      @@brodiea9739mao usa brought an all star mvp batting lineup. It was only pitching that was lacking and you act like other countries weren’t missing players. Japan have always produced good players, they should have 150+ players in the mlb right now. If you think that’s high, Venezuela has 100+.
      The only reason more Japanese players aren’t in the mlb is because of the Japanese leagues posting rule. Japanese players must be posted before signing with an mlb team and usually after 25. They also already get paid millions in japan, so there isn’t a push to sign in the US for money either. In fact many Japanese players take a pay cut by heading to the US. So those who do sign, are just wanting to prove at a higher level in America.

    In 2027 he'll still have to request to be posted. In order to be an international free agent you need 9 years of service time, which Sasaki will not have by 2027. The reason that he won't come until 2027 is because then his contract won't be subject to international bonus pool restrictions (because he'll be 25 and have 6 years of service time). Even if a team used all their bonus pool money on him, he would only be allowed to sign a minor league contract with a bonus of like $5m maximum in the MLB, which is less than he'll make in Japan. Whereas if he comes in 2027 he'll be able to get a $300m MLB contract like any other premier starting pitcher free agent.

    • @JonHop1
      @JonHop1 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@burneraccount9359 how is that a controversy when literally all good Japanese pitchers pitch that much? And why is it that Japanese Professionals pitch DOUBLE the amount of MLB pitchers and only have 1/3rd the injuries? Look at the MLB in the 60's and 70's.. Look at the innings of Carlton and Ryan.. Rarely got hurt... Almost every orthopedic surgeon I have ever talked to has said keeping the tendons stretched and in use on a consistent basis, is far more important than rest. Yes, you dont want to OVERUSE your arm, but you need to find that sweet spot and stay there and keep the tendon loose. Too much rest and coddling is why MLB pitchers are getting Tommy John every other year.

    • @burneraccount9359
      @burneraccount9359 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JonHop1 I also agree there's too much coddling in baseball nowadays but 300 pitches in 3 days is just reckless. especially for a high schooler. even in ryan's longest start he didn't come close to 300 pitches. And there's a difference between sasaki who throws 100 vs guys in the 70s who throw 92. Risk of injury goes up with more velo. No way you can spin it where 300 pitches isn't completely insane

    • @JonHop1
      @JonHop1 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@burneraccount9359Obviously, yes... There needs to be a balance. Pitching TOO much is obviously gonna lead to problems. But these days, even when an Ace pitcher is having a solid game, he will barely pitch 100 pitches. Its ridiculous. And with the number of Tommy John Surgeries we see now, compared to elbow injuries in the past, it leads many people to believe(even Orthopedic Doctors), that the current rest period is counter-productive and actually harmful. But, it is a liability and perception thing. If the team is coddling their star, and he still gets hurt, they have zero liability. Every Sports Orthopedic Surgeon I have spoken to here in Japan all says the same thing. The elbow tendon needs consistent stretching and use to be at its optimal strength for durability and longevity. This is why we saw SOOO many pitchers in the 70's and 80's pitch 300 innings per year, and rarely ever get hurt.

      the rule is fine it would be a lot better if we allowed other markets to develop legit sporting leagues instead of stealing their star talents, our market is huge and it's an easy decision to come play for the money for a period of time but in the end most of them feel pride in themselves and their country. It becomes more obvious when you see how the rest of the world appreciates the WBC but the american market is split in a 60/40 way as to not playing just because we don't like it regardless of the fact if you watch the end of this years wbc you get to see Ohtani celebrate like he never has while playing in the mlb, out of pure pride for his country.

    It’s sooo obvious that Ohtani, Yamamoto and Roki all came together and schemed a way for them to all play together one day. Like Lebron, Wade and Bosh did during the Olympics. The only question is if his team will post him or not. They promised him they would when he was ready. If they don’t grant him his wish then there is a way he can get them back for it in a big way. The posting fee isn’t paid out all at once. Just the first 20 million. Which is the same fee they would get if they post him next off-season The remaking fee is a percent of what he gets paid from his first contract. He could sign a deal with an opt out after 2-3 years. If he does that the posting fee would be around 25 million rather than 55 million.

    I don't think there is any need to talk down Skenes. I think the debate over the 2 of them could last their entire careers on towards Cooperstown. Pretty crazy to have 2 pitching prospects of that caliber of the same age at the same time. I do think Sasaki is going to be better. But we will have to wait and see how he continues to develop post injury.

      We can only wait and see. But this kid had a 20 SO perfect game, then almost had another perfect game the next start. His ERA under 1.50 this year, with under 5 hits per 9, 0.1 HR per 9, and almost 14 SO per 9. He has given up just 1 HR this year in 85 innings. Its not quite the MLB, so his performance is insane.

    All I say is he better not throw out his arm. Fast pitching is great to a point but in time the pitcher’s arm can get taxed and injured because of the gas they throw. Look at Wood and Pryor for instance along with Steven Strasburg.

    He likely didn't want to go to the MLB draft after HS because he'd rather develop & get pro experience in Japan rather than the minor leagues - history of NPL stars getting huge rookie contracts is there too.

    Kid is crazy for wanting to come to the MLB now. He would get 400 million if he just waits until he is 25. Ohtani was a different situation because he needed leverage over his club to allow him to prove he was more than just a pitcher.

      deGrom started his career at 26
      That is why he is still so dominant

      I think he's out of MLB now but he really started sucking at around age 30
      Bumgarner is also a year younger than deGrom 🙄
      Sasaki seems to be working pretty hard at age 20-21, my guess is by 30 he'll be done too 🤔
