only a 10 mph difference. That is not gonna keep MLB hitters off balance. For example there is 21 MPH difference between Ohtani’s fastest and slowest pitch. Same with Darvish. Yamamoto has a 17 mph gap. 10 MPH just isnt typical.
@@johndurrer7869 Mason Miller has his (on average for all p[itches) 100 mph 4 seam, 88 mph slider, 93 mph change up, and 98 mph sinker. @ Mason Miller is a closer that averages 102 MPH (Roki averages 97), closers only need a couple pitches because they only face hitters once. I think Roki will do ok his first time through the order. Its after that when he will struggle mightly .
I want him to silence those who doubt or even degrade his worth by calling his legitimate request selfish, or who criticized him as flawed for being carefully managed by his coaches and pitching only short innings. He is a valuable and well-trained talent who has been nurtured for further development to become a perfect pitcher, and MLB is undoubtedly the better stage for him to showcase his true potential. They’ll regret ever underestimating or misjudging him. Go and shine, rookie Roki!
I want Sasaki Roki to do his best. Between Sasaki and Ohtani, Sasaki has more potential as a pitcher. But, the pitching rotation is shorter and there are more games in MLB than in Japanese professional baseball. If he doesn't build up more muscle, he'll get injured in no time. Ohtani was injured a lot during the first half of his time with the Angels, and he grew about two sizes bigger. Sasaki is too thin.
I'm sure he will sign with the Dodgers, all the best players do. He's probably LONG BEEN picked the Dodgers as his destination, but draw it out to hype up fans to bring more interest/money by making fans believe their team even began to have a chance. People will say "oh the Dodgers, spend money your team could spend to, stop hating." While that's partially true, it's just not reality. No other team could even begin to sign all the best players in the game on mostly deffered money. None of these star players would do that with no other team. No other team (besides the Mets) has unlimited funds like the Dodgers do. No other team has quite the marketability the Dodgers do, and no other team could allow a player to make the most like the Dodgers can. No other team has more chance to get players rings like the Dodgers can and no other team has just about all the best players like the Dodgers do. They quite literally have the upper advantage on every team. That's not hating. That's facts 💯 ESPECIALLY the lower market teams won't even bother making an offer because they know they stand ZERO chance of landing the biggest of names. So other teams would spend (hence the Blue Jays), but if the players refuse to sign with them, it amounts to nothing. The Dodgers are quite literally the ruin of the league and the evil villain everyone besides Dodgers fans despise.
Sasaki to Dodgers. It would be the biggest mistake going to any other teams. Just look at Ohtani when he played for the Angels...guess what happen?? He wasted his talent on that crappy team for years. People forget that baseball is a team sport you idiots; IT'S NOT BASKETBALL; so it makes sense for Sasaki to join the Dodgers and play along side with his fellow countrymen/teammates Ohtani & Yamamoto, and win the World Series together. That's how it should be done!
Thanks to the Dodgers scouting as they knew him when he was in high school. Other mlb teams wants don’t research like the Dodgers do and they want food on the table when it was prepared by the Dodgers chef. Every team can cry when he becomes a Dodger and win a chip in his rookie season.
@@jykim3604Yeah and the dodgers are switching to a 6 man rotation , in Japan the pitchers are already used to a 6 man rotation. And they didn't resign Walker .

No serious free agent will ever go to Tamba Bay. The rest of the MLB commends TB's farm system though. They're churning out a lot of talent for the rest of baseball.

@@Ericandroy Sasaki is better off with the Dodgers as they did the scouting and recognized his talent when he was in high school. Yanks wants to steal the talent from the Dodgers.
Roki Sasaki is an overrated pitcher. He has never even been able to defend a six-day middle-of-the-rotation starting rotation. The windy conditions at Chiba Lotte's home ballpark made it easier for his forkball to drop sharply, and that's how he achieved a perfect game. There is a big gap between Roki Sasaki's performance at his home ballpark and the visitor's ballpark. And Roki Sasaki, ignorant of non-baseball contracts, has been duped by his cronies in the advertising industry into trying to move to MLB on a minor league contract with unfavorable terms at the age of 23. Incidentally, there are other young NPB pitchers who are better than him. But many of them are trying to delay their MLB careers until they are 25 or older, because by going to MLB at age 25 or older, they can also sign long-term major league contracts.
Yakyu Cosmopolitan rated him number 3 this year after Hiroya Miyagi and Hiroto Takahashi, and that's with his missing time due to injury. As for other young pitchers, we shall see as we're beginning to see more injuries in NPB as well. His scouting reports are better than any other pitchers coming over, and Lance Brozdowski rated his chance of turning into a reliever (if he fails to make it as a starter) only around 10%, and that's the worst case scenario. As for that attack article that insinuated that he didn't know about the 25-year rule, it's frankly insulting as it all but called him stupid. You really think someone who's been mulling the move for almost two years didn't consult with his agent, attorney, and others? I'd rather listen to experts who are bullish on his chances of being a top pitcher here. He just needs to stay healthy, which could be more possible given all the variables, starting with the climate (Korea and Japan were notoriouisly hot this summer and likely to get hotter in the coming years).
He did this to go to the dodgers to play with ohtani and yamamoto, win a ws championship, and grow in his skills with them. If he went to the mlb 2 years later and demanded a huge payout contract, he wouldnt be able to do it with the Dodgers.
