Week ago I stood in baby clothes section and cry from being overwhelmed and totally not prepared for having a baby. And this video answers to half of my questions. Thank you!
I would leave clothes to be the absolute last thing to get if you expect to get gifts from family and friends. I ended up with soooo many clothes, new and hand me downs. I have tons of hats and socks and mittens and washcloths and hooded towels and swaddles. I’m on week 34 and after doing a clothing inventory the only thing I need to get is about 6 newborn sleepers since that is the size I’m lacking the most. I bought a few clothes for fun cuz so adorable, but my baby won’t need much. Babies sleep, eat and poop. The stuff for those three activities is all you really focus on the rest is extra even clothes cuz they don’t need much.
This is very close to what I have gotten for my 2nd baby. I've got about 8 or 9 sleepers for each age. A couple onsies, and bottoms for each age. A jacket for 0-3 months. 3 beanies, only becaue they came in a pack. Small pack of socks. No shoes. No mittens because I file the nails and it gives them the ability to feel with their hands. A pack of 12 burp clothes. 4 muslim swaddles. 1 sleep sack 0-3 months. I do laundry on the weekends for 1-2 days so it made sense to get at least 7 for each size pjs plus some extra items in case of accidents.
Thank you :) I was so lost when it came to buying clothes for my soon to be born baby. I was so anxious when I realized I didn't know how much I had to spend for the first 3 months. Your video is very comforting !
This is genuinely so reassuring!! I feel like there's so much pressure to buy more and more stuff, but from this I'm quite confident we'll be set with the hand me downs from family once baby comes in July 😊
Idk why I have this in my recommanded and I watch it because my youngest is 11 months old but your suggestions are spot on. The only thiing for me was the burp cloth (or small towels), my first I used little of them.. but my second had a lot of reflux and I was using over 10 a day. I had to buy more or else I would be washing every day. So mamas reading this keep in mind that if baby has reflux you can get more small towels or burp cloth (and when we would go out put a bib on), it will save your clothes and your babys clothes lol
I’m a FTM and I just found out newborn and 0-3 aren’t the same 😂 So far I’ve bought only for 0-3 but it’s reassuring that I don’t really need a lot to add for newborns since I have some hand me downs as well. thank you.
Ahhh, thank you so much for making this video. I am 6 months pregnant and I was stressing over what to buy and what not and in how much quantity... You saved me from all this stress.. ❤❤
Not that a bought a lot for my baby, but I'd say more like 10 bodysuits for 0-3 months and 2 hooded towels. Because they can easily poo on them and then even if you end up handwashing right away it still needs to dry.. 😅 Thanks though for this simple video showing that it is possible to not have too much with a baby. Absolutely agree with you for the shoes!
yes omg i totally agree with you. i realised i should factor in clothes being in the wash, being dried and folded hahah thanks for your comment. i hope to do a updated version xoxo M
Great advice in this guide. I have started to use mostly bamboo clothes because babies can wear them so much longer and sizes are usually for a range of six, instead of three months. My baby is nine months now, since yesterday and she fits still perfectly into her 6-10 months clothes from posh peanut, bums n roses and Kyte , with plenty of room to grow. The 0-6 month size actually still fits, but only because bamboo is so stretchy. She’s 65th percentile, so not very small. And it’s super soft and she loves it. But some clothes aren’t available in bamboo, so for those I buy other fabrics but they don’t fit as long. I definitely bought too much stuff initially and before I knew about bamboo clothes, they often just fit her for a short time. We had things she just wore once or twice. If I have another baby, we’ll just buy five bamboo onesies and rompers, footies for the first weeks and then go from there.
This is great advice for me too. I didn't know you can stretch out bamboo for longer as they age the months. I'll take note of this for me next baby. Thanks.
This is so helpful, I’m having my first baby and was kinda worried about cloths and shoes and everything but then scrolling through TH-cam found your video and was like “omg I’m saved”
This is genuinely so reassuring!! I feel like there's so much pressure to buy more and more stuff, but from this I'm quite confident Sooo helpful, and a genuine baby clothes essential list! Thank you
This is so nice to hear. Thankyou. I pour my heart into these videos. I think coz im still starting, my followers are low. But hopefully it will grow so I can help more mums :)
thank you so much finally coz i really didn't know how much to buy! this seems like a good place to start im terrified of buying too much and the baby outgrows everything in like one wear lol
Oh don't feel bad. Hold unto them for future. Haha. But with all those outfits at last you can take a nice photo everyday. My baby was in the same clothes and it's nice to see cute thing each week and each milestone.
You know what. That is totally fine with what you have. Don't buy anything else. Wait til your baby is born and by week 4, you can see what you need. Based on weather and their size. From age week 5, they rapidly grow out of newborn items.
Literally we leave the hospital on day 5, drop the bags at home and head to the shop. There is no way I will ever lock myself in the house. Baby fits into my life, not the other way around. I would lose my mind
Different cultures I guess, but in mine and from what I've heard in many other peoples culture (Asian, African) mother and baby rest for 40 days, people come visit, family usually cook and clean for her so doesn't Lift a finger. Then have big feast at 40 days with family/ friends.
Everyone’s mental health is different, I was forced to leave my house by family members with my 2 week son, as a first time mom at 16. I did, it was awkward & everyone at my church wanted to touch and hold my baby & had old men try to look at him while I was breastfeeding . Never again, so I waited, Took my time & when I did finally leave the house with my second baby I had more confidence. So it’s okay if mommas want to wait a month or want to be out and about, there is no wrong for mental health 🤍
I can recommend either going to the Bonds outlet and getting them on sale, or say only get 3 sleepers. Also you could just get a 3 pack Sleeper at kmart which is quite budget friendly

Literally the only video that's actually helped. Direct and simple. Thank you!
So true. It's straight to the point!
I have been looking high and low on TH-cam to understand baby clothes sizing and numbers. Your video is all I needed. Thank you.
The only realistic video I have seen so far...
This is so realistic. I love the numbers you shared, seems practical and not overwhelming. Thank you for putting this together!

yes 100%. i also had to buy more burb cloths coz my baby would spit up milk heaps.

Thank you so much for sharing! It is so helpful! Just wonder if for winter transiting spring, if I get bodysuit I should get pants as well right?
Yes I recommend pants for sure. Coz sometimes air conditioning and wind can touch their skin but they cannot stay warm
Thanks from Portugal 🎉🎉🎉
I love this
Spot on. Thank you.
Great content! I love that you were so specific
What clothes should i purchase more for my newborn in the summer
I recommend thin light weight onesie sleepers. Coz air conditioning can make a baby cold
Thanks! What was the brand of the sleepers and onesies , I tried googling it but I couldn’t find it!
Oh the Australian brand is called Bonds.
Very informative. Thank you
Thank you. Very helpful.

@@mishygrace it was a headache finding one that fit him

Watching this made me feel so bad because my baby had about 50 0-3 month outfits and I haven’t had my baby shower yet.. #firsttimer 😂
Oh don't feel bad. Hold unto them for future. Haha. But with all those outfits at last you can take a nice photo everyday.
My baby was in the same clothes and it's nice to see cute thing each week and each milestone.
I don’t get how to make the timeline this is my first time being pregnant I need help
You can just write them months downwards. And then in the next column write the season or temperature. And last column write the sizing chart.
I just love how minimal this is.
I need them ooooooo

$200 for 6 bonds sleepers seems like a lot
I can recommend either going to the Bonds outlet and getting them on sale, or say only get 3 sleepers.
Also you could just get a 3 pack Sleeper at kmart which is quite budget friendly
Which country
I'm in Sydney Australia. What item are you looking for?
Too many unnecessary items😒
