    I agree with the umpire. His challenge for was the far left side. If he was challenging the baseline then he was wayyyyy to late. A challenge is suppose to be immediately. He challenged after the 2nd shot.

    The umpire was rights that Lopez challenged the call too late, but he shouldn't have awarded the challenge in the first place. He should've first asked which shot Lopez was challenging.

    To be fair Lopez got a point here. It was obvious which Ball Lopez wanted to Challenge since his backhand was far wide. Instead the umpire let Lopez burn his last Challenge on a bad challenge just to tell him that he couldnt challenge the Ball he wanted - the umpire could have avoid the situation By telling him before. Still the behaviour is disgusting from most of the Tennis Player when things are against them..

    • @eduardochernia
      @eduardochernia 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      After hitting the ball, López did check if his ball would land in, so that constituted a new shot. That is why the umpire claimed that the previous ball could not be challenged. In the umpirer´s book, López kept playing. I think the umpire is right, since there is a speculation on the part of López to see where his shot would go. In fact, before I even got to see the instant replay, I thought that López was challenging his own shot.

    • @CreeXzY29
      @CreeXzY29 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@eduardochernia pretty sure that a pro Player knows as soon as they hit a ball if its out ,in or close and lopez looked really unconvinced to me as soon as he hit the Ball... He was still really Late to call the Challenge and i can Understand the umpire aswell. But still the Situation could have been prevented by the umpire by giving a quick note to Lopez which in my Opinion would be the perfect umpiring. I would call it „feeling“ for the Game which most Umpires/Referees are missing in Todays Sport world.
