Woodturning | Project That Sells - Money Saving, Eco Friendly Seed Pot Mold

  • In this project I make a form and press to make paper seedling started cups from news paper. This project wins on many levels. It is very easy to make the mold and the pots, uses scrap wood and news paper which everyone has, is environmentally friendly and saves money! I made the first one of these 25 years ago as a prototype for an entrepreneur and I think given the cost of everything including vegetables it is a good time to bring it back. I hope you enjoy the video, thank you to all who watch! Please leave a comment and a thumbs up or down!

    Really good video thanks - as food prices start to hike people need to become more self sufficient - not only will I make a couple of different sizes of these for myself I'll make some to sell too - I imagine garden centres would be interested in using and selling these!

    You could put more than 1 circular channel in the base to accommodate different size molds.

    • @TheKlondikeCraftsman
      @TheKlondikeCraftsman  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could but it is good to have that center in there to crimp. I appreciate you watching.

    I like this idea, thank you for sharing. Have you used these before? I am curious how well the paper holds up to the damp environment? Cheers,

    • @TheKlondikeCraftsman
      @TheKlondikeCraftsman  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Chris! I have used them. The hold up decently. Of course you can roll more or less layers so it is dependent on that. One thing I find when watering to put the water in the tray and not on top works best.

      Hi Michael, once you have made the paper planter just use it the same way you would one made of Pete moss. They should be placed in trays and watered from the bottom. I will be showing my planting rack in an upcoming video where I am using 512 of these. Keep an eye open!
