Wish there were more countries with passion for the game like japan so this could happen more often
The ultimate dream matchup? No. That sir would be Ohtani vs Ohtani.
Wow. Two legends, two teammates, two friends… game on the line. You can’t make this up.
The re invigoration of baseball in America has a direct correlation with Ohtanis success. He's incredible and even though he (and japan) beat us this kind of excitement and attention to the Great American pass time makes me so happy
True. Now AMERICAN football needs a re invigorating bc it's not popular worldwide yet... Tho technically Rugby is kinda similar to it?
American football will never be popular worldwide, lol
@@MasterCombine I agree. Its too complicated and the refs sometimes have more yardage than the players. Its a truly beautiful sport with some of the most technical playcalling and moving parts on the field. But to go global it needs to be understandable easily like soccer or baseball. And they need to invest in getting rid of the refs/expediently overruling bad calls and no-calls
@@MasterCombine i dont think people realize how long it would take for any country to catch up with america in football lmao
I hadn't watched much baseball over the last several years, but this at bat got me super excited about the sport again. Thanks Ohtani and Trout for a great showdown.
Never watch baseball ever and I’m 42 just started when this dude got here and loving it..new fan of baseball
Shohei Ohtani is the real deal and he will break the bank on his new MLB contract
News headline: Yankees buy Ohtani for record deal!
Angels fans:😢

Yeah that contract is going to be something else.
I know this is just a part of Ohtani's legendary story. Today, he hit a walk-off grand slam to achieve 40-40-the fastest in history, with both 40 HRs and 40 steals on the same day.
That’s why he’s the GOAT the GOAT!!!!!
日本人の誇り、国宝よ
ですね。めちゃくちゃにめでたいよ🎉
Onece in a lifetime player
He the only player now at 43-43 dudes the second coming!!
Ohtani made possible the comeback against Mexico in the 9th and again in this 9th. WHAT A PLAYER GOOOOOD!
It's Ohtani's world and we all just live in it...the man is a legend...
Hmmmm....I like this poem.
Who’s here after his 50/50 game
me😆👍

There could be no better way for the WBC to end...Shohei Ohtani vs Mike Trout, 2 of baseball's greatest players, who just happen to play on same MLB team... WOW 😲💯!!!! Shohei was amped up beyond belief...100mph+ on the first 5 pitches to Trout - then, he throws a slider from heaven or another galaxy... here's hoping they can contend in the AL West
It was a moment woven by the Fates themselves
great to be on the same team but wrong to be on the Angels team!.
Almost forgot this dude could pitch as well.
Amazing…..😮
a year later in 2024 he joins the 40/40 club with a walk-off grand slam.
After Ohtani creating the 50-50 club, I came here to remind myself that he was indeed a pitcher.
0.850 with RISP
Was a pitcher. Still is a freaking demigod.
Wow, they hug and I didn't expect to see that excitement from them, pretty cool Japan and I can't help but to feel the pride especially being a regular American guy so thank you Japan!
That last slider, just GOOSEBUMPS
the best scene of baseball history ever
Better than "The Giants win the Pennant"? You might be right.
This was by far the ultimate matchup, ohtani went after him
🤦🏼♂️ lmao wow
I know right
I agree
Can’t wait for Ohtani to pitch like this in his second season with the Dodgers
The music by the arena, the camera work, the teammates and crowd. Everything is so perfect
Ohtani even looks like a superhero.
Its been over 5 days... But ive literally watched this over 100 times. SOOOOOO ELECTRIFYING
CLASSIC BASEBALL ! will be played over and over again in the annals of baseball history ! I love these two guys!
This WBC tournament and specially this game changed the sport of baseball forever
This is the big stage that Trout and Ohtani deserve but never had as Angels.
Japan loves this sport man. Congrats from USA
Thank you!😊
Japan is actually one of the Asian countries that have the best Baseball Players out there besides USA.
I was watching how he had one of the most amazing games batting the other day. I had never heard of him before. Now he's a pitcher too? This dude is going places.
Finally, he reached “54-59”
Gracias Shohei😊
Ohtani has given us so many memory moments.
WBC final vs Trout bottom of the 9th 2 outs, strikes him out to win
40/40 Walk off Grand Slam to win the game
50/50 10 RBIs, 3 HR, 2 SB, 6/6, almost gets the cycle
Decoy Ohtani - first dog to throw opening pitch
How not fell in love of baseball… this was pure art.
The Captain vs the Captain 🔥
This tournament and this at bat got me more into baseball than I have been in over 25 yrs. I was pumped for opening day and still into it now.
