What an interesting video & I love the end result. When you are sanding, you finish off with some 'pads'. I am wondering what they are exactly. Again I love your relaxed commentary & I love the banter that goes on between you & the lady doing the video work. It makes a great contribution to the end product. Cheers, Don from South Australia.

Full disclosure, I don't even own a lathe yet, but I'm hoping some of my machinist experience comes through. When you punched the center to drill for the screw you used a Brad tip drill bit. The Brad tip may have been off a bit as it was not fully engaged in the wood. Also the outside edge of the drill bit could cause some ' walking'. If using a Brad tip, I would use it to it's full Capacity and not punch a hole.
Love your work. First time view. Thanks

Because I have a bandsaw it is no problem for me to divide the piece in two but, more important, Lies is much of the time in the "wood flying zone" with her camera...

Beautiful piece's. I got myself a lathe but nowhere to set up shop. We have a shop room in our building but the landlords won't let us use it. We all live on a budget and they're charging us for parking gardening and large items that we put in the huge garbage bin. So I am thinking that these so called christian landlords haven't figured out how much to charge for the use of the workshop. I got it because they were talking about opening it up and I wanted to start making walking sticks.
